Good luck to the kid today. It would be a nice touch if they gave him the number 48 to wear.

JJ always plays a steady game. He’s quite and unassuming but does his job for the team.

Dees Potential Draft Play to Secure Pick #1
Freddy Fuschia replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
At the same age and playing against Geelong for the Australian Academy two years ago, Nick Daicos collected a team-high 26 touches as well as laying four tackles. That’s more than creditable. -
Swans in front. Won’t lose it from here.

Dees Potential Draft Play to Secure Pick #1
Freddy Fuschia replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Harley Reid finished with a creditable 13 possessions (10k, 3h) but not as much as expected from someone with his reputation from the Under 18s. -
6. Oliver 5. Viney 4. Petracca 3. Grundy 2. Langdon 1. McVee

Death Riding Fremantle 2023 - Feathered Cap Edition

The Suns are at their best on their own home turf and are pathetic when the opponent has home ground advantage. Neither applies next week when they play the Dockers at Norwood Oval where hopefully the red and blue army will be out in force supporting them and adding some more nails to the Freo coffin. -
Collingwood have sent out their sparky in search of the Gabba’s fuse box.

The actual development of the racecourse has not, to my knowledge, started or received final approval from the authorities. There has been development of the area that was once open space and car parking between the racecourse and the railway line where some ugly high rise units have emerged out of the ground along with a shopping precinct based around a large Coles Supermarket. The development is still a watch this space for the future.

THE LAST TIME THEY MET: Rd 03 vs Sydney
Freddy Fuschia replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes, it was a strong team if everyone was fully healthy but a few of them weren’t and others got banged up during the game while others were not at their optimum fitness. If the selectors pick the right side, we can win this one. -
TRAINING: Wednesday 25th January 2023
Freddy Fuschia replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Strange because his disposal at Casey was usually pretty solid. -
“Max was closely monitored over the weekend, and we were really pleased with how his hamstring settled.” — Melbourne head of medical Dr Laura Lallenec.

The simple answer to your question about players from the Gippy Power is that their best players were either drafted, are too young or simply not good enough. Jonti Shuback is possibly the exception to that rule.

Wow. That report from Zero Hangar about TMac not being far away from a start to training was spot on. -

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
Freddy Fuschia replied to Supreme_Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
Jefferson is slightly taller and, at 18 years old, still has the capacity to grow a few centimetres. -
Welcome to Demonland Oliver Sestan

Since he got the gig at ESPN, this bloke really has lost the plot, particularly when it comes to Melbourne. He did get potted by Demon fans (and others) on a couple of occasions on bigfooty last year over some of his views. He’s entitled to his opinion so we’ll cop his E classification which ignores the fact that we retained two F1s & F2s but I’m not sure about the view that Jefferson has to find the football more often to become a consistent key forward. He was one of the top goalkickers overall and he showed on the biggest stage at the National Championships that he can find the ball and kick goals. His assessment doesn’t appear to cover the rookie draft anyway. -
Wonder which of the pundits came closest to the pin.

A lot more will be known when Cal Twomey drops his phantom draft which has been promised for this evening. I don’t know what I’ll be doing first - catch up with the state elections, watch Australia v Tunisia or watch for the Cal Twomey Phantom Draft.

Interesting that some posters are making jokes about his name but this bloke is a seriously good footballer.

2022 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Freddy Fuschia replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
A point of difference - no Jefferson at 13 and Foster at 37 -
I was at Princes Park when WA played Vic Metro and Elijah Hewett looked a ready made AFL player to me - far more than any other player on the ground that day with the exception of Will Ashcroft. I’d like to know what he’s done wrong since that game that caused him to slide to a projected top 20 pick.
