Breakfast Point - are the players paying rent there?
beelzebub replied to Demon Jim's topic in Melbourne Demons
Of course they arent !!! -
Ah...this is funny.. People still reel in surprise. Why. There is no spearation of AFL-GWS..its the same beast. And yet it now only dawns on the masses that is all a sham. Always was. Will continue to be. . The truth ...or the new-truth is reinvented on the fly and the spin-meisters gather. This isnt the end of it, watch this space !!! Just one continuous joke Im afraid

sorry late coming to this... but this is essentially what some of us suggested a long time ago and were thought crazy. Its still along bow perhaps but in light of Vladium slips of the mouth possibly not as long as we might have thought. There's two games in town today...one with a oval ball on green grass and another off field played with smoke and mirrors. Quite frankly this has smelt dodgy from the start. Further to this conspiracy notion I have always thought ( and wrote ) that I sense Jim seriously twigged to it early on and the club ( mfc) has been playing its own game there-after.
-
Its all of that and EXPECTED. This has been a con job from day one. Some of us intimated this was likely to be the case a vvery long time ago.. We called it conspiracy etc . It just seemed the likely method operandi should the League be determined to apply force majeur. Im not surprised one iota. Its a 3 ringed circus with an AFL ring masater in every event. Vlad runs the league, hes effectively choreographing the puppets at GWS , he runs the system that provides the players , he runs the method of allocating the players. So why is anyone really or truly surprised to realise that there was always a back game in motion ? Years back the clubs relinquished effective control of their environment...this is the result.

Andrew Demetriou says hi. & congratulations, well done !!!

Actually.. just as a question for those that get to go to training ...how have any of the 'likely's" looked ?? i.e anyone seeming to be putting their hand up ??
-
Billy..for what its worth id almost agreee..On the surface youd ( meaning most of us ) would probably prefer to see Tengove with say 50-60 games under belt. But theres games and games.. He does seem to have a very able and 'older' head on his shoulders so in that regards Ill grant him a concession. Were a bit like bookends as a club.. A handful of older ones with many games.. a handful mid career with about a 100 and then a lot of sub 50 gamers. Id be happy enough to look to the man more than his stat sheet. This hand is sort of forced.

Here again..hes obviously the likely lad leader type.. but has this annoying habit of not playing which ever so slightly dents the rationale doesnt it.!! Grimes is the conundrum of this ilk... leader. I would think HIS priority is to be fit and play a consistent game. Others may well be better or more realistic choice.
-
I would say the issue isnt so much the number of games...but the consistency of taking to the field. theres been some young and able cpatains of teams over the years. Ideally you pickem by theire relevance and apppropriateness to teh job..not some abitrary number of games. Joel Mac has moer than 100 ..Hi Ho has more.... Bate's only 10 short !! yep all ridiculous examples..and still it shows its not the criteria to go by...imho. Leaders are Leaders... you can tell who they are as they just naturally lead..and strangely enough others follow.. Put the wrong bloke in the job and it can all come to a grinding halt..... hang on....we did that !!

If so ..my bad for not readig the fine print.. Youd have to think its all clean sheets now. Neeld's on record as suggesting its primarily the actions fo players that will define their place in the team. This is as it should be as its a game totally pivoted on action. Again ..my bad for not paying attention .lol its all got a bit boring ( footy ) of late. that'll learn me !! Back to renovating...thats more than enough fun. Roll on 2012

This whole subject seems to have slipped into a surreality. Just when I thought thi sclub was serious about reform, serious about throwing out the old ways of inadequacy and mediocroty they serve up this old dish !! Green cant lead. .. he may be a professional about footy but hasnt a clue about effective team leadership...evidence ? weve seen none and hes had plenty of chance to do so. Davey. I used to really rate this guy but so far off the boil now. Would smack of some form of tokenism to appoint him now as hes not only shown no capacity to captain hes actually shown us just how he cant handle the next level of stres on the field Beamer.. ..always strikes me as having the right gumg ho idea and yet seems more suited to a platoon sgts type role more than the general's. Seems to lack the more encomassing poise ( nice pick by another ) Grimes.. who knows.. gotta be on the park week in week out surely...Hasnt happened to date so this would need to be a monty youd think before you could seriuously consider him. Very surprised Trengove not mentioned in despatches as has been one of the very few to actually exhibit the ability to lead. Maybe Im alone here but feel rather disappointed by the club in theyve failed to move on in this regard...just shullfling deckchairs again ...Thought this had been relegated to the bin. Apparently not.

Jamar, Dees up for challenge "MELBOURNE has been challenged on all levels by new coach Mark Neeld - and it's a good thing, according to ruckman Mark Jamar. " In defiance of what some people seem to think of as an affront to the players it would seem its just the tonic the players need to spark. I dont expect all to respoind in quite this manner. There will undoubtedly those (players) who actually believe themselves that they will be up for it, that they will be part of the renaissance but history shows not everyone makes it and often its from opportunities created at these times that the unsung comes to the fore. Neeld seems to be pushing the right buttons...

its a funny situation in a way though.. We really , despite, Eddies inuendos , are looking fairly good in all of this. yes some still nurture a hatred for our game 'management" but who wouldnt have. . We look like the hard done by dudded guys. There is s fine line between just a touch of 'outrage' and bringing focus back to us in a light not wanted. In reality we just give few a little nudge of the elbows here and there and continue on our way. Am just so glad that fiasco masquerading as a family is nothing more to do with us. -
The control of the tail has returned to the dog. Get used to it lads.

Eddie's just doing what Eddie does best...... being Edddie !! All posturing and blah blah blah. Its what the Filth would be expecting. Am sure that Martian Seagull will be laughing ....just like we are. You cant keep them all Eddie...lol

Would I expect any more compensation? Probably not. Might be remiss of us not to apply some torch to the subject though, if only to keep up appearances, stir the pot,,,, Likely outcome... No change. -
yep...sick 'em Eddie... woof...good boy... Good luck with that...poor diddums !!
