  1. I heard that as well. Harris mentioned our 150th birthday a couple of times as well so I think that may have been a bit of a focus. One of the SEN broadcasters also said that from all reports Judd's groin isn't as bad as thought and it might just be a 4 week injury.
  2. I wonder if Kriuzer is in the leadership group yet?
  3. No Neitz, Non Fev, Juice is looking pretty good at 12-1 for most goals.
  4. No use complaining about rules / state of the game during the season if you don't have your say when you have the chance.
  5. If that was Byron he'd be looking at doing a stint in jail.
  6. Ohh this year where he has broken his foot, lost his fitness base and played with a plethora of injuries?
  7. He does not get the ball? That is absurd! You realize last season he was equal leading possesion winner in the entire competition based on time on ground.
  8. RR I notice you say Brock has been ordinary for quite some time this year. Would you agree his progress up unil then has been excepetional? A broken foot kills confidence as well as any pre season you have under your belt not least because you can't continue your running program. For me Brock's year somewhat mirrors the demons fortunes. Coming into the season with great exppectations only to be cruely cut down by injuries. "Injuries are not an excuse" is a very simple way of viewing things. If Michael Schumakre's ferrari broke down would you consider him a poor driver?
  9. Dunn has been sent to Sandy to work on and improve his attack on the ball. I have been very disappointed with CJ this year but had hoped he would be given the opportunity to play out the season and show something. If the football department had any intention or the slightest consideration of keeping him on the list he would be playing at the moment. Both Ward and Holland are more likely to be part of our future than CJ. Bode was promoted off the rookie list in the last week permissible by the AFL. He will get a chance before the season is over. Ward has had a good season, he'll deservedly finish well in the best and fairest count. Somehow his disposal is considered criminal yet when Bruce strays them it is not so bad. Ward is much quicker (pace is an asset we sorely lack) than Bruce and has more penetration with his kicks.
  10. That is ridiculous, do you honestly believe that RR?
  11. Plenty, the difference is they put their head over the ball and display courage.
  12. McLean already has alot of runs on the board and Buckley was playing his first game. Kicking is the feature of Johnsons game. His foot skills were ordinary on Sunday. When someone does poorly at the main thing they are reputed to be good at their value to the team should be questioned.
  13. I wrote he'll play out the year and hope more than anyone he comes good. I'm not sure what this thread has to do with Buckly?
  14. I've read it repeatedly on Demonland & Demonology by posters claiming to be in the know.
  15. CJ has struggled to break into a Melbourne side depleted by injury and heading for a bottom 3 finish. He's got into the side because TJ, Bruce, Green, Whelan & Bell are all out injured and Riley wants to play the youth. Playing for his career, he played a game Brent Grgic wouyld have been embarressed by. People have said he doesn't like Daniher and he's going to ask to be traded to West Coast. Well Daniher isn't around anymore and I doubt West Coast would even rookie list him. He'll play out the rest of the year purely because we have so many injuries, I hope he turns it around more than anyone but I am very doubtful.
  16. Me too bring back Ricky!
  17. A great servant to the end. Always putting the club first.
  18. SEN are saying he wont play but it is an unconfirmed rumour. Betting on the game was suspended this afternoon for a short period so it is likely he’ll miss.
  19. Without wanting to upset the moderators (Jaded) Chris Johnson is hardly a gun. In our bleakest period in decades he couldn't break into our ordinary, injury depleted team. He can't assert himself on games and will struggle to keep his postiion on the list at years end. This is not because Sandringham have stunted his development it just doesn't seem to be working out for him and that upsets me because his old man was my favourite player. I though Mclean played a bit of footy at Sandrinham, perhaps even won one of the premierships?
  20. St Kilda was crippled by injury under Thomas as well. The brawl Fraser Gheric with happened during Thomas' time Was it also Butters decision to sack Blight? Then hire his "mate" Thomas?
  21. Can't believe our luck wit injuries. I wouldn't be surprised if Wheatley was unavailable, he'd normally get the call up after dominating for Sandy last week. With Whelan out Wheatleys becomes more important because he can take the kickouts.
  22. We're 0-7, have quite a few injuries and CJ can't even break into the side. He's not overly fast or a really tough hard ball winner. I hope I'm wrong because his dad was my favourite player when I was growing up.
  23. Wheatley was fantastic today. A definate inclusion for next week, he is alot tougher than I've ever given him credit for, his shoulder was giving him trouble but he just ket contesting and getting the footy. Robbo absolute monty to play next week. Juice has IT. Robbo went for a screamer in our goal square in the 2nd quater, had the sit and flew for it like Robbo does, only to be out done by Newton who flew even higher, got his hands to the ball but just couldn't hold it. He took 2 marks today where he could have just gone back and had set shots (and most likely goaled) played on both times and missed from about 15meteres it just wasn't working today but the guy is an excitement machine. I've watched a fair bit of Sandringham the last couple of years and at times wondered why people say Juice has an attitude problem, today I saw it for the first time. I was standing in the pocket and he cleanly picked up the ball running flat out at the boundry line deliberatly kicked a grubba along the ground that just missed going through the big sticks. A lot of people would be wrapped they even got foot to ball, he was filthy he missed the impossible goal and he ended up kicking the fence right in front of me. I could see a look of fury in his eyes. The rest of the team started taking their zone (they're alot better at this than Melbourne). Newton was still furious about his point and didn't hold a position, Wheatley started yelling at him and trying to direct him, Newton yelled back at him to get fuc... After that he did get on with it and give 110% all day. Juice is really starting to believe in himself and will kick a a bag of 12 if he doesn't get the call up in the next few weeks. Newton and Russell Roberston really seemed to look for each other today they work really well together and lastly I have never been so excited about a Melbourne listed player. Chris Jonhson so much talent such a waste. I will be surprised if he ever puts on the red and blue again, such a shame. Garland really came into it in the last playing off a half back flank. From what I've seen he could be a really damaging footballer in the coming years. He could really complement a tough midfield of Mclean, Jones and Moloney. Brock was there wathcing with Rivers and I hate to report was still limping. Medhurst was out there for Williamstown and makes me wonder why Ezra Poyas couldn't make it. Give me the choice of the 2 and I'd take Ezra every time.
