RDB is a great bloke-don't get me wrong, but he was the first to bring in these Dammed "5 year plans" & it didn't work sadly, don't Forget at Carlton & North he had ready made (just add water sides) so it is hard to know how good RDB is as a Grass Roots Coach. He had all the pieces of his chess board. At melbourne he didn't. I have had a few Beers with Barrass when he had that pub in Richmond-Told him i Hated those North Flags too. I Hope Barrass Presents the Cup to the next Melbourne Capt. like Bob Davis did too Geelong last year

Having Read "The Coach" many times I Respect RDB, sure although i hated those Flags he won for North in the '70's-They should have been ours. That said when Barrass came back in the '80s the place was in a mess, & i am sure he and slug did a lot of Hard work but we got No results on field with the seniors. So i give RDB some credit along with slug, But most i give to John Northey.

I think Sheeds needs to watch Cam Schwab's Whiteboard Wednesday presentations to learn the modern ways of a football club. I still cannot work out why he wrote that article-it makes no sense, unless he really does resent the MFC. I would have thought he would be encouraging to Bails as he is another of his past players. I love sheeds,but he lost a lot of my respect over this article. I hope it comes back to haunt him BIG TIME B)

Which Parts Have Merit? Going by that Model the MFC gets to play against Regional Australia...We Started the Competition FFS!!!

Very Harsh Call. He has Stiffened up that Defence a lot & Helped the side to win over the last 2 weeks It's players like Joel who are going to be the Teachers of this team in building the "culture" that we all want-it's a tough gig to be a defender in modern footy & so far Joel Mac has done a great job. Really looking forward to saturday nights game against the Bears-I hope he proves them wrong big time.

Please Do Not apply for Demetrio's job when he retires. Your idea Stinks-Pure and simple. I'm sure Melbourne v Ballarat would pull a Bumper Crowd at the MCG!! Next.... B)

Why the Hell would we want Laycock on our list. He is a dud from what i have seen. Chris Dawes i would consider though.

Isn't that always what happens with organizations-people take over from previous people. John Northey got us into 5 Final series running...count them. So give the man some credit even if you are still upset that it wasn't RDB.

The MCG is our home, we moved back in last year when the Realignment with the MCC was signed off by Jim & Schwaby. The other teams are renters.

What an amazingly sad way for the gunners to go down, but still a good season regardless of the next few weeks.

As long as he came back on our terms. Scott Thompson owes the demons a bit i reckon. Yes i reckon there is trouble at the mill over there Players are being over trained is my guess, they look knackered at round 4!!!

John did a fantastic job over 5 years after 23 years of nothing-Maybe its my age but Northey woke up the demon hopefully as Dean Bailey will do. No offence to Slug or RDB at all, But John Northey was a no name coach who got 110% out of the Demons during his time.

The Melbourne Football Club means something again. This is even Bigger than the great Northey years. This Club is going to be Loathed & envied again as it should. Thanks Jimma. I hope Ricky Petterd thinks long & Hard about his Future. I wouldn't want to shake Jim Stynes Hand & say goodbye-not even to go back to my Home state. B) Bring on Next Saturday Night...

Col could easily play further forward this week, as he is now not critical in the middle. Certainly gives the coach more options and strategy, which is a welcome change. Col was Fabulous yesterday-5 weeks ago his jaw was a packet of chips. Yesterday he was Fearless Welcome Back Colin.

Jonesy was Great Yesterday, If he and Beamer can Play that way next Saturday night all i can say is Go Demons.

I do not care if Jack Watts plays the entire year at Casey-as long as he is ready when we seriously need him. I have Faith in those at the Club. Jack is itching to play. Good, but make him earn it, so when he gets his chance he will make it stick. Please stop the comparisons with Nik Nat. That kid is 2+ years ahead of JW. I do look forward to seeing Daniel Rich up against our midfield next saturday though. Could be a beauty.

Rohan Bail can play no doubt-He has got it. I didn't realize he had lost his mum last year. My Sympathies. As a Football Club we must look after him and help him through all this. Maybe he is playing so well in honour of his mother. If so he is doing a mighty job so far.....RESPECT B)

Sweet we need Beamer Next Saturday night-I now give us a chance of winning. This Game will be won from the Midfield.

If our midfield can play with the same intensity and skill it has over the last 3 weeks-we are a chance to win, Let's Hope Beamer is allowed to play. To Gain Respect the Club must learn to win Big Games, so i am looking forward to this game very much. How Bails Coaches, whether our team is over awed etc etc. FWIW i would just worry about Melbourne if i was Bails, not so much about the Bears. If we have Possession of the Ball, they don't. Back Yourself Demons-Believe in yourselves and our President. Big Crowd will be there Saturday-Let's make those Bears feel very unwelcome... B)

Well said my Friend-Thanks to Jimmy we will all continue to watch this great club. The Crowds will come. Going through the pain of 2009 is now so worth it. How proud would Jimma have felt today-seeing those young kids start to impose themselves around the ground. From the MCC Reserve i could hear the cheers but had no idea that Jimmy was there till the end. Just Great.
