  1. I went to the 2017 gf - Lever was outstanding in the first quarter, okay in the second, and like most of his defensive teammates completely overwhelmed by weight of ball i50 against after half time Tigers were absolutely dominant from midway thru second quarter onward Lever is a very, very good player and I remain happy that he’s on our list Just get the body right and get his touch back and he’ll be right
  2. you seem to miss the point where he needs to agree to a trade too, and he might not WANT to go north to finish his career, seeing as his wife is based in melbourne, her job is in melbourne, his kids are forming friendship circles here, his brother is about to return to the state, the rest of his family is based here? it's not just down to the team in the afl - the players have a LOT of control over their own destiny, much more so than in the majority of international sports also, there's NO WAY if gc17 are gifted a priority end point pick - which seems a fait accompli - that they won't be taking rowell and anderson as best mates to play together

with the dearth of small forwards who can rotate through the midfield and the demand for them, butler will be in demand at the end of the season from multiple clubs i suspect could yet end up a two-time premiership player if one of castagna, rioli, bolton, etc. were to get injured on the run-in to the tiggas winning it all

historically jones was paid as an a-grader; he's about to be downgraded in player payment structure a c-grader apart from the a-graders who have come to us in the last two seasons (lever and may), i would suspect gawn, oliver, brayshaw, t mac would all be being paid at a-grade level having negotiated new contracts over the last two years as well
  5. Far more realistic

    Six twice I thought?
  7. Hawks want way too much for him

Eddie kicked over a third of his goals against GC17
  9. Yup, hoping it’s Bonar of those options, but only cos he’s the only one I can remember seeing playing for their senior side of that list
  10. It’s cos the commission meets to make decisions on Brownlow night Its gonna happen and I really don’t think it matters that much GC17’s issues go far deeper than their access to talented kids
  11. I used to get my sports clobber from Earl’s shop because it was, well, Earl’s shop
  12. I thought the BE for the carpark was 35k? Might’ve come down since that was a few years ago...
  13. we would get zero compo think waite going to north
  14. really? i see him as a small, lightweight player - he's not that much better than someone like lockyer, albeit younger
  15. i wonder, if we do execute the split with the two picks in the teens that gw$ hold, whether we'll go for brodie kemp, the kid who did his knee but was originally touted as a top five pick?
  16. aiden bonar would be the logical third part of the 3 = 12 + 14 + X equation, given that he's rumoured to have been wanting to get out of gw$ as quick as he can - doesn't / won't have the opportunity to play as a mid in their line-up, more than likely, and has regularly dominated at (that admittedly significantly) lower level in two seasons, averaging 20.1 possessions, 2.3 marks, 6.2 tackles, and kicking 17.13 in 29 games neafl stats: https://www.neafl.com.au/season/players/1004894 official bio: Born to a Scottish father and Papua New Guinean mother, Aiden Bonar became a GIANT with the club’s first pick at the 2017 NAB AFL Draft (pick 11). Bonar is a powerfully built, versatile tall who excels at stoppages and has a burst of speed away from congestion. He is strong overhead and very competitive and after overcoming two ACL injuries during his junior football career. Bonar had an impressive debut season in 2018, kicking five goals in four games. scouting profile from draft central: Inside Midfielder/General Forward (Haileybury College/Dandenong Stingrays) 08/03/1999 | 188.6cm | 86.5kg Scouting notes: Build like a brick sh!thouse. After recovering from two knee surgeries after his first ACL graft didn’t take, Bonar has presence about him around the ground, mostly playing up forward as a third tall – but has pushed into the midfield for longer periods with each game he plays. His pressure is very good and he can lay bone crunching tackles. Has a good burst of speed and is strong overhead. Suggestion is he’ll end up a full time midfielder. Possesses a big upside. Strengths: Kicking, acceleration, X-Factor, versatility Improvements: Endurance, consistency Combine test results: 20m Sprint (secs) – 2.90 | Agility (secs) – 8.30 | Yo-Yo Test (level) –20.5

    Back to the Blues: https://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/afl/disenchanted-eddie-betts-to-quit-crows-leaving-city-with-the-blues/news-story/3464dbe2a3920c9cde8cdf92ec4a4b78
  18. Yep, delisted free agent as a rookie would work well for Kerr
  19. Beauty of this is we hold the whip hand to a greater or lesser degree GW$ want a gun at #3 (presuming a pointy end priority pick) and to use significantly later picks than 11 and 13 to match the Green bid, which would seem certain to come at #4 from the crows This is a real opportunity to maximise our return
  20. I’m disgusted about the dispatch discussion Jenkins is cooked
  21. Jenkins has been discussed in dispatches ...shudder...
  22. Absolutely fantastic achievement

quick, skilled, but had a rotten run with injury
  24. true, but over the last three years, keath has played 30 games, compared to 54 for o mac, 48 for frost, 43 for may, even 36 for lever with an acl impacting two seasons keath would be our second oldest kpp defender behind may - we'd want to be very certain about bringing another in given it seems to be one area we have genuine depth in, particularly if you include petty (who i like as a forward) or t mac (who can clearly play both ends)
