  1. the vic 2022 election should be interesting - o'brien (or, more likely, his replacement) will undoubtedly make it a 'lockdown election' and the result may give an indication as to what effect the murdoch approach to screaming anti-labor sentiment at every opportunity actually has in reality
  2. mostly deviated septums, surely...
  3. fritsch is our leading goalkicker, he plays as a tall but isn't a tall, he's great on the lead but not contested marks, and he runs his socks off every week to power up and down the ground for all that...he's the logical 'out' for sideshow bob...but i can't see it happening
  4. this is why i have dr. d on ignore; his doom and gloom is positively exhausting we'll all be 'rooned, said hanrahan!
  5. heppell is their jones - just a good loyal honest citizen and a no muss no fuss skipper
  6. i don't think we're a 'sexy' side compared to footscray, the bears, or even the peptides, who are all high attack, high scoring teams we're more grinders who stop the oppo scoring and keep them at arm's length from us; it's why we don't score super heavily but neither do our opposition i don't think there's any doubt that we are very well respected by oppo coaches etc because they're trying to work out how to stop us stopping them - they have to play high risk, high reward football to take us on, which is obviously fraught with danger given how well we are set up defensively i'd rather be respected by other football clubs than the media
  7. Cal Twomey has Mac Andrew as the 12th best prospect in the national draft … Cal Twomey's Phantom Form Guide: Best draft prospects ranked Mac Andrew Ruckman 200cm/70kg 12/4/03 Dandenong Stingrays/Vic Country It was Andrew's start to the season that caught the eye of scouts, with the Dandenong Stingrays big man putting in some exciting performances as an athletic ruckman who can also follow up at ground level. He blitzed the opening game of the season with 22 disposals, six clearances and 11 hitouts against Gippsland and continued in the same vein to be selected for the NAB AFL Academy's VFL clash. Concussion ruled him out in recent weeks. Andrew, who was born in Egypt and whose parents are South Sudanese, is tied to Melbourne's Next Generation Academy but the Dees won't get to match a bid if it comes inside the first 20 picks.
  8. juh's interest in afl is, anecdotally, about the edges of the afl lifestyle rather than an afl life in an of itself as beveridge has alluded to, he needs to get serious about being an afl player before he'll be an afl player
  9. geelong or ballarat i suspect same could be true for the meth coke game
  10. i received an email from the mfc, the afl, and ticketek yesterday telling me when tix were on sale
  11. only foreseeable change is sideshow bob in for... i honestly have no idea sparrow is the usual suspect in terms of in / out changes
  12. didn't stringer have nearly half his possessions and scoreboard impact in the first quarter alone? he ran out of puff, as is standard and in relation to the 'who is our next hibberd?' the homegrown answer is trent rivers (who is slightly taller but less chunky than pig), the import option is brayden maynard (who is basically the filth's hibberd currently)
  13. Hoping they continue to strive to finish mid table and do themselves out of a high pick I wish nothing but mediocrity upon them
  14. reminded me of the win over swans - just grinding away til we got the 4 points
  15. 6: lever 5: may 4: salem 3: petracca 2: brayshaw 1: oliver
  16. Sam make stuff up? Well, I never…
  17. He gets pushed under the ball really easily at this stage so he obviously needs to add strength but he seems to read the ball okay, works well within the defensive structure, can takes a decent mark, and seems a reliable user of the ball primarily cos he doesn't do dumb things or try to do too much He's developing and had a long way to go but you'd expect he'll be part of our back line for the next decade at least
  18. Weird contest at the moment Tigers are breaking down across half forward
  19. priority selection 'gift' for the bears; we - and every other club - never had a chance
  20. clangerfilled
  21. geelong are a dirty side bears should be miles up
