2022 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Actually, Jackās comments are accurate. Andrew did very little for the first three quarters and only played well in the final quarter when the heat had gone out of the game and the Cats were 100 points in front. This is a report from after the game. It certainly doesnāt look like he dominated the game, does it? https://central.rookieme.com/afl/2021/04/24/cats-too-strong-and-structured-for-afl-academy-as-daicos-furthers-his-case-for-top-selection/

AFL Mid-Season Draft 2022
Thereās a young ruckman developing under our noses in Jake Bell at Casey. Heās probably not quite ready even for the mid-season draft next month but has been coming along nicely in the VFL. Worth keeping an eye on over the next 12 months.

Welcome to Demonland: Jacob Van Rooyen
Anything wrong with Aaron Naughton as a key forward at 195cm? Towering forward ready to show his wares in Academy hitout āIN A DRAFT pool that is dominated by midfielders, Jacob van Rooyen stands out. Then you throw in his 195cm frame, the strong marking, hard running and batch of blond hair and it is easy to see why the West Australian has caught the eye of scouts.ā

2022 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Is there any value in posting the names of players in NGAās these days? If theyāre any good theyāre out of your clubās reach anyway.

2022 Injury List
I wonder if the injury to Howes is enough for him to be put him on the long term injury list? Thereās talk of a few young talented players emerging in the ranks who could be worth looking at in the mid season draft. We would probably have the last pick but it might be worthwhile exploring whether thereās a player out there to fit our needs eg. a genuine young ruck prospect to nurture for the day when Max retires or if Luke Jackson gets homesick.

NON-MFC: Round 5, 2022
Do you think thatās going to work against us this year?

The very, very contentious 50 for Dissent Rule
But youāve missed my point completely. I said that waving hands in exasperation could be something other than dissent which means that players would be penalized for expressing disappointment in themselves - not for umpire abuse or dissent.

The very, very contentious 50 for Dissent Rule
I get what youāre saying but we all know what abuse is because it can be clearly defined. Dissent is a different kettle of fish, especially if putting out your arms is automatically an expression of abuse when the same action could easily be interpreted as an expression of disappointment or frustration at the playerās actions rather than umpire abuse. By penalizing emotion and passion the AFL is emasculating the game.

2022 Injury List
The Melbourne website has an article here which states - āMajak Daw looked to be continuing his form following a best on ground display last week, kicking two first quarter goals, both from free kicks. āBut his day was cut short after quarter time, meaning the Demons had to adapt to overcome the spirited Lionsā. No explanation as to why his day was ācut shortā.

2022 Injury List
Jake Lever reporting that heās okay after rolling his ankle (twice) on Saturday night. As long as he looks after it, he should be right to go next week with the 8 day break. Some concerns however, at Casey level. Blake Howes not selected and the rumour is Blake Howes (āstress fractureā?). Majak Daw kicked 2 goals before coming off the ground and failing to re-appear. This is a concern because heās really our only proper back up ruckman in the event of injury to our two ruck talls in the ones. Commentator on the afl site also mentioned that Dunstan was off getting his leg iced late in the game. Losing Daw early just two weeks after Mitch Brown was felled behind play is a concern, especially after the manhandling of Ben Brown last week.

2022 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
One reason why thereās less discussion is that I believe Knightmare is no longer on ESPNās books and is keeping a low profile this year.

Mac Andrew
How much would you pay for an untried player like Mac Andrew who is presumably not going to play this year (and possibly next year)? Whatās he worth?

Mac Andrew
Doubt whether this is the Sunsā expectation. Itās just one pundit giving an opinion based on nothing other than that he was selected at 5 in the national draft. Like many others, itās doubtful whether heās ever seen him play.
