  1. Indeed it is. The very same. He was on the Judd tribunal too.
  2. Who's Jesse Mallinder's dad? He's someone nasty, is he not?
  3. Moose Henwood for the defence. Where have I heard that before?
  4. 10.30 Monday - 10.00 Monday - 11.00 Monday - 10.30 Sunday... well, it is Channel 9. They would be breaking with decades of tradition if they failed to shunt their shows around the schedule.
  5. Schwab said Melbourne will make a profit from today because of fixture dealings.
  6. I love that Beamer is a hard core Demon at heart. Did anyone see him collecting autographs at the 150 year function in 2008? I would also love him to finish his career at Melbourne and spend the rest of his life fondly remembering the Dees and being remembered by the Dees and fans. It would be a pity to see him wind up doing a Bruce and leaving in a huff then tooling around in another team's rezzies, or following Junior (Demon royalty) to the newbies, and thus diluting his legacy. (I don't know what to make of his time at Geelong vis-a-vis his career.) The thing is, like several Demon players over recent years, he is a bit of a flat track bully. I cannot remember him playing a good game in a big game. What, precisely, is his value to Melbourne?
  7. Watts looked like he rolled his ankle last week.
  8. That is what "print screen" is for. Whenever anyone sees a blunder or spelling mistake, they should capture and save it for posterior.
  9. Dockers at Docklands - Dockbuster!!!
  10. Our midfield has been pox at inside footy since either Scott Thompson left, or Brett Ratten left, or both left, since Scotty & Ratts both left in 2004.
  11. I hope Cotchin does not forward sit Nicholson or rotate through Trengove or a combination of all five. His move forward earlier this year, dragging Jordie to the goal square, was crucial.
  12. The first question you must ask yourself he can't crack a game at Brisbane is "why?" (Injuries excepted.)
  13. Cockatoo. Collins. x 2
  14. Paterson's Curse. Did you hear about the star-struck WAFL umpire who has payed a shed-load more frees to West Coast players in the WAFL compared with WAFL players who don't play for the Toast? .
  15. The AFL is worried about poaching because they know established clubs will attempt to raid GWS and the Suns.
  16. Come on, Jack. There's poaching, and then there's legal poaching.
  17. No, Robert. Within 11 games I do not expect him to scythe the ball through a network of defenders primed to apprehend even the slightest off-target kick. But nor do I expect him to miss wide open targets on the wing so badly that the ball bobbles out of bounds. McDonald's ability to close down an attacking tall, his slick closing speed, his long reach, and his agility are a big plus, but his disposal has enormous room for improvement.
  18. Pity he butchers the footy. Will need to improve his disposal big time.
  19. Steve, one should not jump to confusions.
  20. Thompson did his foot in round 13, 2004 against Essendon and never played for the Dees again. After winning that game Melbourne was second on the ladder with 10 wins out of 13 matches. From the remaining 9 matches we won only 4, beating St Kilda who finished 3rd and the Bulldogs, Tigers and Hawks who finished 14th, 15th, 16th. Pissweak Port, who had then never beaten Melbourne in Melbourne, won the flag that year, beating the Lions who were butchered by injury in the GF. 2004 was definitely the year that got away. Had we held on to Thompson, who was precisely what we needed, an inside ball winner, (and also Farmer, who should never have gone back to WA) we were definitely a chance to pinch a flag in 2004 or 2005 and maybe even 2006.
  21. Cloke's a spud. I'll have Patton any day before Damir's boy Travis.
  22. Ashley McIntosh was pick 112. In the same draft WC snaffled Peter Mann, Ryan Turnbull, Peter Matera, Melbourne great Dean Irving, Tony Evans, Brett Heady, and my favourite West Coast player Dean Kemp.
  23. F**ked or fiction? Greg Denham: "Nikanui would be worth another 10,000 members to Melbourne."
  24. On reflection, Jay Clark is a Victorian, so it's probably in the Herald Sun, too.
  25. It's in the Courier Mail. Quince-landers will do anything they can to knock Walers.
