Do you know this , or merely casting your own aspersions ?? Im somewhat surprised youd even think he hasnt spoken to the players as this was his stated intention as soon as they returned after their break. Whats being reported has transpired since these briefs ( player's) There will be rude awakenings ( npi ) for more than a handful of players, even some of the more gifted and dedicatd ones. The bar is simply a lot higher now.. Its up to the players to respond.

WJ is quite correct in my view in saying the AFL wont do a thing. It could hardly be participant, judge and executioner could it ? Its known all along and has either turned a blind eye to anything even more underhande it would have suggested themselves or been a willing conduit to such an end result. Vlad and Co have this wonderful ( if bordering insane ) idea as to the AFL's place in the world and their ( Vlad and co ) place in its portrayal. Its all BIG picture stuff and as such any littel niggleig and minor transgression if for the "greater good " are happily swept into the abyss. Its a bit like someone ordering a "quiet and desist" on another but getting someone else to organise an anonymous assasin. They then feign their idea of plausible deniability as to who or what happened. We only thought 'this' would happen !!! etc In reality the AFL is paying the wage of everyone complicit in this....ta.dahhhhhh !!! lol

If were talking Jurrah then he will have to work on his 'consistent' efforts in regard defensive pressure. He knows how to do it all but in all honesty he doesn't give it for 100 mins.. But hes far from alone. most of the team doesnt and thats the essential element Neeld will address. Players will need to play at 100% for 100% of the game or give it their very very best impersonation of such. Neeld wont accept players professing to give their all, he will only accept them doing it. One simple rule for all.

Im sure everyone will be instructed as to whats expected of the team , and of them as individuals. Roles will be described and criteria of acceptance explained. At the moment all players are at the exact same point of their new Melbourne experience. I.e No one has played a game under Neeld yet. Players now all ...ALL, have to earn their spots. They will have to work just as hard if not harder to keep them as efforts and outcomes are better understood. Liam, just to suggest one, will not be exempt. No one will. A new day has dawned and some will see the sun and smile at the chance, others will wilt in the heat. Its about a team , not individuals.....that era is over

As left field as that sounds to some it may well prove the case. Some people actually thrive in life on being the down trodden, the under achievers etc. Anyone whos involved with psych might be able to atest and define this syndrome more properly. That was my immediate thought to o DOF. Its been said by the club ( MFC) that the LCA's will spend a bit of time developing etc at Casey as part of their overall duties so this scenario could work out well. The notion is that the assistants will be lookign after the up and comers as part of the job. These kids will by virtue of their developmental status be at Casey a lot of their time. As Spock would put it..... Logical

Good find on that site.. Im not saying for a sec we HAVE to...but if were open to ideas like Darwin , as well as other locales in past , then why wouldnt wee not at least listen to a proposal ? We have put some mileage into China. The upside could be immense. things like landing a sponsor like CSA perhaps couldnt do us any harm. We have to think laterally and outside the box, in fact outside the currently accepted playing field. Better to at least have opportunities and reject for whatever reason than be beaten to the prize by some johnny come lately vulture. Its good to have options.

well true... but as a question it is. How many games would you want to sell ? A Chinese game probably wouldnt count as a home game sold...just a bonus. Speculative I concede. Again ..as a hypothetical I have it as either or..not both

As a hypothetical what would folk prefer An opening game in China , similar schedule to the syd v gws game 2012..i.e a few more days added before the next round ..for a truck load of afl expo money, in reasonable weather and conditions or a latter season game to darwin in attroicious body sucking conditions and 6-7 days til next game , with who knows what ramifications. which is actually more beneficial ? A question: You have entity A You have particpants P You have status S Old management is OM New management is NM Now NM come into A and note that P are S. Thas is just what IS. How else can they describe it other than S ? NM arent particulalry looking to bignote themselves or lambast OM they are just acknowledging that S is S. if they are honest they cant say anything else can they.?? If they are to do a proper job they have to begin with where things are. That is all they are doing Some one asks them what they think...and they say so... . Im willing to bt its something above zero....if only microscopic. The AFL set up a chinese based website some tears back to educate and explain the game. It was getting thousands of hits. Cant find it for the life of me now, but my search ability in either mandarin or cantonese is a bit rough. The AFL is very keen to establish an interest if only in a boutique sense . We as a club have been pandering to exactly the same idea. So why as a club wouldnt we be at least interested in hearing it out ? Thats fine.. your perogative. This is why iwas curious as to where Cale himsefl thought he was. Often our own thinkings arent as many others see ourselves. I was interested to understand whether Cale was au fait with the view many of us have and if he shared it , or if he actually thought he was going ok . Ive often thought of him as a 3 legged stool missing one leg. . He has the ability and skill just lacks the grunt. For mine if he cant find that aspect of his mojo he might as well stand aside and let someone else actually play footy, to be involved in the game. Hes like a spectator from amidst, quite bizarre really.

If played as an opener in the same vein as Syd v GWs a few days before the rest theres time for a littel rest etc. My issue with Darwin is its timing and weather and how it wil lsuck the life out of players , all that in face of normal turnaround. . This really teh only issue of consternation. The LIE. That he took an offer..good for him, who wouldnt ( in general ) look favourably upon a massive truckload of money to do the same job at another company ? Few Id suggest. I and others here only took issue with the subtefuge and scullduggery that went on. He caused one hell of a raucous, and if he didnt cause it he was most complicit in it. The money is just a number , the destination is just a workplace , but his character was all a front . He's in my mind quite despicable ( Daffy to the nth!! )

The essential I take out of much of what Neeld is saying /doing is simply this. He doesnt really care much about what was happening at MElbourne before he got there hes only focused on what WILL happen now he IS there. As rpfc suggests it will be others who wil clamber to make or invent comparisons for whatever motives drive them.

Jack, to put it simply, I hope they all take up the challenge. They are there of their own volition, no one's press ganged them into a life of sport and indeed AFL. This is their life. Yet some still have to be nagged and cojoled into action all the whiles taking home a very heathy pay packet. Its been far too cushy for far too long for far too many. We've all been hoping , praying let alone insisting that things change at the MFC. That time has come. Cream rises.
