I agree the rumours regarding this seem strange if we have just secured a highly-credentialed "elite performance manager" Also why would Neeld want another ex-Senior coach looking over his shoulder so to speak. I think that the rumour started prior to the new coaches appointment and they may be rethinking this move because what we have heard of Neeld is that he has very strong views on how things will be run in regards to the Football Department. I also agree that its time for Chris Connolly to move on.

I agree 1 year contract should be an incentive to perform for further year contracts, In my opinion I think the club will offer him this. Whether he agree's to that is an entirely different matter.

Freo may look Bad or Good depends on whether you are of the opinion it was unproffesional or a means to ends person, but to me the person who has damaged their reputation the most would be Ross Lyon. Even his management sacked him as a client within the first few hours of this occuring. A statement to that affect was read on the Footy Show last night. For a man who was touted with being a man of Integrity he will have lost a lot of trust from the football community. If $7.5m is what it cost for his integrity then he may have come out ahead in the end anyway. I like alot of you hope that our Lyon is as ferocious and single minded about getting the right Coach for our team.

I just watched the video of all this HERE and I can't what all the fuss is about; Firstly we all knew he was going to Sydney on Sunday to tour the GWS facilities as that was reported days ago. Damien Barrett says "he believes" he has signed and GWS believes" he will sign up but this is not a definitive he has signed. Barrett also says also says MFC still believe they have a chance of retaining him. At no point does Barrett say Scully has signed with GWS. Hutchy interview tells us nothing other than that Tom has not made a decision. All the crap people will say about his body language and the shiftiness of his eyes etc. is subjective. Also why would TS tell Hutchy in the middle of an airport that he has signed if he hasn't told MFC. It is easy for Brereton to sit there as a 40something year old man to pontificate about the fact TS family is going along and he should man up and decide for himself. If TS goes by himself he is not signing with GWS (and he is a MAN) but as he is taking his parents that means he is signing with GWS as he wants to show them where he will be playing next year.
