  1. I've got a mate who writes reports on oppostion teams' game plans for Alastair Clarkson and he tipped Bartel to win the brownlow at 300-1 at the beginning of this season. He also gets foxtel as a tax deduction but that's another story...
  2. Well I just hope Col gets to the point where he attracts the oppositions best tagger every week like Trav did.
  3. I reckon he could be down to 84.5% the Maric - Daicos comparison is fair but I think Maric may also have a smidgen of Alan Jackovick in him as well.
  4. Not really a kids thing Dappa. Plenty of oldies sprting a mo at the moment to raise money for mens health issues.
  5. My old man and sister headed down to training today and filled me in on their observations:- * Meeson moves really well, * Garland and Frawley both look to have stacked on a few kilos, * Rivers, Whelan and Wheatley were the only players in the rehabilitation group and none of them had an obvious injury, * Jones is Cousins like (dare I say it) looks absolutely ripped and runs further and harder than anyone, * Bell is nearing the end of movember, * Caroll's new hair cut is filthier than his previous one, * Bate and Frawley were opposing each other in a drill and were highly competitive to the point of getting quite aggressive towards each other, Finally Moloney stopped just before the end of training to ice his hamstring which looked to be just a precautionary measure. There are plenty of Melbourne supporters who rate Moloney really highly but neither my old man or sister fall into that category but they came away today saying Moloney trained the house down and is moving like never before during his time at Melbourne. A lot of the drills Bailey had them doing were based around peripheral vision and reflexes and Moloney excelled in them. In one of the drills he stood approximately about a metre away from the big net with 2 players on his left, 2 players on his right and 1 player behind him. Four of the five players had a footy and they would take in turns throwing their footy at the net in order from left to right while Moloney would catch it and instantly handball to the player who didn't have a footy. As soon as he'd handball the next player would chuck the footy at the net and so on. Apparently Moloney was consistently stringing about 25 or so catches and on handballs in a row whereas the other dozen players (including Davey) that were put in his position rarely passed 9 or 10 in a row. If I remember anything else they said I'll post later.
  6. Good on ya Finks. I heard you were married and never to be let out again...
  7. I doubt CAC will take McEvoy at 14 after his "miss" with Slow-mo Smith at 16 with good skills and bucket hands a few (just under 426) seasons ago.
  8. I wanted Chris Johnson to be delisted at the end of the seaon but now I have a funny fealing that he'll stand up under Bailey.
  9. The original news report I saw showed what they claimed were his medical records with a black mark over the name of the patient
  10. They don't. They do have the power to prevent the Australian media reporting medical records just as they did ealier in the year for the players we cannot name.
  11. Earlier in the year a Dylan Howard reported he had the medical records of 2 players from a certain club that had twice tested positive for recreational drugs. The AFL sought a Supreme Court Injunction to prevent the Australian media from repeating the claim. How come they don't do the same thing for Cousins and the LA medical records? I realise that he has a serious problem but now that both charges against him have been dropped he should be allowed the same privacy as every other player in the compettion and eligble for the pre season draft, not that any team would pick him up.
  12. Yeah If Sylvia was up with them...
  13. Nup this year we're well and truly fuc... Next season we need to look for development from they under 23s.
  14. Why don't you throw Trav, Brock and Jones in and see if we can get a second round pick?
  15. Geelong (granted they had luck with FS rule) didn't HAVE to, West Coast didn't have to, Port Adelaide didn't have to. I'm not convinced that early draft picks equate to a flag. Early draft picks in succesive drafts help but there is so much more to it. List management, injury management, clever trading, club culture, coaching tactics are all essential to building a premiership team.
  16. Hopefully he'll also be remembered for smearing his blood on Ling.
  17. Roughead has great ability on the football field, he could be a great footballer. His off field antics worry me. If Hawthorn are trying to trade a young KPP with enourmous potential there is a good reason behind it. I would not go near him.
  18. Just hope that Melbourne and WC are currently trying to negotiate a deal. It's going to be a stressfull time if Judd 'chooses' Melbourne and we have to wait and see if we get him.
  19. That's exactly it Redleg. We are by all reports in the top 2 prefered clubs for Judd. We have pick 4 which is in all likeliness going to be involved in the deal. We seem likely to either get Judd or rape another club with our low draft pick. I would love Judd but we're in a fantastic position either way.
  20. I hate replying to a post without adding something, but in this circumstance there is nothing to add. This is one of the best posts I have ever read.
  21. Get your brownlow tapes out I'm pretty sure Judd said something along the lines of how sureal it was winning the brownlow he could remember watching Jim Stynes win it as a kid. Oh and Gary Lyon there is a reason he wore 3 at the Eagles
