  1. unbelievable
  2. isn't he always...
  3. i'm the same gimme a saturday arvo at the footy to go to - i understand friday nights is the 'marquee' slot, but i don't think the scoring will be that much different from day to night necessarily football is made to be watched live, no matter day or night personally speaking the timeslot i can't stand is the twilight spot - it's neither here nor there, and in melbourne in winter it is FREEZING
  4. in terms of melbourne-based sides that are fun for a neutral to watch, it's hard to go past us
  5. ask him how it feels to replace jacobs as the best tagger / run-with player in the game?
  6. perhaps this is part of the reason we and a bunch of other clubs were so keen on him: http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-07-31/lack-of-ruckmen-could-leave-clubs-short
  7. so glad i never posted in this thread never doubted him...never thought he'd become "plugger mac" tho... isn't he something ridic like 31.7 from set shots this year?
  8. may is a liability because he gets suspended at least once a year 5 weeks last year, from memory, and already a couple this year he's a thug, yet a thug that will cost a team high picks: moore - from pies to sydney for pick 10ish may - from gc17 to pies for pick 10, second rounder pick 2 - from gc17 to adelaide for a fringe player, pick 8 and whatever our pick ends up being (say pick 12-14ish) lynch - to richmond as a free agent, gc17 get pick 2 as compo carlton will pick walsh with pick 1 and crows will get lukosious with pick 2 gc17 will hold picks 2, 8, 10, and pick 12-14ish and be granted a compo at the end of their first round for being appalling (brisbane got previously; afl will always protect their northern states investments) as well as two second round picks - they already traded their own to freo as part of the weller trade they're in complete re-build mode
  9. in terms of quarters won we do really well the issue is that when we lose quarters we REALLY lose quarters the run-on of goals from the likes of adelaide, geelong (twice), hawthorn, collingwood, north, even footscray, has resulted in heart palpitations in terms of preferred finals team, with the likes of viney and hibberd likely back for sydney, i'd really like this line-up for that round 21 game: B: Jetta - O Mac - Frost B: Vince - Hibberd - Lewis ? Jones - Brayshaw - Salem HF: Petracca - Hogan - Viney F: Melksham - T Mac - Garlett Foll: Gawn - Oliver - Harmes I/c: Spargo - Tyson - ANB - Fritsch Emerg: Hannan - VDB - Weideman - Hunt but obviously there will likely be players come in / out of form, in / out of favour, and hopefully no more freaking injuries! really, it means out line-up on opening bounce is: jetta - o mac vince - hibberd - frost - lewis - salem gawn - oliver - brayshaw - harmes - jones - viney petracca - hogan - melksham t mac - garlett bench: spargo - tyson - anb - fritsch i love what harmes is doing as a starting inside mid - he's not just tagging but winning his own hard ball and then using it well
  10. jesse has been carrying a bung shoulder since the first win against the dogs, i think? part of the reason he's only going up one-handed at most contests he also copped a hip flexor injury against the cats and wrenched his knee against the crows - which is why he can't jump at the ball and presumably is why he's playing from behind all the time he doesn't need a rest; he just needs management you do not 'rest' your best players when there's four weeks to go in the season and you're fighting for a spot in the 8
  11. barlow must surely come in, as should pearce hanley been absolutely dominant at neafl for weeks i'm interested to see if swallow gets up their midfield is actually okay, on paper at least
  12. He’s had a bung shoulder since the Footscray game two or so months ago, copped a hip flexor against the Cats last week, wrenched his knee against the Crows, apparently had gastro during the week - and is still running fifth in the Coleman, copping two players on him during most contests, and was integral to the last piece of play where ANB kicked the sealer
  13. who is your favourite genius, james hird or james joyce?
  14. technically if they threw the ball in the air and then connected it directly with their foot then that WOULD be their ball drop
  15. would only be a throw if a) it went to another player, b) it hit the ground, or c) he took it in his hands after 'dropping' the ball, I believe? as it did neither it's considered part of the kicking motion greatest ball drop of all time!
  16. jamie eliott pinged a hammy in the vfl again
  17. whatwhat say what replied to McQueen's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Ah, righto - I thought you intimating he was finished at afl level Whats he worth? Fourth rounder?
  18. whatwhat say what replied to McQueen's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
No one willing to give him a second chance?
  19. it's weird that at the same time that there's all this talk about how the afl must raise the player draft age that they're doing nothing to encourage the likes of the next kelly and fritsch et al to these glorified testing camps
  20. i'd still take avb for jkh
  21. Thread delivers(e)
  22. 6: Oliver 5: Harmes 4: Gawn 3: Plugger Mac 2: Lewis 1: ANB
  23. Ball drop of the year!

We’re ‘good ordinary’ - same as them That whole clutch of sides from basically 5-12 is super, super even, and we’re right in that mix
