Memo to all Melbourne players, if you whack someone in the stomach you get off but stay away from the head no matter how hard you hit them head will get you weeks a stomach punch a fine at tops
-
I really think he carried a thumb injury into the game, I watch him warm up only took chest marks, all the marks he dropped were chest marks waiting for the ball. I can't recall him taking any marks above his head or out in front.
-
If they suffocated us you can cop that, we controlled the footy should have been up by 10 goals at half time, we continued to pick wrong option or bombed it to 3 Carlton players inside our forward 50m arc.
-
We got the end result but boy has it bad. Lucky Carlton stink because we play like that against most sides we lose by 10 goals. I think Marchbank from Carlton just stood 25m out from our goal and for 3 qtrs. we just kept kicking it to him. Jack Watts, I noticed at the start of the match in warm up he seemed to be protecting I think his left hand thumb, not sure if he carried something into the match but is was frustrating to watch him try to mark everything on this chest. Other parts of his game was good but his marking yesterday was extremely poor. Take the win as frustrating as it was

Looks to me we have gone with skill and speed, happy with the team. Interested to see how the forward 6 go together Petracca, Watts, Hogan, Weiderman, Garlett and the floating mid through there

North have just done a heap of school visits. North have a program that all Preps receive a free family home game membership, so every one that signs up for this that's 4 members. The Bulldogs have a similar deal. These numbers are so manipulated these days they don't reflect the true membership base. I will bet the West Coast Eagles and Adelaide generate more revenue from their members that Collingwood and Hawthorn. Essentially that is what counts, how much revenue does each club generate and match day attendances(hard to compare club v club due to a bias fixture)
-
Looking at the trends, look like approx. 2500 sign up either at the first game or the week leading into the first game, so by end March we should be pushing 38K. Hopefully by Anzac Eve game V Richmond we hit the 40K mark

Demons to play 'Fearless Football': Goodwin
drdrake replied to Lucifers Hero's topic in Melbourne Demons
Unfortunately for Neeld, Dean Bailey and Danners drafted players for the run and stun game win by out scoring attacking football, Neeld came in from a defensive Collingwood win games by restricting scores and we just didn't have the players on our list capable of playing that game. I think we are seeing the start of a period like we saw from 98-2006, hoping we don't have the even year blues -
We have the grunt, this guy is our class through the middle just has so much time when he gets the Football.
-
I think the problem with Jack, he and the club give the media reason to heap crap on him. Funny to read through some posts, so just flick this off as a nothing story others like me are bitterly disappointed that a player from our club needs this course of action and the club felt the need to let it out to the media
-
Far from professional, might be driving training standards but to have this play out in the media over the last 3 days shows how far from being away we are.
-
This is a joke, firstly a player of Jack's experience not doing what is required and secondly the club on the way we have played this out through the media. Had hopes for the season but the last 3 days has shown we are still that unprofessional club that we have been for the last 10 years. We will finish bottom 6 in 2017, jack Watts will be traded at years end with Jesse Hogan gone end of 2018 season. Over it, don't really care Jack isn't playing, the fact it has got to this is an absolute let down.
-
Agree, first rule don't throw your team mate under a bus. Keep this in house, both guys should of said coaches wanted to expose other guys to match time, Jack will get the game time to ensure he is cherry ripe for round one. It's done the media moves onto the next topic, you throw out open responses the pit bull Journos will continue to probe until they get something they can use.
-
We need to teach young players how to play a straight bat to the media. If there is issues with Jack Watts or any other player this should be dealt with and kept behind closed doors. How stupid are Gawn and McDonald to give the media a story, both of them should be dropped this week to punish them for not keeping this in house and once again the Melbourne FC makes Jack Watts a media target. He will be the first player to sue a club for the post traumatic Stress caused by playing for the club that keeps hanging him out there. Simple answer Jack missed should be right this week, that is all that needed to be said.
-
Imagine the media melt down when Jesse Hogan is rested this week. Players are managed to the minute these days, I'm sure Jack will get his minutes over the next 2 weeks to be cherry ripe for round 1
-
Where is Craig Cameron these days, his drafting record would be one of the worse in the AFL
-
JLT insure a number of suburban leagues. Really have no chance to watch this live on Saturday, you will need to get to the Kennel by 12pm to get in. All the feral Bulldogs supporters on a massive high will be out in force.
-
Hope they offer the discount to members that they did last year. It was an amazing offer.
-
I think you find your first point is right, the club is or was closed from around the 20/12 and either returned yesterday or next Monday. Each year the office closes for 3 weeks over Christmas
-
Our forward group, Hogan, Watts, Petracca, Kent, Garlett, Weiderman and Co, I think as a group they are ready to become a seriously dangerous unstoppable forward line
-
You win some and loss some, we lost out on this trade, but saying that he cost us Mitch Clark so really Geelong lost out on this trade losing Varcoe
-
Not sure when our club office shuts, I'm assuming tomorrow or Wednesday. Looks like we will be around 29K prior to Christmas, would have been nice to tick over 30K. I reckon we will finish in 2017 around 42,433 members
-
If you look at the historical data we get around 12,000 people join from Jan-June. Hitting 27297 by end Nov is great, we should push above 30,000 prior to Christmas which really sets the club up to hit 40-45,000 for the year. Lets say 42,500 an extra 3300 members or in revenue terms about 600K
-
Are there any rules regarding the promotion of Cat B rookies to the main list and adding someone to long term injury list? Maybe that is the reason why we will only take 2, we might be looking at removing Harry O from our primary list and if Smith continues his rate of improvement from last year he will be banging on the door for a senior game early in 2017.
-
So about 8.30pm we tune in to hear that we are very happy that Player a and B slipped through to our picks we rated so to get them is a fantastic result for the club. We really wanted to boost our Ruck stocks which to get player A we see him filling that ruck forward role and to get someone with pure leg speed that plays as a small forward but we think can add to our midfield as well.
