one handout does not a campaign make !! Cant put all eggs in one basket.. I know the Aged are a sponsor.. but we see very little in the Herald Sun whose readership puts the Aged's a litttle in the shade. The real trick ( or at least one arrow in a quiver) is to channel and coerce free press. You sort of get the impression that only now is any momentum happening.. This ought to have been rolling last year.

Going back to the origins of this thread..lol Iv seen frawley a few times.. in both colours.. and I think the key quality here that most wil agree on is that he coming along 'slowly'. Thats fine in itself. No problems there.. I havent seen too much to get terribly excited about and yes he does have a dip, thats good. Seems a little out of his depth currently in RnB..and seems better with Sandy..Looks like hes stil finding his way. Strikes me as more crash bang at present than menacing cluey backman. Do we 1) Fast track in the 1sts in a year where he's likely to be under the pump from wo to go!! or 2) allow him a little more room in the magoos to learn his craft to an effective level of proficiency..I.e he's of some use down back !! Bailey himself has said that many are training very very well..but unable to translate this into games. I suspect he ( JF ) is one. or do we wo out some arbitrary system of rotation through the backline.. a bit like..learn some lessons.(2nds).put in practice..(1sts) revise.. learn some more..(2nds ) back to implement ( 1sts ) might give a few time to catch breath between "outings"

ML..this lot havent a clue about what marketing is...Its all too little too late. You can sit there and 'moralise' al lyou like.. you can scoff at anyone with the temity to criticise.. But tell me..instead of offering patrronising off hands.. what actually has the club done ...to make capitalisation of this unique landmark year.? Well hopefully Paul McN might adress this but I ( and not alone ) have said for years that the MFc is nothing short of [censored] uselss at marketing...and this is my only real grievance with Gardner..is he's an ad guy.. and we are shizen hauzen. I shallnt bother really adding too many words to what essentially put it all down for all to read other thanto think that possibly the day will indeed galvanise the team like no other game can. The whole experience ought to lay down the framework and essentials for them to see and appreciate even if they cant immediately replicate. There are days that history often uses to point at to say ...that was the day it all started, that was the moment of rebirth. I expect that in times to come April 6 2008 was such a day and occasion for the MFC. I dont expect miracles. I dont expect victory nor a total shellacking. Melbourne might well do themselves a favour and wander down to Blockbuster and take out Gallipoli...and draw upon it. All is not futile..if you learn. Some lessons are taught harshly. Often men are borne of such battles where only boys entered. I expect this might be the case come Sunday.
