  1. buddy and the cygnets pear footscray meth coke carltank filth crows us dockers no confidence in swans, dogs, us, dockers in particular, plus there could be a host of other upsets really even round that should be pretty entertaining
  2. i would expect it to be permanent tbh
  3. i'd be very pleased if we get over 40k the ticketing system is just too hard for the average fan and we won't get the train-up crowd from sleepy hollow at that 3.20pm timeslot
  4. i presume it's outside the official fta ratings period so less incentive to have a high-cost product on air
  5. no more thursday nite games in this bracket so saturday nite is ch 7's #2 slot
  6. i've always been an advocate to reduce the competition to 14 teams (goodbye northern franchises, saints, north) or 12 and everyone plays each other home and away in a 26- or 22-round season it won't happen tho the fact that ed is promoting a 20 team competition is in keeping with the whispers out of docklands for the last five or six years that the afl is more focussed on expansion than contraction as others have said, his entire statement is high on popular statements and low on realistic outcomes - all about 'rehabilitation of ed' than anything else
  7. as they should be - playing fast, exciting, high-scoring football and are regularly one of the most-watched sides over the last two decades on free-to-air due to being in the most populous city and incredibly successful
  8. the most hilarious thing about dimma's suggestion is that he didn't even know the name of the player - that's how low on the totem pole he is plus i believe he was originally a queensland academy zone player in the first place? gc17 wouldn't want to 'loan' some unproven kid as a stand-in ruckman anyway - they'd be more likely to target mabior chol as a player who CAN play ruck at afl level as already proven
  9. he sticks with gw$ he's earning $8m over the next 8 - i would expect gw$ are competitive again before north are
  10. it's the colin sylvia special! jack watts was also a master at it
  11. yep be interesting to see where they fall
  12. be great if we could have a highly rated academy kid - or two! - in a year in which we don't have a first round pick
  13. they invested in these kids since they were under 12s and gave up points at the draft table in order to claim them - braeden campbell cost the points equivalent of pick 5 and and errol gulden cost them pick 32...before discounts what they should not have been able to do is have any 'discount' applied to them same goes for the dogs claiming jamarra ugle-hagan with pick 1 in 2020 and (probably) the filth with nick daicos with pick 1 later this year
  14. fwiw, the sanfl kicked off last weekend
  15. Wouldn’t surprise me in the least if they win all 12 games they play at home The shape of the new ground also sets them up beautifully to replicate their game style to the G too
  16. i thought the way he handled the tag was pretty smart - he took de boer forward as much as he could; just a shame he couldn't kick the goals when in the centre square, he also positioned himself way out wide on the wing which completely threw gw$ for a loop - all of a sudden it was only two mids each at the fall of the ball rather than three as is the norm at centre square rotations i've never seen a hard-tagged inside mid do that before
  17. i would expect he would be in significant demand from teams that want to be successful - he's a smart footballer who makes good decisions with the ball in hand but also works hard defensively i'm more worried about him leaving than clayton or petracca, for instance, as a successful team - like, say, richmond or sydney - could offer him a significant contract that blows us out of the water in terms of offer
  18. oliver >>> zerrett for mine
  19. fwiw shaw backtracked at a million miles an hour re trac going to the filth on 3aw became much more of a 'every club would be looking at him!' vague statement rather than a determinative 'pies are gonna get petracca woot woot!' statement
  20. he returned today
  21. i think it's fair to say that clayton is gonna have the o'connor tag next sunday he's been terrific on neale and titchell in consecutive weeks
  22. talented young ruckman coming thru the pipeline? how on earth does he qualify for us?
  23. Just two mid to lower tier teams; Cats are missing their cream and Hawks are just bog ordinary
