  1. weideman flew at the ball and clunked a few; he doesn't deserve to be dropped unless it's for match-ups / game style however, gawn / weideman / hogan / t mac worked today; no reason you'd mess with it for next week at the same venue against a similar-ish opponent trac for anb is the only thing that makes sense
  2. Should’ve won by 10 goals plus But I’ll take it!
  3. Can we invoke Godwin’s Law on this thread now?
  4. That was a brilliant win
  5. 1 goal 1 from 9 disposals, 3 marks and 3 tackles currently A standard Watts ‘decoy’ game
  6. Swans on fire
  7. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvTRZJ-4EyI hope i get tickets on monday!
  8. i think hogan might be even more up the ground than he has been with trac out he's actually just playing a classic wide-roaming chf at the moment; i don't understand people making a fuss about him being up the ground so much i'm really interested to see how hannan and fritsch can work together in the same forward line; fritsch in the first half against the cats and hannan in the second both had patches, but never together t mac is an aerobic beast so i have no issues with him playing afl over vfl if he's fit enough to play; better to get touch at senior level than on comparatively suburban grounds at a lower level with lower intensity jetta - o mac lewis - hibberd - lever - vince - hunt gawn - oliver - salem - tyson - jones - hogan hannan - t mac - anb weideman - melksham bench: harmes - spargo - anb - fritsch i am nervous as all get out about this game
  9. yeah, a facebook group i am part of has been saying the same - there's richmond at one end, carlton and brisbane at the other, and then a whole lot of ordinary in between
  10. that was a ghastly game of football
  11. i'd rather t mac play afl than vfl
  12. Sloane and Gaff are free agents, as is Dahlhaus, who are all thus far more ‘gettable’
  13. the greatest moment on australian current affairs ever
  14. needs more e, i guess...
  15. Not even mentioned in our official injury report video just uploaded to the club services Amateur hour!
  16. For those asking: Squad of 26 named tonight at 6.25, final 22 tomorrow at 5pm
  17. If the rumours re Brayshaw are true and Meth Coke finish top 6 - as looks likely - then we should be requesting their first round pick for Brayshaw; I think they’d laugh at us and offer a third round pick We have zero commodities worth a first round pick that we’d want to give up - i.e. Gawn, Petracca, Hogan, and Oliver - so it is a very, very difficult task to get back into this year’s first rounder Unless we offer up NEXT year’s first rounder as part of it as a package
  18. very much so whoever loses is 2-4 and can basically kiss any slim finals chances goodbye
  19. us, favourites, you say? guaranteed loss then innit
  20. whatwhat say what replied to Big Carl's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
we've been beaten in the second half three out of five times now it certainly suggests we come to a shuddering halt down the stretch against geelong we 'won' the second half by 41 to 17 against bears, lost 56 to 45 against north, won 62 to 34 against hawks, smashed 68 to 9 against tigers, lost 38 to 62
  21. the funny thing about this is that roos has said we were going to take billings if we'd held onto pick 2 that year he's as accurate a kick for goal as tomas bugg...
  22. But they are If we trade Salem and Tyson out - presumably for speculative draft picks (and we know how how bad we are at picking young talent) then we have NO ONE to come in to replace them, considering our mids at vfl level are JKH and Maynard Our midfield depth is atrocious Salem and Tyson are leaps and bounds ahead of ether of those guys or flanker depth like ANB, Harmes and Stretch Far too many NQRs in our side Also, remember how we recruited Melksham to supposedly add to our midfield rotation? He’s just another flanker - but he’s miles ahead of others Our list profile is lopsided to mid-paced outsiders - if we trade Salem and Tyson out we would be even more disastrously balanced
  23. Yet at the same time about 10k shorter than expected
  24. Salem and Tyson are two of our better players and automatic best 22 Unless we get a like for like replacement they’re going nowhere FMD, think about list make up people Lewis has a year to go; he’s not going to forego a year’s (very good) salary Vince May retire or he may play on - he’s automatic best 22 for us, so why not get another year and decent pay out of his body? McKenna and vandenBerg (and potentially Kent) don’t have the bodies to play afl Maynard, JKH and DJ sadly don’t look up to it And then it’s a matter of judicious trading; but if Salem and Tyson were parts of that conversation I’d be mighty surprised
