I looking forward to seeing Tappscott Debut most of all. I reckon Blease will be an Important player for us.

Davey held out for a 4 or 5 year deal with us a couple of years ago if my memory serves me correct and was signed. I recall there were all these rumors about him possibly joining his brother at the the bombers also at this time. So I don't reckon he is going anywhere it must be another big name player going to Essendon or it could be a load of porkys.

Deezman original post was about race if he had just said Davey was not a good leader then that would be different but he had to bring his race into the post which was just silly. Oh and it doesn't take balls to say what people are thinking it takes the ability to read peoples minds. It takes balls to stand up against injustice or to fight against adversity. Deezman's post doesnt really meet that standard. I am not racist and never will be and I proud to be so. On a side note - I crack up when I hear people say "I am not racist I just hate everyone" I laugh because what they really are saying is that they are just aggressive, try hards who have no friends. (It's actually quite sad also). Well done Deezman now go away and have good long hard look at yourself. lol

Your Dreamin, he will stay with the Lions.

Great talent, only consistency shown is to have a slow learner moment every second game. Pass **Also to Expensive
-
Mundy would be good but expensive, I say have a crack but the price still has to be reasonable.
-
Jack Anthony should remain a forgotten man. Pass

Not a fan Pass!

Can all those who have coached at the AFL level please put your hand up. I've said it before and I will say it again "I don't think anyone knows what Bailey gameday tactics are, apart from him and his coaching team. I am not going to second guess him or try to attempt to analyse it as I am in no way qualified to do so and I am guessing that there are quite a few people on these boards who are also in the same boat. Fact is it's the first game of the year, Bailey has his extension and people should get behind the team and stop whining." This thread is opinion based yes, but it seems also to be based on a low pressure system inside a porcelain drinking container. First Round of 2010 after coming in last for 2008 & 2009 and we lose to the 2008 Premiers. My question is: Are our expectations too high?

I just can't believe people can latch on to a comment made by a former HAWKS champion and make a big song and dance about it like its the worthy of attention as Brereton maybe a great tactician but he is also not an entirely objective commentator is he. I don't think anyone knows what Bailey gameday tactics are, apart from him and his coaching team. I am not going to second guess him or try to attempt to analyse it as I am in no way qualified to do so and I am guessing that there are quite a few people on these boards who are also in the same boat. Fact is it's the first game of the year, Bailey has his extension and people should get behind the team and stop whining.

Yes that is a great article I love the ending best of all where Martin Flanagan writes "In a couple of years, Melbourne could have an attack that includes Watts, Jurrah, Jamie Bennell, Neville Jetta, Austin Wonaeamirri, Aaron Davey and Grimes. I reckon that's as much as Rocket Eade, one of the most creative coaches of recent times, had when he took over the Dogs. If I were a Melbourne fan, I'd stick around. But, for the moment, the heat is on." Now that's exciting

The importance of Round 4 against the Tigers
felixdacat replied to P-man's topic in Melbourne Demons
You will just give yourself grey hairs trying to see the future, I prefer the old wait and see approach it much more healthier. -

On Friday night he seemed to have adjusted to the game and to the media okay. He is not a complete unknown anymore, he played football quite well on Friday night. Conjecture about him ditching a club seems to be grasping at straws a little I reckon. I reckon they both would have suited our needs at the time of their draft and there are never any safe bets on draft night its all a gamble. Which Nic were you watching on Friday Night? ..will an incredibly-gifted freak athlete (Yes I saw him on friday night) be able to cut it at AFL level given he is is a relatively poorly-skilled and has a relatively 'clueless' football brain. I'm not convinced he has proven anything yet, for starters he is rubbish as an actual ruckman and in contested maring situations Who are you talking about here if its Nic Nat then it's a bit harsh, I saw a 2nd year player who had 4 goals, 18 possessions, 21 hitouts and eight tackles, but most importantly he was a catalyst for his teams win. They were a little sluggish in the first quarter the eagles but he sparked them with some of his incredibly-gifted freakish talent. I am not going to get involved in the Watts V NicNat issue, it irks me though when we are blinded to the obvious talent of a player because he plays for another team especially to win an argument debate. I guess we will see what happens between 2012 -2017 I know one thing though it will be great football to watch Watts Vs NicNat.

Coincidence I think not, that is Gold And that's just plain scary Next thing we will be putting all the players into stables getting them to service prospective genetic partners. Old footballers could be put out to stud. lol.

So club training on the 22nd was productive and the players are coming along nicely for the season then. OK then If someone could let us know how the training goes this morning that would be great. P.s Pettard and Miller Rock lol

Dawes for Pick 18 and Simon Buckley on the move
felixdacat replied to demonglory's topic in Melbourne Demons
All I want to say is I hope we don't trade Buckley and I reckon we won't trade away pick 18. -
I honestly don't think the club was held to ransom over this either. IMO Aaron's Management were playing a little hard ball to get the best deal for their client. The MFC List Management team would be also ensuring that they protect the financial interests of the club. As supporters who have an emotional and passionate concern for our club we can lose sight of the fact that AFL is big business and the ppl at the club and the players managers are ruthless in ensuring that they get the best deal for their respective parties. Sure we may have had to compromise on the length of the contract but if you think that Aaron's management didn't have to compromise on something they wanted then you would be sadly mistaken.
-
So what did we pay for him? Does anyone know? All in all its good he has resigned but would be interested to know if anyone can confirm whether his resigning came at high cost as other have said. Have seen no indication of how much $. Although it would be highly unlikely that either MFC or Aaron's Management would disclose these details to General Public at this time.

He is not a Koorie and like Einstein I understand what Mono was intending to mean. Aaron Davey's mob are said to be the Kokatha in South Australia (it also said that he is of Torres Strait Islander Descent) so it's definitely not correct to say he is Koorie as that is a definitely a different mob. He was born in and raised in Darwin. I myself am a Murri man (Queensland) so if people said I was a Koorie man they would be incorrect and it's definetly not fine. Whether it is fine with Aaron I guess is up to him. The term Koorie is not wide spread its only used in Vic and NSW. I live in WA and over here the different mobs ie. Nyoongar, Wongi, Yamatji etc each have a very defined identity. I grew up in the NT and it was the same there. It would be like calling the Welsh and Irish - English. Give that a go in a pub in Wales or Ireland and see what the reaction would be. In regards to this rumour which started in the Brock Mclean thread, and now has made the Press (again mainly as rumour) , was not this same story around last trade season "Davey wants to play with his brother etc." I recall something along those lines. I hope its just part of the healthy negotiations taking place between MFC and Flashes "People" and it all settles down to the outcome of ink on a contract and Aaron staying put.

This has been covered HERE I think it was Number 12 or even Number 1.

Yeh but it was like that when we got here so we can't be blamed for it, can we.
