  1. I read it AOB. I understand it quite well. As a rule I treat most media with equal disdain. Even Gleason isnt that sure apparently what hes arguing. I didnt infer he said anything remotely like the Dees had done the wrong thing I put it that his argument is bumkum and contradictory. In simple terms hes trying to compare apples and oranges and just come up smelliing liek a ripe banana !!
  2. Unfortunate in a fashion but inevitable given the way its all panned out. The club whilst nurturing must maintain a pragmatic reality about things. Good luck in the future Aussie.
  3. Give me a break Rhino.. ffs if i said white youd argue black jsut to be you. That you are incapable of spotting the obvious difference surprises me none.. Are you suggesting that Phils job is really a fair dinkum reflection of value /recompense ?? Get real. The fairness of whatever Todd is on has never been discussed as an issue. Only you raise it. Not even teh glorious Aged suggest so. Conversely the media bring into focus the idea that Phil is on about twice his supposed coin of market. Huge difference. The timeliness of things as you so happily suggest as a point has some validity but only in as much as what happened first. Yes we employed Todd. yes we eventually signed Jack.. There was never a gauranteee to that though.. Given the underhandedness of the who;e GWS ?Scully lie it would surprise me not at all shoulf the notion of emplying dad been there from all but day one. They just like to allow a few days ( as minimal as possible ) to transpire before changing things. This is a total crock Rhino and you know it. An unwarranted crack at Gleason...now youre funny. He even gives his own reasoning. "it was different" but then continues to smear. did that evade your ntice ?
  4. Do i dare be so cyncial and suggest he ( CS) wouldnt have been quite so silly hadnt his contract been signed yet ?? This is the sort of element that gets up my goat, some of these geese play the club for fools really. As soon as they think theyre safe and sound the real nature of the beast shows its head again. How long did he sign for ? How much value do we want/need to extract ffrom him ? If we are to get anything of use he has to be censured big time. Apparently Colin doesnt understand subtlety so in that light take a sledge hammer to him. Fine by me. Others have seen the light as to what the club is doing . Its not just a message to Colin its a 'take note people' cross the line and we will smack you , HARD . You would like to think that you could deal with some /all as respectful adults but a few , theres always a few, spoil it and they need to be treated like 5yo's. Now its up to Sylvia to show some mettle. Dont be mislead. This is ultimately his doing and he needs to fix it.
  5. What utter muck raking.. Todd is/was an established assitant. He WAS already at melbourne, he is beinig paid fair money for his job. Nothing underhanded about this. We take Jack as father/son. Nothing new in that. The Scully issue is so full of smllely substances its not funny. Phil moves to where his son now owrks and takes a nuff nuff job at way above market value.. , extremely dodgy stuff. Couldnt be more different if they tried.. Gleason's a [censored] obviously
  6. He has to punished and in a meaningful and gut wrenching way. It needs to permeate his thick skull that the way hes going about things is simply wrong and wrong wont be tolerated , not an inch. Its a bit like making the whole platoon do pushups because pone has let teh side down. I.e one person not acting in unison with the team brings about its pain. Totally agree with the sentiments that is ok to talk the talk about hardening up but come walking the walk many want to go all gooey. Colin needs to harden up a lot, and some supporters could do with doing so a bit too.
  7. No.. you simply suggest anyone having a diametrically opposed view in this manner is either huffing..or pro nanny. I dont want blood from Colin, just for him to grow up. He seems incapable of this. We as a club are paying a lot of money for him to abide by the rules of his employ. He seems incapable of this also. ...nah...lets just let idiots do whatever they want huh. p.s Doing STUPID things has no season. .
  8. Strangely Suzanna the club disagrees entirely with you... I really struggle to understand how anyone just leaves a car like that and expects people to gloss over it. As the owner of the car he does have certain responsibilities. As a player he has obligations to the club. These are spelt out and agreed to. These arent debatable, they arent negotiable per se. You either do it or you suffer the punishment. Give him a break ?? how many shall we give him Suzanna , how many ? Poor Colin, poor Colin, dont blame him he's just a naughty boy. Break? Give me a Break !!
