  1. He gets pushed under the ball really easily at this stage so he obviously needs to add strength but he seems to read the ball okay, works well within the defensive structure, can takes a decent mark, and seems a reliable user of the ball primarily cos he doesn't do dumb things or try to do too much He's developing and had a long way to go but you'd expect he'll be part of our back line for the next decade at least
  2. Weird contest at the moment Tigers are breaking down across half forward
  3. priority selection 'gift' for the bears; we - and every other club - never had a chance
  4. clangerfilled
  5. geelong are a dirty side bears should be miles up
  6. Narkle is an inside mid who doesn’t tackle Pass

  9. not til the end of 2023 https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/905029/locked-in-clarry-commits-to-melbourne
  10. amon wanted to come home to victoria two years ago but ultimately decided to stay the reason why maynard should be our #1 target is that he's a pre-agent we've adjusted various contracts over the last few years - big extensions for petracca, salem, lever, gawn, viney, harmes - and given that there was talk we were super keen on zerrett and now there's talk that we have been into maynard for some time i would say it's extremely likely that we have a fair bit of salary cap space cleared out as a result, especially with the likes of jones, jetta, and hibberd coming to the end of their contracts i think it's worth remembering that jetta signed a new contract as a prospective free agent in the wake of an all oztrayan season; he wouldn't be on chump change
  11. i wonder if, given the forecast, we might go 'small' with just viney in for weideman alternatively, i remember the sydney game which was similar and sideshow bob and plugger mac were dominant with 7 of our 10 goals between them i still lean towards... OUT: weideman, sparrow IN: viney, b brown
  12. rankine has a huge amount of talent, just needs someone to harness it and make him work
  13. i don't know why we'd be chasing blokes who can't make their current side if we're chasing maynard then there's obviously some wiggle room in our salary cap, so i'd rather target: brayden maynard (filth) adam cerra (freo) karl amon (pear) ben king (gc17) izak rankine (gc17)
  14. outstanding news, thanks @Grand New Flag yes, i believe max is still at casey
  15. isn't our first pick, at this stage, in the mid-30s?
  16. Top 5 in the Bluey: Oliver, Gawn, Petracca, Lever, Salem Most improved (other than T Mac): in order, i'd go Pickett, Lever, Salem - they've all gone from very good players to at least all oztrayan squad of 40 inclusions
  17. this their speed of ball movement and risk / reward style of football is the sort that really troubles us
  18. puddy-tatts v peptides = friyay nite
  19. i will happily admit - i thought based on where we took him in the draft, his pedigree, his height, broad shoulders, his seeming professionalism, his noted ability to build his body to 'senior' level over the last five years, and then his form in the vfl and in the afl at the end of 2018 that he WAS going to be an out and out gun he's instead unfortunately possibly not just a 'good, ordinary' afl key forward but instead a player who is too good for vfl, not good enough for afl he looks bereft of confidence currently and his trade value will have diminished significantly since returning to the afl side and routinely failing to impress
  20. we have three players on our injury list three! halfway thru the year!!! what even is this world in which we're in... half our team is clearly gonna come down with covid on the eve of the finals, right?
  21. trade him for ben simmons
