  1. teams being named the night before is the new normal coaches liked it, wagering companies liked it, afl wasn't fussed, it's only the FANS who don't like it and, pfft, as if they count
  2. i thought jurrah was gonna be as good as goodes sublime talent
  3. their first win was in adelaide - at footy park they've never won at adelaide oval
  4. 28,483 at docklands to see josh bruce GO COMPLETELY MAD that's pretty good for a crappy timeslot with the roof closed on fta on the first day of a four day weekend
  5. 202cm is massive imo! it's not just height tho, it's mobility - grundy's natural instinct is to sit himself between the arcs and provide the cut out and / or outlet target, allowing him to get involved in chains of ball movement he's very good around the contest with quick hands too fourth best ruckman in the game behind gawn, goldstein, and nic nat if push came to shove, i probably think stef martin provides more value too
  6. hm, i'd say their bottom six are pretty much all below even being 'good, ordinary' players
  7. Both teams are ‘full effort’ sides much more so than they have been in recent seasons Still reckon they will both by bottom six at the end of the year tho
  8. one thing the new STAND! rule has done is definitely open up leading space i'm really excited to see what brown can do
  9. after the anzac eve game at their blundstone fortress ben brown almost certain to debut for the dees that round?
  10. 2025
  11. he's a classic good, ordinary player will beat up on poor sides
  12. can bruce kick 10? has 8.2
  13. unless footscray completely take their foot off the pedal this will be 120+ they're coasting and kicking goals for fun
  14. it really is dees circa 2008 bad
  15. Most games with Port Adelaide - 86 - so falls short of being a chance for consecutive years of a super talent being called out and 'claimed' by a top tier team.
  16. goldstein should've pushed harder a couple of years back to go to the cats with all the other geriatrics - he has been an excellent player for a long time and probably 'deserves' more success than he's had / will have in the twilight of his career
  17. it is pretty rare for ch 7 to air two interstate sides against each other as a fta broadcast thinking about it further and factoring in the games set for the same round, i think the one against the bears might be a chance for the 3.20pm spot on sunday from the alice, and sydney far more likely to be fox but it could also be the sunday fta spot rd 7 vs north - fox sports (sunday at 1.10pm) rd 8 vs sydney - fox sports (sunday at 1.10pm) rd 9 vs carlton - toss up but you'd think fox sports (saturday afternoon at 2.10pm 1.45pm) rd 10 vs adelaide crows - fox sports (saturday night at 7.25pm) rd 11 vs footscray - channel 7 (saturday night at 7.25pm or sunday arvo at 3.20pm) rd 12 vs brisbane lions - channel 7 (sunday arvo at 3.20pm) rd 13 vs collingwood - channel 7 (monday at 3.20pm) a lot may factor in to how we go in the next round or two and whether they actually only do up til round 10
  18. also something for all defenders to note for the rest of the round - players on the defensive side wrapping their arms around the oppo are getting pinged every time rule of the week for round 3!
  19. josh bruce set for a bag be interesting to see how big the crowd is 28,057 there last nite
  20. current mix seems to, at the opening bounce: gawn oliver petracca pickett then the rotations seem to be: jackson for gawn viney for pickett jordon for petracca sparrow for oliver at some stages late in quarters in particular anb and jones roll through too i like the variety - makes us far less predictable
  21. As Horne is the step-son of Fabian Francis, is he eligible for anyone as a father-son? or did he not play enough games to qualify for us, the bears, or the power?
  22. while laitham vandermeer might be of interest to us - cracker name that he has - hes just one of a couple of other footscray players out of contract i like the look of of: ed richards laitham vandermeer cody weightman pastrick lipinski roarke smith also very interested to see what they do with jason johanissen, who is back for his first game this season this week after stewing in the practices matches for the magoos for the opening two rounds of the afl season he's only 28, 29 at the start of 2022, with one year remaining on his contract
  23. i thought it was fairly well accepted that clayton wasn't a happy camper last year? afaik, he didn't request a trade and no offer was forthcoming for him from a rival club i remain confident he'll sign a new deal with us at some stage this year and go on to become a demon legend
  24. Brodie Grundy had 54 hitouts ... Brisbane’s ruck, Tom Fullarton, had three. Collingwood only won the clearances by five.
