Garland will have a good season this year, despite being Demonland's new whipping boy. I'm not buying into the losing pace argument. He has all the attributes to be a valued contributor. He was down on confidence last season but that will come back quickly this year.

I sat next to Colin at a function once a few years ago. Every time I have seen him since he has come up and said hello to me. Not only is he friendly he has a freakish memory.

Carey was captain of North Melbourne at 21 and All Australian captain at 22. He was a budding superstar at 20. Let's just hope Hogan has a solid injury free year.

I'd be praying for no trend it the scans DID find a problem. As it stands we took him for precautionary scans (he is our most valuable asset) and they came up fine as expected.

Open training miscommunication - another MFC unforced error
Wrecker45 replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
I am normally in the over reaction crowd and think Demonland posters blow these sought of things out of proportion but yesterday was bad. I went with my wife, sister and daughter and we all left before the main group came out. The vast majority of the crowd looked to be staying but there would be a bad taste left in their mouths. -
That looks pretty much how I expect them to line up round 1. Grimes will play though, maybe at Max Gawn's expense and rotate through the midfield. I was disappointed in Max last night I was hoping he would become a dominant ruckmen this year and on the initial evidence it looks unlikely.

I never understand why people say beer is watered down when it is coming out of a keg and poured in front of you. It would be no easy task to get water into the keg. Unless of course you are just saying light and mid strength is watered down cats [censored]?

Dank says he kept the records on the clubs intranet. If that is the case they can be recovered.

When you are well up early it always a temptation to increase your staking.

Had my daughters 1st birthday party and was so caught up in that I didn't have a bet. I have a soft spot for Smokin' Joey so I would have had a bit of a crack at that. I saw it beat home Dissident but still wasn't good enough to win. How did you go?

I'm in binman. I'm not impartial to a flutter.

Have you watched Melbourne play footy over the last 8 years? I need a beer.

Essendon - No need for explanation Carlton - Need a rebuild, Madhouse is not the man to do it. Also lost that superstar Garlett. Saints - Can't see them improving Bulldogs - Losing Cooney, Cross and Griffen and a coach in the last few years is reminiscent of Melbourne. Culture problems. Libba doing his knee wont help either. Collingwood - Lost 2 of the top 4 from last years b&f. Players don't like Buckley. Richmond - fell into the finals last year and haven't improved their list Geelong - Ageing list. Mitch Clarks calves wont stand up. Freo - Coach is massively overrated. Ageing stars. Will slide North- Waite could be a good inclusion but their draw is much more difficult this season than last. Could be a surprise slider.

I don't gamble except on horses and football.

I take your point but if you look at the thread where posters choose their best 22 plenty have Grimes missing a spot. He was captain last year. That's no Blease, Straus or Tappy.

I'm hoping to see Brayshaw play at Casey every week and dominating but can't break into the side because Melbourne are doing so well.

Just looking at a pic of Stretch on the MFC website and he has more muscle on him than I ever remember his old man having and from all reports he has done everything right in his first pre-season. There has been a bit of an emphasis on no saviours since Roos has taken over and I'm looking forward to seeing who can cement a spot in the team based on form because we finally have depth.

Yeah but Gysberts first game for us was a belter.

Mitch Clark, Tom Scully, Michael Long, Cameron Schwab and Gary Buckenara.

I tend to think player re-signings should be confidential during the year and all announced at seasons end. For example this year we wouldn't find out if Garland had re-signed or not until after the GF.

Spot on Nutbean.

That's a shame because I had some nice mares waiting for Odwyer and Tingay

The problem I have with Dawes going for a mark and the reason it is always 2 or more grabs is he has both his palms facing the ball. Look at any decent mark ever and particularly Dunstall and Carey and they have their hands side on with thumbs at the back ready to grab it..

Christian Petracca - Season Ending Knee Injury
Wrecker45 replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
We finally draft a big bodied kid with an early pick which everyone has been screaming for. He probably would have had an impact this year but we will never know. Can't help but wonder if Ollie Wines would have done his knee had we drafted him...
