  1. I thought 08 was pretty woeful, probably the worst year I've seen us play since I started following the club in the mid 1980s. But this year is worse than that for mine.
  2. if it's choc, then craig will walk. if craig stays, choc won't come. it's roos or eade for mine.
  3. i don't care what anyone says - as someone who used to go see the swans on a regular basis at the scg and stadium australia during roos' tenure they were incredibly exciting to watch. quick ball movement off half back through the run and dare of the likes of barry, kennelly, et al, a big power forward in hall, a smart mid-sized forward in o'loughlin, and in adam goodes one of the best players of the era. they had a blue-collar midfield who worked incredibly hard for one another. this is why i want roos; i believe he instils a real team ethic in a group of average players to the point where they were able to win their first premiership in 72 years. as i've said before, i also think he brings a 'whole of club' mentality; people i know who worked at the swans say that he was a brilliant communicator with all levels of the business.
  4. What pick did we get when we sent Grgic to Geelong? Watts reminds me so much of him.
  5. Jack actually hasn't said anything, other than that he's more likely to stay now the Nutty Professor has gone. His manager, on the other hand... In my opinion, Jack puts in full effort when he feels like it, not when the team needs him to. He has certainly not developed anything like as he would have liked him to do, but there's seemingly a host of reasons for that - poor coaching, poor culture, etc, etc. Does he have the talent? Absolutely. Does he have the desire to make the most of that talent? Doubtful...
  6. I'm surprised at the surprise. There's a reason the Giants were heavily backed in - we really ain't no good. And boy oh boy it would seem we proved it. Unlike others saying they won't sign up as members next year etc I say hang in there, don't stop believing, yada yada yada. We precious few are all this club has. God knows the people at the coal face would seem to care little, judging by their efforts.
  7. I can see clearly now... No, wait, that's the optometrists thread!
  8. Must admit I'm not watching - at the G instead. Look like we are going to get done?
  9. If we get #1, trade to GWS for #2 and Adams. Then GWS can do what they so choose with it.
  10. well, thankless with a whole lotta zeroes as part of it... make no mistake, whoever takes on the gig will be dubbed a martyr to the cause by the media. but as roos believes, things can change quickly in footy!
  11. Dear AFL, If you give the Dees a priority pick, and if a Liberal party powerbroker is your choice to be President of this rabble, I'll take on the thankless task of dragging their lifeless body from the ocean of mediocrity and breathing life into it. Yours, Roosy
  12. Rubbish we'd trade it for a 30 year old! I was surprised anyone would sign up without knowing who'll be in charge for the next few years. Gawn is totally in my good books!
  13. The club has gone back to too many people who are red and blue. We have to find people who know how to build environment and culture of a Geelong a Sydney etc
  14. Connolly and he don't really know each other. Structure of footy club has nothing to do with personal things. Between the lines, cuddles is gone.
  15. Not much to sell but hope. Needs an experienced coach. Understands untried can come in and perform, but thinks we need someone who has done it before.
  16. Works for the board. Reports to them, keeps AFL informed.
  17. Spoken to many people, including Walsh. Will catch up with him in the coming weeks. No arrangement in place. Mentioned Hawks too.