  9. I really dont think a lot of people , players included take the NAB at all seriously. Its the season proper that sits all about. Being denied a spot in a nuff nuff game wont do anything to send a message. We often load up, as do many clubs, with younger less experienced players whilst resting the more senior ones. . Col wouldnt see this as anything special being dropped for a pre season game. . Getting a suspension from a 'real' game is an entirely different thing. Time Col really understood what is required. Why didnt we just trade him when we had a chance He always promising , always reneging. He's like a pathological liar. Says one thing does another Heres one player that really needs a bit of sense knocked into. Hopefully Neeld can get the message through
  10. Theres a protocol laid down and explained by the club to all concerned. He knew what was expected, He F%#*ed UP !!...Again !!
  11. refer the MFC media release where it states hed been drinking.
  12. Some genuine validity in this question. There are I suppose elements to the transgression. Some apply as result of him being a Melbourne player representing himself, the club and the nation. As to his naughtiness regarding the IR , well hes been punished for that. There are still the issues of him representing himself and also the club in his actions after the smash. Its been adjudicated that he failed in this regard also and is punished where applicable.
  13. Nupp...this is what he ought to be doing ANYWAY...not as redemption. The clown needs to learn.
  14. oh dear, leopards and spots. Crack your whip Neeld !! What is it with some players, no sooner do they get that new contract than they act the goose.
  15. Be interesting to see what a preseason under "new management" results in. ( goes for a lot of blokes actually )
  16. what......again !!!!!!
  17. It rather bemuses me , a lot of the talk about which games are wins or losses in 2012. Not a shot has been fired nor a ball bounced to start a game and some are already writing this game or that one off. Next season will be very different. 7 teams have new coaches and theres a completely new team. The dynamics are not what they were this year.. Players have come and gone.. others will be better for another preseason. yes that goes for many a team. Who put West Coast in the top four after 2010 ?? Who really anticpated such a fall for the dogs and saints ? Probably not many. At this stage we have 22 games to go and theyre ALL winable. Doeesnt matter where. Name a venue we havent won at ? Every season's just a bit different to the one before ( or after) It all comes down to what sort of Melbourne side takes to the field. At this stage it looks pretty good . Gotta love the off season !!
  18. well..all I can suggest wrt to the Geelong game is we suck it up, look the enemy in the eye and have a red hot go. The enemy btw is not so much teh Cats...but self-doubt. We have to wipe slate clean and go around again. Bit like getting back on the horse.. GWS at Manuka might be a little bit about brand building for the Dwarves... maybe not..who really cares its not on their own turf so its neutral.. The truly sceptical might think Scully doesnt want to face us on his own soil , just in case Yes a nice little run of games at the G there... 4 in a row ( well a week off in between ) . Still ...who'd da thunk !! Some good games though really at the G .. Looking forward to them . Go Dees
  19. then why isnt it the orig 2.10 as was for ...oh... almost forever !! wrt this game. Looks a whole lot like d!cking around for its own sake sometimes. But I dgress...not even our game.. I dont really see why the QBD cant be normal time. . Stuff the news.,..they can fill with aftergame rubbish or bring forward news. Seems ridiculous that as you head to the shortest day of year you delay the start
  20. and Anzac day at 2.40.. !!! Is that game longer ???
  21. The HBF is a bit of a conundrum. As you rightly infer its often used for convalescence or "now where do I put that bloke" . But its an oft maligned position which is a bit silly for if you put someone there with good pace and ability to read the ball it can make it a very effective spearhead for a good team. its quite often suggested that a team is as good as its lower 6 players. Id rehash that a bit and suggest good teams have good players even in these "lower 6 " type positions...i.e Its the calibre and strength of the player in these spots that might deffine a team.
  22. I dont understand why the QBD game needs to start late. ..Nothing else on that day !!!
  23. Just noticed the earlier starts on many sats.. Hope it doesnt catch too many out..
