  1. It was interesting listening to Viney on the Footy Show yesterday. The question was what changed at half time, his answer was we were to along the lines of we were to predictable with our taps and clearance set up, Geelong was just picking us off. They changed this at half time to be more aggressive with the tap and clearance, hitting the ball forward and Max grabbing a few out of the ruck. Geelong was just picking Max off in the second qtr, I hate the hit that just drops the ball at the back of the centre circle, every time a team gets dominance in the centre they pick this tap off, when we get aggressive with our tap work it is less predictable. Tmac is a worry, if he can't run around he struggles, that is his strength, he looked like a block that couldn't accelerate. Hoping the run helped, you would almost add Melksham to tag Rich.
  2. Sums up our issue, Oliver inside 50m to Geelong, Petracca no pressure kicks to Geelong viney no pressure kicks to Geelong, we can't kick
  3. Will we get fined for tanking, we rather play port than bne, get the cross over and meet Geelong in the gf
  4. Brayshaw, harmes just need to be replaced in this side
  5. Stop that negative tap in the middle, hit it forward
  6. I think both 1 v 4 and 2 v 3 will be played in Adelaide next week and maybe even a 3rd game. If Melbourne and Geelong win next week I reckon both will go straight to WA to quarantine for prelims. The other teams will either stay in Adelaide or head to Brisbane and quarantine for the semi finals and prelims If they win.
  7. I think Jones in Break Glass in case of emergency and that emergency would be injuries. I think if you narrow your Finals squad you have the 22 from this week, the 3 that missed out plus AVB, Hunt and Weidermen.
  8. I think this forum shows why Smith was picked, he has the ability to play on small/mid size forwards as well as big forwards. I think he will start on Cameron. We don't really get much stronger than this side.
  9. This isn't a new role for him, he has been on a wing for the past couple of seasons. He needs to find the balance like Langdon has defensive running V attacking, seems to me he struggles to do both whether he doesn't have the tank to run both ways is the question. He was pushed out if the centre square group due to lack of defensive running, seems now he runs defensively but has little impact on the attack.
  10. How can Williamstown compete in the finals, they won't be able to train until after the 4th Sept.
  11. I agree with you on Cerra, have watched him a bit this year. If he is leaving Freo, why wouldn't we see if we can add Gus and some picks to get him. You have Cerra on the wing and it really completes our Midfield. The Dockers have some really good young players on their list getting a player like Brayshaw and a pick will add more than Carlton's first round pick. As a player who wouldn't entertain an offer from a team that is sitting on top of the ladder.
  12. Yep, throw a pick in
  13. I'm still on the offer up Brayshaw for Cerra. The wage wouldn't be to much different. I just see Brayshaw as a player that has some value that we can cover with others on the list. He would slot into the centre square next to his brother and Serong at Fremantle and Cerra would slot nicely onto a wing for us.
  14. Strict guidelines will be, we want the finals from 2nd week. I reckon the AFL will have the week off after first week of the finals to allow all the 6 clubs left to get into WA to quarantine. They will be resigned to the fact that there will be games next week with no crowds, expect Essendon and GWS to head into Brisbane and AFL will be hoping Port and Geelong finish top 2.
  15. With no WA sides in finals this is will be a neutral venue. The big concern for clubs will be if you are allowed crowds in Geelong/Adelaide will they get finals in the first week regardless of ladder position
  16. The game felt like we got a lead took the foot off the throttle, they came back we increased our effort until we broke them in the last qtr. How good is it having Bowey and Salem playing off Half Back, they seem to wax a bit, Bowey just looks to have a lot of time and makes really good decisions, not a bad time to break in the team and play well. I reckon the big correction in the last half was our players stopped kicking the ball to Brown and I think Brown lead to pockets drawing out 1-2 players opening up space for Fritsch. To me Fritsch has struggled a bit with Brown in the side, they seem to lead to the same spots, the last half though it clicked. Helps when you have mids hitting you lace out.
  17. I thought he was our best defender in the first half. Got the hibberd hit and went missing after that but showed enough
  18. Really hard to vote First half you have Smith, Brown, Salem, Bowey and Langdon Second half you have Fritsch, Petracca, Jackson, Spargo and Gawn
  19. Unless you are an WA member.
  20. And Harmes, needs a job if he doesn't have one is lost. I thought Sparrow was ok, gets his hands on it.
  21. I can't remember a time when this guy was able to get a real go injury free run. He is a bloke that can play mid size or tall forward or back. Just hope he can get 18months injury free to show us if he can play.
  22. Do we know if AFL clubs are running matches like they did last year in QLD. Big advantage for Port and WCE come finals with most of the final 8 sides not getting any game time into fringe and players returning from injury.
  23. The AFL doesn't have an endless pit of Money. GWS and GC costs a bomb, AFLW will be costing a bomb and now with the expansion this is going to cost the AFL a lot of coin. Wait a couple of seasons when the AFLW players push for pro-rata the same amount of money as the men, lets say the AFLW season is 50% length and time as AFL men, that will mean about 5mil per side salary cap. Expansion isn't always in the best financial interest of the competition.
  24. I can see North playing 6-8 home games in Tassie, with the same amount of away games guarantee for Melbourne. Lets say 8 games in Tassie, means 3 home games in Vic plus 8 away games total of 11 games in Vic. This is the type of incentive they will need to offer to get a team to initially play more games in Tassie. If you are North you would take this means your Vic members still get 11 games and Tassie gets 8 games a season.
  25. Hard to break into a side when you had been injured and no real games to play. He will be the hardest trainer out there each week because that is the bloke he is, emotion won't come into this. I can't see him breaking in, Viney is the next Mid that comes in and TMac comes in. Jones in a down the list a bit at the moment, going to need some amazing form or a lot of injuries for him to get a game.
