  1. i suspect flagmantle and meth coke might alternate as the oppo every year similarly, this may be part of the quid pro quo of radelayed being locked in as 'gil's gather round' for the next few years; a free kick to wa football there's no chance they'd combine teams
  2. as it stands we have one - chandler - available for rd 1, given pickett's suspension, spargo's lack of match play, and pup brown's role as a wing it would make sense if henderson was the chap we were chasing
  3. at least based on vfl performances, he would seem to be a more likely afl-level small forward than roy george be interesting to see whether henderson or culley is preferred at this stage
  4. el jefe into the best 22, sharp to sub, laurie to be carryover emergency
  5. Previously the pear were ā€œcautiously optimisticā€ https://archive.sen.com.au/news/2023/02/28/port-adelaide-cautiously-optimistic-in-luring-connected-pickett-to-alberton/index.html
  6. Is this the same Kornes who said he was šŸ’Æ going to the pear? Absolute oxygen thief
  7. Is this yr innie speaking?

  9. I’ve seen this said repeatedly Still yet to see it play out on field They look like they’ll be great… let’s see Also, Goodwin’s 5th season in charge saw us win a premiership, taking Goodwin to a 5-1 finals record Longmuir’s finals record is 1-1 in 5 completed seasons
  10. flagmantle were meant to be a serious finals contender shortly after they were invented - failed to achieve much, despite having some super players flagmantle were meant to be a serious finals contender after they poached ross lyon in the dead of the night - failed to achieve much, made one grand final, despite having pavlich, one of the greatest footballers of his era flagmantle were meant to be a serious finals contender under longmuir - have thus far failed to achieve much, made one finals series in 5 years i don't know why anyone takes them seriously nor why any sensible player would want to go there
  11. me either what i am convinced by is that may + lever + petty is a better back 3 than may + lever + mcdonald, both in 2021, 2025, and in to the future petty will assume the role as our #1 tall defender once may retires - super 1:1, excellent defending the aerial ball, zones well, disposes of it neatly
  12. try halfway thru 2024 - had been down back til he was shunted forward one week in the vfl; next week he was playing seniors as a forward plugger mac said last year that his ankles make it hard for him to play as a forward - i don't quite understand why, but i presume it's something to do with the running and pivoting required our forward structure in 2024 and going, ahem, forward would seem to be set at van rooyen, turner, fritsch, and then one of jefferson / johnson / insert-mobile-tall-here
  13. i think jackson and pickett would be fighting it out with chad warner, anderson, serong, and young as who falls out of the top 5 picks the list goes on; rowell, rivers, greens, flanders, day, georgiades, weightman, bergman, keidi coleman - that draft was stacked with top tier talent
  14. peak demonland; proving that pandemic may - or may not - be a global phenomenon fwiw, listened to an ny times daily podcast during the week about bird flu; it's a-comin' https://www.nytimes.com/2025/02/13/podcasts/the-daily/bird-flu-eggs.html sounds like veterinarians are coming down with it: https://www.nytimes.com/2025/02/13/science/cdc-bird-flu-infections.html
  15. What’s he done this time
  16. i vote for culley, based purely on the speculation of trackwatchers as i have, frankly, no idea... ...but gimme more depth in the midfield
  17. and two years ago kornes was saying he was homesick for the pear i think the medja just goes "indigenous player? must want to be in sa...no wait...wa! hang on, maybe it's the nt?"
  18. ah, the mfcss is strong in you... he stays, he stays; he goes, he goes - we won't be unrewarded if he does choose to go, and flagmantle continue to pay a fortune to put together a side that...has made finals once in longmuir's five completed seasons in charge there's no point worrying about something that MIGHT happen when there's a full season to come
  19. slightly outdated - kayo basic is now $40pm so $480 a year; $350 says it's a $180 discount which is pretty decent; kayo one at $25m is $300, so getting the 4k version for an extra $50 a year is a decent buy but my gosh kayo is getting expensive; i had it when it was $5 a month thru telstra for at least the first 18-24 months, then it went up to $15 for year 3, then $35, then i cancelled it daz n taking over would, you'd imagine, see the price approaching $50 in the not too distant future, which may be a bridge too far for many, particularly if they lose the espn content
  20. ultimately mcadam might be a good footballer...but he can't play football
  21. interesting that with mcvee being ruled out for the first part of the season that rivers has been repositioned as a back flanker for the internal trial game mcdonald in the 'a team' as may is set to suit up for the indigenous game, i assume
  22. reads to me like he knows he's under contract and can't force a trade
  23. sounds like they've gone in optimistically; might come out misty optically
  24. Little paper version: ā€˜Have to do my time’: Pickett breaks silence on trade reports Choice quotes: Pressed on whether he’d like to move to Perth to play for Fremantle, Pickett added: ā€œI’m still contracted at Melbourne. Asked whether his text messages specifically outlined a desire to play for Fremantle, Pickett said: ā€œI just text like general friends. I’m pretty close with some of them.ā€ ā€œBeing away in Melbourne, there’s always a bit of homesickness but I’m still contracted and I still have to do my time there,ā€ he said. ā€œWe always have open and honest conversations. To be able to express myself and express my homesickness as a part of that relationship means we’re pretty close.ā€
