He's contracted and wouldn't have signed the contract unless he was keen on the club he loves. What an extraordinary human being.

The word from the Harbour City is that Collingwood is heavily into Peatling. This should serve as a warning to those in the Tracc to Collingwood camp because the Pies aren’t investing in a chase for Petracca as well as another midfielder. They have neither the cap space nor the ammunition for a trade.

The club has a penchant for players from WA with funny names and we need a ruckman who would work well as a break glass in case of fire with Max. AFL clubs reportedly monitoring WAFL ruckman
  4. It’s our second home ground. Demon fans who don’t go to the snow in the middle of winter, come up to sunny Queensland. A win for the Dees!
  5. Any other news from training?
  6. There's a good write up on his performance for his school team in the Herald Sun online edition.

Thanks for posting this - yes. He's down on his elite standards which is where he was in the first half of 2023 when he was getting up to near 40 disposals per game. Those figures need to also be taken in conjunction with his time on ground which is one of the other factors that sees him down from elite to average or above average in a number of categories. I'm sure there will be a lot of time put into getting a full pre season into his body and legs so that he can get up to elite in every category and then watch out.
  8. I wonder if we're going to pull a surprise with a miraculous recovery from Max to take on their ruck might?
  9. He still might be worth a peep.
  10. The heart always says I want Collingwood to lose but what result is the best for Melbourne?

  12. Agreed. They turned the tables on us last year when we were red hot faourites. Let's return the favour and take that smug look off (censored)'s cheeks.
  13. He also didn't warrant being on the end of a couple of suspect poor umpiring decisions the following week.
  14. So no open training between now and team selection?
  15. I’m fascinated by the passing parade of people who come and go through the doors of football clubs. They make great storytelling.
  16. Don’t want to dig their grave but 18 clubs is enough for the foreseeable future. That said, I think the idea put forward that an existing AFL club be sacrificed is not going to work. There’s a lot of infrastructure invested at North Melbourne and the AFL continues to pump money into the club. To kill it off would be a tremendous waste of existing resources.
  17. I don't think we can underestimate the loss of Salem on top of Bowey and Brayshaw. Howes and McVee have been playing well this year but they we under siege and we really need some experience to quell the influence of McCluggage, Bailey and Cameron.
  18. Paris? Rome? 11:30am is a great time to follow a game of footy. Great preview!
  19. Final Score: SANFL 10.5.65 defeated VFL 7.9.51. Best player medals - Fos Williams Medal for SANFL best Jez McLennan & Frank Johnson Medal for VFL best Callum Brown
  20. So good to see Melbourne on top of the ladder even if it’s due to extra games played. On top of that Melbourne Storm are currently on top as well!
  21. Strange that players from Southport etc are in the Victorian Football League team.

As an alternative, wouldn’t it be better if we could identify and target an Adelaide player who might suit us in a trade?
  23. Not related to this particular game but Mykelti Lefau who played his second AFL game for Richmond today is still a Casey story. Lefau was a development player for Melbourne Storm before switching from NRL to play Australian rules football. He played for St Kilda City and famously kicked 25 goals in an under-19s match. He then moved to the Casey Demons where he showed some promise and played a few games in each of the 2017 and 2018 seasons but never progressed and moved on. He was quiet today but took his opportunities and kicked a couple of goals for Richmond. Great persistence from the 25 year old and a lesson for those who are quick to write off players too early.
  24. Really happy with the game so far. The young MFC Demons have all stepped up to the plate and have given the club an outstanding base for the future. Some of the new VFL affiliated players going well also - now we just have to improve our kicking at goals.
  25. According to Sportsbet, Brisbane are strongly favoured to win at home against the Magpies. Rain is stopping and fine weather is predicted.
