  1. Cal Twomey has Mac Andrew as the 12th best prospect in the national draft … Cal Twomey's Phantom Form Guide: Best draft prospects ranked Mac Andrew Ruckman 200cm/70kg 12/4/03 Dandenong Stingrays/Vic Country It was Andrew's start to the season that caught the eye of scouts, with the Dandenong Stingrays big man putting in some exciting performances as an athletic ruckman who can also follow up at ground level. He blitzed the opening game of the season with 22 disposals, six clearances and 11 hitouts against Gippsland and continued in the same vein to be selected for the NAB AFL Academy's VFL clash. Concussion ruled him out in recent weeks. Andrew, who was born in Egypt and whose parents are South Sudanese, is tied to Melbourne's Next Generation Academy but the Dees won't get to match a bid if it comes inside the first 20 picks.
  2. juh's interest in afl is, anecdotally, about the edges of the afl lifestyle rather than an afl life in an of itself as beveridge has alluded to, he needs to get serious about being an afl player before he'll be an afl player
  3. geelong or ballarat i suspect same could be true for the meth coke game
  4. i received an email from the mfc, the afl, and ticketek yesterday telling me when tix were on sale
  5. only foreseeable change is sideshow bob in for... i honestly have no idea sparrow is the usual suspect in terms of in / out changes
  6. didn't stringer have nearly half his possessions and scoreboard impact in the first quarter alone? he ran out of puff, as is standard and in relation to the 'who is our next hibberd?' the homegrown answer is trent rivers (who is slightly taller but less chunky than pig), the import option is brayden maynard (who is basically the filth's hibberd currently)
  7. Hoping they continue to strive to finish mid table and do themselves out of a high pick I wish nothing but mediocrity upon them
  8. reminded me of the win over swans - just grinding away til we got the 4 points
  9. 6: lever 5: may 4: salem 3: petracca 2: brayshaw 1: oliver
  10. Sam make stuff up? Well, I never…
  11. He gets pushed under the ball really easily at this stage so he obviously needs to add strength but he seems to read the ball okay, works well within the defensive structure, can takes a decent mark, and seems a reliable user of the ball primarily cos he doesn't do dumb things or try to do too much He's developing and had a long way to go but you'd expect he'll be part of our back line for the next decade at least
  12. Weird contest at the moment Tigers are breaking down across half forward
  13. priority selection 'gift' for the bears; we - and every other club - never had a chance

  19. not til the end of 2023 https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/905029/locked-in-clarry-commits-to-melbourne
  20. amon wanted to come home to victoria two years ago but ultimately decided to stay the reason why maynard should be our #1 target is that he's a pre-agent we've adjusted various contracts over the last few years - big extensions for petracca, salem, lever, gawn, viney, harmes - and given that there was talk we were super keen on zerrett and now there's talk that we have been into maynard for some time i would say it's extremely likely that we have a fair bit of salary cap space cleared out as a result, especially with the likes of jones, jetta, and hibberd coming to the end of their contracts i think it's worth remembering that jetta signed a new contract as a prospective free agent in the wake of an all oztrayan season; he wouldn't be on chump change
  21. i wonder if, given the forecast, we might go 'small' with just viney in for weideman alternatively, i remember the sydney game which was similar and sideshow bob and plugger mac were dominant with 7 of our 10 goals between them i still lean towards... OUT: weideman, sparrow IN: viney, b brown
