  1. i understand his deal last year with hawks was a three year deal - his hawthorn contract states that he can only leave there if the job is a higher position; that’s why he couldn’t come last year as an assistant however, i am presuming everything is different in a post-covid world, and contracts aren't worth the paper they're written on
  2. get him in now and he's in prime position to step into the main coaching role
  3. excellent listen it's such a shame we got him closer to retirement age than wanting to really get down into the nitty gritty of being a ceo of a football club again as he's exactly the type of person you want in the role
  4. doesn't he??!? cracking first half of footy
  5. burgess seems totally invested in the club and the players based on the footage we have seen of him involved with the club - such as is in the video series about the pre-season (take 1, not take 2)
  6. it's not in that articles, it's the general 'vibe' from what is being discussed...allegedly
  7. nothing concrete in that story at all the general vibe around the trips seems to be mahoney, plapp, and probably matthews go, with richardson moving into mahoney's role i've not heard anything re chaplin and, quite frankly, our defence was strong this year so i'd be hesitant to shake things up enormously back there no idea re who they're looking at replacements in the coaching ranks
  8. wow, really? i had not heard that that's barely a change at all compared to what was being predicted throughout the home and away year
  9. just signed a new one-year deal! his time is now...
  10. it'll be interesting to see what gw$ do with all of cameron (presuming he stays), himmelberg, finlayson, and riccardi being tall yet they're not really 'power' forwards but they're more mobile forwards - and they all want to play that same role finlayson extended his deal, can't see them moving riccardi on, cameron has been one of the best forwards in the game for the last half of the decade...
  11. good luck to him; he's good enough to play a role for an afl club for at least another contract, if not a couple
  12. from my understanding he's on significant money at the peptides no doubt he's a seriously talented player, but very injury prone and inconsistent if he was amenable to remaining in melbourne - which seems fraught with danger as he's tried to engineer two trades 'home' to sa since he joined the bombers - and you could spread his salary over more years, then we'd be fools not to enquire a talented player
  13. GEELONG WEEK 1 FINALS UNDER CHRIS SCOTT 2020 QF - Lost to Port Adelaide by 16 points 2019 QF - Lost to Collingwood by 10 points. 2018 EF - Lost to Melbourne by 29 points. 2017 QF - Lost to Richmond by 51 points. 2016 QF - Defeated Hawthorn by 2 points (Isaac Smith missed goal after siren). 2015 - Did not make finals. 2014 QF - Lost to Hawthorn by 36 points. 2013 QF - Lost to Fremantle by 15 points. 2012 EF - Lost to Fremantle by 16 points. 2011 QF - Defeated Hawthorn by 31 points. glorious
  14. pretty sure report was amended to make it clear burgess was on a one-year deal
  15. he's not on anything like that sort of coin frost was a -100m player - runs 15, kicks it 50, then stands still while the ball sails over his head 35m from his inevitable turnover
  16. very happy to keep both
  17. nfl side from memory - offered him a small fortune but he couldn't get out of the deal with the demons
  18. mahoney gone; richo gets his role
  19. come home jesse, come home
  20. pear tiggas footscray meth coke
  21. everyone knew gawn was crocked; it's why he missed a succession of games towards the end of the year, and he clearly couldn't jump properly gawn on one knee >>>>>> any other ruckman in the competition
