  3. As often happens when a new coach takes over a dispirited team in mid-season, Teague had a good start to his career. He gave them freedom, their confidence lifted and after a win at home against an over-confident and cocky Brisbane, they had a run of games against other teams in the lower region of the ladder. They won a few games and Teague was appointed permanent coach. He’s going to have a tougher job now with the clubs having more time to scrutinise the players and the game plan.
  4. They are mostly Casey players with a sprinking of Demons - mainly younger brigade like Rivers, Bradtke, Jordon, Bedford, Hore, Baker plus Jayden Hunt and Josh Wagner.
  5. Just wondering whether with these injuries (including Nietschke's season ending acl) it might make it more likely that a Pre-season Supplemental Selection would be utilised?
  6. Would we take both Jackson and Kemp - two players who will take a few years to develop?
  7. The plot thickens. The Suns get to pick a player from Darwin and the Dees get peanut shells. Suns' likely Darwin pick set to bring pace, pressure and tricks
  8. Freddie Clutterbuck for one season only.
  9. No biggie about APS beating AGSV. It happens every year. The APS have won the last nine of these games in a row.
  10. I think they said on the Fox programme that Hogan is earning that much next year. That makes an 8x8 offer unacceptable.
  11. I won’t be happy unless we can double up on our current total of 3 by sesson’s End.
  12. The recent test series in SA v India was highlighted by low scoring innings. Our lead should be enough.
  13. We have a CHF. His name is Jesse Hogan.
  14. Curnow is not a midfielder now and would need a lot of work and maintenance put into him before he could ever be a regular in the midfield. If you think we can pick him up and make him a midfielder, you're kidding yourself. It might happen but the percentage chance is low. He's more of a third forward now and might never be more than that.
  15. The sequel is a poem from BBO with a line that rhymes with "Sandra Sully".
  16. This kid has come from the clouds in the second half of the season. Won the Morrish Medal, starred late in the season including finals and now tipped as a first rounder. Oliver keen for more after Morrish Medal success
  17. The Age still in existence is it? Last time I saw one was in a cafe and it looked like a very shriveled up ghost of the once mighty broadsheet it was in the day when newspapers published news and not propaganda based on the editor's political viewpoint.
  18. Agree. Both look very composed and show great maturity. The fact that Roos is the coach makes it more likely that they will succeed rather than fail as our recent early picks have done but the coach might still have other ideas. If we can do another Tyson trade, I would be happy .
  19. None of us are privy to what goes on in the minds of the selectors so we usually look at players from what we've observed about them in the past or on the basis of what we hear and read about them in the media or from their statistics. OK, so the selectors appear to have got it right about Hilfenhaus this time but they've also been wrong with other selections. Unless you're perfect yourself that's no reason to mock other posters.
  20. GWS feels that it needs show biz hype and pizzazz to entertain and bring in the Sydney theatregoers but they've got it all wrong. The western suburbs are very different to the caffe latte set that inhabit the so called "better parts" of town.
  21. Sadly, Norm Smith decided that Mr. Bunt didn't have the necessary attributes to make it onto our list and sent him back home after just three training sessions.
  22. Lance also played for Richmond. Brendan's potential was highly touted when he first came to Melbourne but he struggled to get a senior game. He became a star player with Port Melbourne in the mid 70s. Off the field, he formed a partnership with Malcolm Speed in a legal practice. Speed was involved in basketball and later became famous in cricket administration.
