  1. My impression has always been that heโ€™s a bit lax defensively
  2. maybe if you nominate a player i think it's cos you genuinely WANT him - we certainly would've taken both heeney and mills when we nominated them in consecutive years, but swans were always going to match green is meant to be a very inside midfielder type, i believe? we are not really in the market for one of those neither are adelaide with both crouch bros, sloane as their core midfield trio, plus gibbs as well under a new coach BUT if we do think he's the third best player in the draft - and there seems to be some love for that school of thought in some quarters - then perhaps we will nominate him if we have pick 3 cos we haven't split it interesting times!
  3. if we nominate him, then yes, they have to match pick 3 = 2234 points they need 80% of points in order to 'match' the bid but i was under the assumption that as long as they could accumulate the points with 'extra' picks they had in second and third rounds in order to do so, as i'm sure sydney did when they matched our bid for mills before we took oliver (and thank the football gods they did so!) however, my learned friends on demonland assure me that it's a case of they have to use points from their next available pick (pick 6 = 1751 points), as well as whatever else is required in order to be at 1787 points, which is what they'd need to match as the equivalent of pick 6's points less a 20% discount as an academy matching system whole thing is a farce
  4. godwin's law invoked; thread dead
  5. Even if we do, theyโ€™ll match Be interesting to see what they offer us for the pick
  6. So whatโ€™s the process for blocking someone again?
  7. But thatโ€™s not the MFCSS way?!??
  8. next year's second rounder, as per how we want to do it this year
  9. we really don't need any more key defenders
  10. i would be pretty unimpressed if we did that
  11. pick 12 and 18 are now with the aints - there's yr two first rounders for brad hill
  12. freo have said they want two first rounders for brad hill - well there ya go, there's two first rounders!
  13. St Kilda has completed a pick swap with GWS to turn a top-10 draft pick into two later first-round selections. The Giants have gained pick 6 and pick 59 in return for picks 12 and 18
  14. lucas was pretty clear that it'll happen late, once everything else has played out - they're working towards the wednesday deadline
  15. Just take pick 3 to the draft, add top end talent
  16. I donโ€™t believe they would not have to use 4 to match a Green nomination They could use points from other picks
  17. Howard only wants to play as a key back We donโ€™t need another key back
  18. Mark Stevens is reporting that Adelaide will part with Pick 4 to GWS to get in return Picks 12, 18 and 2020 1st rounder Even if we nominate Green with pick 3 GW$ will be able to match with late picks and still use pick 4 Whole thing is a farce
  19. Tory Dickson I would guess, as Dogs Four year offer to Bruce would push him out of their best 22 youโ€™d expect
  20. i would expect the sticking point for any prospective suitor is that the crows are prepared to trade him for bupkiss BUT they don't want to pay his wage
  21. if you believe kornes - and really, why wouldn't you take everything that bastion of truth says seriously? - then jj is owed $1.6m over the next two years no one wants to pay him
  22. actually it's identical to us - 13 seasons without playoff appearances they're one of the oldest basketball teams in existence yet they've won one title - in 51 - when they known as the rochester royals the kings WISH they were as successful as the dees!
  23. Tell that to fans of the 76ers or Knicks, who both tried tanking to - this far - different outcomes Not to mention Sacramento Kings, who have had 13 seasons without a playoff appearance
