  1. i don't think enough is known about him yet. he's not delivered as much as i'd hoped he would when he joined us from the west.
  2. What a shambles we must've been that a bloke who said he was pain all the time whilst running was never properly diagnosed. I'm hoping like hell these days are behind us. All the best to Trenners, he's going to need it. Feet seem to be the new knees - super hard to come back from.
  3. Another young player who has previously been linked to us, out of contract at the end of the year, and yet to be offered a new one. probably a 'no' for mine as we don't need more half-back flankers whose skill is questionable.
  4. Didn't he just sign a new deal at the Dockers?
  5. what hodge did was one of the more deliberate dog acts i've seen. he's lucky wingard didn't suffer a severe injury. knowing the mrp, it'll be langford, dunstall and buckenara on the panel and he'll get off with a slap on the wrist.
  6. i'll see your options, and raise you... patrick dangerfield - free agent harley bennell and gc17 2016 second round pick - 2015 mfc first rounder and howe jack redden - 2016 mfc second round pick jed adcock - delisted free agent tom lynch - jimmy toumpas and 2016 mfc third round pick adam tomlinson - gc17 2016 second round pick james harmes - 2015 mfc 'last pick in draft' rookie upgrade aaron vandenberg - 2015 mfc 'second last pick in draft' rookie upgrade so in: patrick dangerfield harley bennell jack redden jed adcock tom lynch adam tomlinson out: howe jimmy toumpas 2015 first rounder 2016 third rounder garland (free agent) delisted: mckenzie riley jamar bail matt jones terlich (paid out) take to the draft: second, third and fourth round picks (plus two 'upgrades') two rookie list picks
  7. Mackay is, like Redden, a player we were rumoured to have made a significant offer to a couple of years ago.
  8. I think it more points to the lack of depth that we have around the ball. If Jones, Vince or Viney don't win it, we don't have anyone else to rotate through. Agreed we need skill, but we also need ball winners. Redden is a ball winner. If you can't see that he would immediately improve our side, then...well, clearly we have different ideas about areas we need to have clear improvement in. Mine would be: - ball winners - skill - run and carry - multidimensional tall options Redden would improve the first, Bennell for the middle two, plus Lynch and Tomlinson for the latter. If we could add all four of those players this offseason I'd be pleased.
  9. We currently run: - 9th for contested possessions - 18th for centre clearances - 9th for stoppages - 14th for clearances The addition of Redden would - theoretically - assist the improvement of all of those.
  10. One of the gaping holes on our list is winning contested ball...
  11. If we can get him as a delisted free agent, he'd easily be best 22 for at least next year and more than likely the next.
  12. Straight swap for Toumpas then? Kennedy is small but has talent.
  13. Didn't we try to trade for him in Roos' first off season at the helm? Would love him. 2015 and 2016 second round picks, plus another player? I imagine every club in Melbourne would like to add him - he's a very good player.
  14. Definitely not true. Foxtel Play carries it live on on PS3, and on my laptop, as does Foxtel Go.
  15. unless we trade our first pick i'd go weidemann over any of the mids in this draft side. he has the capacity to be the player of the draft.
  16. a carlton supporter i know swears blind he's worth a first rounder. and so is yarran. pfffffft. mind you, said carlton supporter who goes to a lot of underage games also says he doesn't think much of weitering - but that he's clearly the standout of what is a super-weak draft.
  17. what's henderson worth? i expect blues will want cats' round 1 pick, ~10. i agree with the sentiment that he's worth around the same as dawes, who was 20 in a far stronger draft. blues shouldn't be expecting more than the cats' second rounder i wouldn't have thought. would still prefer tom lynch or adam tomlinson over henderson.
  18. it's been a big day. the devil, as they say, will be in the detail.
  19. has all the hallmarks of being james strauss mk 2. maybe harrison wigg too. an underage half-back flanker who was expected to go into the midfield in his senior tac cup year, didn't, and now is being seen as a permanent rebounding half-back flanker.
  20. think he's getting the 'tough love' approach at the moment. he will be a player.
  21. according to the hun today, the players could get as little as 2-3 weeks if found guilty. hm...yeah, but nah.
