  1. no, collingwood gave away treloar, stephenson, and phillips for sweet fanny adams today so that they weren't over the cap by $2m in 2021
  2. pick 2 = 2517 points pick 7 and 19 = 2592 points but i agree, i can't understand why north supposedly want to rid themselves of a chance to take a top 3 kpf (juh, thilthorpe, mcdonald) or the #1 rated key back (grainger-barass)
  3. general 'vibe' is that north's pick 2 is up for grabs and that gc17 will likely only want ONE pick as they will bring in two top 15-20 rated players at NO COST due to their frankly outrageous zone allocation of the nt - they currently hold 5, 27, 37, 76, 84 18 and 19 should definitely be flipped - they are the equivalent points value of pick 5, which gc17 are pretty unlikely to give up peptides and the filth both have serious hard-ons for logan mcdonald from all reports; they both want that pick 2 from north our best hope might be to flip 18 and 19 for pick 8 and 44 pick 18 and 19 = 1933 points pick 8 and 44 = 1898 points peppies can then do, say, 7 and 19 for pick 2 and all of a sudden - in this year's top 20 - they have 2, 6, and 18, north have 7, 11, and 19, and we end up with pick 8 the biggest stumbling block might be that north might see more value in flipping 2 for 14 and 16 from the filth
  4. sooo....... B: Hibberd - May - Lever HB: Salem - Tomlinson - Rivers C : Langdon - Petracca - Harmes HF: Melksham - Weideman - Hunt F: Fritsch - B Brown - Pickett Foll: Gawn - Oliver - Viney I/c: Jackson - Spargo - Brayshaw - Baker Emerg: Jones - vandenBerg - McDonald - Smith impossible to factor in the picks until we know what we're getting really, particularly when the picks are likely (?) to change
  5. wtf are we playing at?? Brisbane will trade picks 18, 19 and a future second to Melbourne for a future first-rounder, 25, 68 and 69
  6. helps our bargaining position for further on-trading to get into the first round melbourne's 25+28 = 1433 points (equivalent pick 10) north melbourne's 26+30 = 1338 points (equivalent pick 11)
  7. i reckon we're definitely targeting whatever 2020 pick footscray get from the peptides - pick 7 / 8 / 9 sort of range
  8. i reckon it's all about packaging up picks for points value we won't have 25 and 28 at the draft
  9. apparently you only have to use 1 pick in this year's draft too? i hope we're targeting the pick that the dogs are getting for dunkley from the peptides - pick 9 or so
  10. it's not QUITE one red paperclip, but it's not bad! to go back seven or so years... josh kelly + jarman impey = christian salem, jayden hunt, marty hore, and ben brown
  11. t mac as the new jordan roughead? no muss, no fuss lock-down defender...
  12. essentially preuss for sideshow bob; outstanding work
  13. has he signed a new contract?
  14. ben brown should happen; would be nice to get him on the 'cheap' andrew phillips for a token late pick and then wait to do the pick upgrade swap til just before / on draft night
  15. in and out of the best 22 and i honestly see him being much the same at footscray
  16. higgins is also still one of the best at his role in the competition cats have arguably paid significant 'overs' but if you factor in smith as well in the trade it's smith and higgins - two genuinely good players - for pick 30 cats are about getting a premiership now; they want to give danger than premiership he (doesn't?) deserve
  17. atrocious output i firmly believe that he stayed in the side only for 'leadership' for the f50 crew - no one else of our core 5 (weed, lj, pickett, spargo, avb, melksham) had anything like his experience needs a big 2021
  18. we recruited him to play on the wing at the g; only got a couple of opportunities and his game against the cats was pretty positive - if he'd taken his time and gone back and nailed that set show we might've made finals his form once we headed up north was hideous but i thought once he came back into the side as a key defender i thought he played a really important role it'll be interesting to see how the footy dept utilise him in 2021 and beyond; for mine, he looks a natural part of the backline as he's good one on one, has excellent endurance to run with the 'power running' forwards, and is a neat kick he cost us nothing other than salary cap contribution so...his acquisition worked for me
  19. bargain for us, good get for north, hurts the filth it's a win for mine!
  20. weed's best game for us - geelong elimination final in 2018 - he basically played as a chf, roaming everywhere and doing some (minimal) relief ruck work
  21. i think yr missing the point of what i said - he's worth the EQUIVALENT of a first round pick; he's an established regular goalkicker and it's not true that nobody else wants him; we were into him, as too were at least the aints and the peptides who both had 'dialogue' with him i think two picks in the 30-40 range is an absolute bargain for a top range full forward at his peak years
  22. i'd personally have no issues giving two picks in the 30s - they'll end up being closer to picks in the 40s brown is easily worth a first round draft pick equivalent imo - he's ready to go and a gun, particularly if you compare with cameron over the last five seasons i think it's perfectly justifiable for north to demand more than pick 31 or 33, for instance, given the fact that gw$ are rejecting 3 first round picks for a player who has similar numbers to that which we'd be looking to give up two speculative picks in the 30-40 range
  23. and hore i think it'll actually work out as... salem, hunt, hore, brown FOR pick 2 (josh kelly), pick 20 (which became 21, which was jarman impey)
  24. very happy with that bit of business!
