  1. i keep telling myself that we're missing 9 of our ostensible best 22 and it's only a practice game but it's the same old story - can't hit targets, can't lay a tackle, don't run defensively
  2. good to see you can push may straight in the middle of the back and not have a free paid against you
  3. nibbler is by far and away the hardest running player in the side
  4. jordon is miles off being ready for senior footy
  5. if harmes is playing on a man...is there any chance he could actually play on the bont?
  6. our players can't hold their feet
  7. our next tier of mids are pretty ordinary - jordon, sparrow, baker can't clunk basic marks or get their hands on the footy
  8. we've had less than half as many possessions and trail by 3 points
  9. this is the most important thing we can get out of today
  10. three options: attend the game be a foxtel / kayo subscriber head to a pub that's showing it
  11. i wouldn't he competes harder than a lot of more ballyhooed players
  12. that's the key, isn't it a defensive mindset will make the world of difference - tiggas have one player (neck tatts) who doesn't work back defensively because he's so damaging forward of centre last year i reckon we had three mids who worked both ways - gawn (who really ONLY pushed back, never forward), viney, and oliver
  13. Interesting that Niall and Robbo in the little paper are saying the same thing The messaging out of the club sure is consistent!
  14. fyfe is also nursing something apparently
  15. fyfe also nursing something?
  16. dr gerard healy initially speculated it could be a medial, but then changed it to potentially cartilage damage i think it's fair to say he won't be fit for round 1 and potentially quite a bit longer than that he's had a rotten run with injury
  17. i asked peter jackson at the time whether it was being considered as an option as @old dee said, it was ruled out as an option due to no room to grow, existing infrastructure in place needing a complete re-do, and stonnington council being, well, stonnington council
  18. key points are the messages the club has been selling all preseason work much harder defensively bring yr teammates into it backline is sound, midfield and forwards are where improvement is really needed expect many more rotations thru midfield in 2021 preseason focus has been on improved kicking skills in particular gameplan focus is on becoming a forward-half side
  19. My guess at squad of 26: May, Salem, Harmes, Petracca, Jackson, Lever, Spargo, Gawn, Oliver, Langdon, Laurie, Bowey, Tomlinson, Jordon, Rivers, McDonald, Hunt, Neal-Bullen, Fritsch, Sparrow, Baker, Petty, Chandler, M Brown, Jetta, Lockhart
  20. with oliver, jones, brayshaw, harmes, plus trac wanting midfield time, there was clearly no place for him anymore has had a rotten run with injury at north, hopefully he's back to his best for them...except against us
  21. solid win by 44 points, should've been more than 12 goals tho - we wasted a fair few opportunities really wish at least the match day thread for the aflw was on the main page
  22. yeah, i said that and i think they kicked 5 goals to 1 or something for the rest of the quarter :) dees v aints in aflw is far more entertaining
  23. pfft, weed kicked 6 goals against a vfl side once upon a time too meanwhile, peptides look awful
