  1. he's so clearly our best player at the moment it's not funny
  2. bolton dropped the selection committee who picked him in it - 'here's all the people who picked me, half of whom are still involved with the club, who now just sacked me'
  3. if lever is fit enough to play, he plays i personally don't think he should be, but really if he's going to do his knee again it could happen at afl, vfl, or during an innocuous training incident i'd be curious to know whether a player is statistically more likely to do a knee at training than during a game; the prevalence of players doing an acl in training seems more common - i can think of four off the top of my head so far this year vs only doedee early in the season then dunn in the vfl in a match for this year, tho i'm sure it's happened to more players...actually add ward in too
  4. this peptides vs carltank match be the worst game i've seen this year and i watched every minute of our mob's 1 point victory over gc17
  5. i'm also in the camp that doesn't think lever has enough footy under his belt yet; but, then again, they played hannan and jkh off not much more of a footballing base, so.... IN: May, Salem, Lever, Hore OUT: Spargo, Stretch, O Mac, J Wagner B: Hore - May - Lever HB: Salem - Frost - Hibberd ? Jones - Harmes - Fritsch HF: Petracca - T Mac - Hunt F: T Smith - Weideman - Garlett Foll: Gawn - Oliver - Viney I/c: Brayshaw - Hannan - JKH - Baker Emerg: Spargo - Stretch - O Mac - J Wagner if lever does get left out, j wagner would be the in i'd have for him
  6. that was AWESOME
  7. the filth are like meth coke; they aren't playing particularly well but they're not losing
  8. Add Lever and Sparrow to the injury list - neither named at either level this week
  9. jones is one of most consistent midfielders; if he wants to play on he should get another year he's having a better year than anyone outside of gawn, harmes and (borderline) oliver
  10. because he has more perceived value worth remembering we gave up pick 23 for him god our trading of picks for players has been.......what's another word for atrocious?
  11. unfortunately i don't think he has any value whatsoever and any club who was 'in his ear' would be telling him that they'll pick him up as a delisted player
  12. yeah, it's an interesting time, particularly as you say for those mid-age players like stretch, anb and jkh - only possibly the middle one may be trade bait i personally think that with lewis a near-certainty to go that jones gets a reprieve, unless he a) chooses to go elsewhere or b) retires i would guess, from the senior list: baker - new deal (two years) garlett - gone frost - new deal (two years) jones - new deal (one year) / retire jkh - new deal (one year) / gone lewis - retire maynard - gone anb - new deal (two years) / trade bait j smith - new deal (one year) / retire stretch - gone weideman - new deal (two or three years) j wagner - gone / downgraded to rookie list and the rookies: chandler - new deal (one year) dunkley - new deal (one year) keilty - gone lockhart - new deal (two years, upgraded to senior list) t smith - gone c wagner - new deal (one year) bradtke - new deal (one year) walker - gone that'd leave minimum of four senior list spots and four rookie list spots, i think, before any trading even begins?
  13. Good, sensible pick - we are desperate for more midfield options, and he provides that from the get go; I guess he replaces Maynard on the list in 2020 and has a decade of youth and future football development ahead of him Would probably have gone in the first two rounds at some stage of this year’s end of season draft from all reports
  14. lots of speculation that north will look to ship out mid-level to senior experienced players in order to get draft picks in, but who would you look at? luke davies-uniake: no way they're giving up a high pick at this stage, despite how ordinary he looks (20 at start of 2020 season) ben cunnington: workhorse who just wracks up the ball and quietly goes about his business (28) jy simpkin: talented but doesn't work nearly hard enough defensively (22) jared polec: one year in a big money deal, there's no way they'd trade him out (27) tarryn thomas: one of their few young talents on their list, again no way they'd trade him (20) ben brown: key forward who is good in the air and a deadeye [censored] but a liability at ground level (27) basically i don't think there's much on their list to poach from tbh it would seem that they'll have a complete changeover in their footy department, but i don't know who of the below may appeal to 'freshen up' our approach? brad scott: tactically astute but something about the scott twins has already rubbed me the wrong way gavin brown: senior assistant who has been at collingwood and carlton previously darren crocker: director of coaching and midfield coach, i guess he could be a similar like-for-like with brendan mccartney? aaron greaves: head of player development, literally joined this year along with the two port players he brought with him rhyce shaw: defensive coach, was pretty highly regarded over the previou four years at swans, has just joined the kangas this year jared moore: stoppage coach, they're terrible at stoppages so now way you'd look at him leigh tudor: forwards coach, another senior assistant coach who seems to have been around for ages, having served at swans, saints and cats prior to joining the kangas in 2013 tbh, i think we'll probably be looking for someone to replace mccartney, so i guess from that perspective those such as crocker and tudor may hold some appeal
  15. if he's as good as lockhart, why not? it's obviously not going to happen
  16. given the pedigree, you'd hope we don't overlook dunkley it really is pot luck with this stupid thing - just gotta hope ya land a surprise tim kelly / sydney stack / mick barlow packet
  17. 6: gawn 5: hore (and he had five kicked on him!) 4: viney 3: frost 2: baker 1: petracca
  18. from 2008 to 2014 my general rule of thumb was 'opposition doesn't crack 100 points that's sorta kinda a little bit almost but not quite a win, right?' that's almost a win today tally ho dees!
  19. baker better than many senior teammates
  20. i don't understand why we're continuing with what's not working in terms of oliver, viney, harmes as the core trio in the middle alongside gawn i'd try mixing it up - throw viney and oliver forward for petracca and brayshaw into the middle, for starters - brayshaw can't play anywhere other than in the middle anyway, so might as well play him there
