Slight correction: players who only got the job done when the opposition allowed them to get the job done.

Everyone here knows those names. 20 years later my brother was surfing in Qld when he saw one of those three names also surfing. The surfer in question did not appreciate being sledged by my brother in the Qld surf. He thought he'd escaped feral Melbourne supporters with long memories.

Obscure to some. When Sheedy was coach of Essendon he commented after the Melbourne Essendon final in 2004 that he was powerless to stop McDonald's clearance work. It is probably not a coincidence that the same Sheedy has now recruited McDonald to GWS. Sheedy was probably also relieved that McDonald missed the 2000 grand final.

Interesting to see what sort of compensation we would get for Jamar. Pros: All Australian 2010; suitor would need to pay big to shoe horn him out of Melbourne. Cons: past his best; doesn't take enough marks; dreadful kick for goal; not getting any better; not getting any younger, which at 30-odd is an issue. Not sure if, like $cully, his wage at a new club would be taken into account, but I reckon we may get a second-rounder. Can't see the AFL offering more. I reckon GWS would be mad to pay over the odds for Jamar, but I thought the same about $cully.

Dunno about "ultimate success" at GWS, but Sheeds, Choco and the Jaffas look a reasonable prospect for Jamar's last few years of superannuation.

I can only stand on my record. Was right about Meesen's injury. Was right about Scully. Was even right about Woewodin at least four months before there was even a hint he would leave. Will be right about Jamar. Disclaimer: I am nevertheless a fine looking rooster with egg on my face.

V12, lets do the Footy Maths, How many years do you reckon Melbourne would offer Jamar, who is 29 this year? Two years? How many years do you reckon GWS would offer Jamar? Two years + a tempter year to lure Jamar to Sydney = 3 years, at least. How much money do you thing Melbourne would offer Jamar? x How much money do you think GWS would offer Jamar? x + more. = Jamar leaving.

No.

Ha, ha. Ho, ho. Hee, hee. It is to laugh.

West Sydney.

Correct.

"If a contract were in front of him he'd sign" is the latest version of "I want to be a one club player" and both hold about as much water as "We back the coach 100%." You can only believe Jamar will stay when you know his signature is on a Melbourne contract.

You read it here first. Or, at least you did, until Demonland deleted it on May 3.

Megadisasters, too, with a follow-up (in 2000 years) on Time Team, which will no doubt still be running 24 hours a day on The Future Channel.

Well thought out. Some good ideas. Fairer. Makes sense. It ain't going to get up.

A lame article which reveals nothing new and barely gathers up the usual suspects. Denham is a try-hard controversialist. Strictly second tier.

Petterd suffers from being not great at any one aspect of the game. Big: no. Strong: no. Fast: no. Good hands: no. Good kick: no. Good decision maker: no. He's okay at lots of aspects and tries very hard - especially tackling and pressure - but he's not a great "footballer". Tradebait? We would be lucky to get a nibble.

Jurrah on Bartel. For the memories.

He is childishly theatrical.

Would you take the deal if Carlton offered Kreuzer for Jamar?

Someone up above nailed it. Ever since Bailey was sacked Walls has been brandishing our wins last year as evidence we were heading in the right direction. Either Walls is an imbecile with an utter ignorance of the relative merits of our wins and losses in 2011, or he is wilfilly misrepresenting those results in order to support his case that Melbourne should not have sacked Bailey. Probably a combination of both, but his comments make him look like an idiot or a shill.

For future reference it is vitally important to remember that Dermott Brereton will ALWAYS attempt - futilely - to use words which he does not know the meaning of.

For future reference it is vitally important to remember that Robert Walls will ALWAYS support a sacked coach.

"Jurnos" often become sub-editors, too.
