In the last 20 odd years we've had far too many seagulls, head duckers, footsteps hearers and scared players. No to Yarran.

Sloane for No.1?!? Sounds like Adelaide have caught a severe does of player overrating syndrome.

I'm pretty confident that every kid in the TAC Cup can kick and handball. Think of your own playing days in local footy when it was stunningly apparent a future VFL/AFL footballer played in your league; they were that much beter than the rest of the hacks. To play AFL you CAN play. And yet somehow when these future league footballers end up Melbourne they kick over teammates' heads or at the ground in front of them, and handball at teammates' feet. HOW?!?

A three goal loss to Sydney is okay. (NB: There are no points on my scoreboard.)

There were at least 10 games in the 90s which were worse and there was 21-1 against West Coast, but today pretty bad.

Well, that's confusing:

"Set to be offered another 2 years" is not will be offered another 2 years. The Brisbane heavies can hardly come out mid-season and say Voss is in the gun, and they would be stupid not to inquire about Roos' availability.

Personally, I am really warming to Neil Craig. His first address to the players contained a pressure relieving: "The only stat I care about is goals." I have reservations about the one-dimensional style of play he used at Adelaide, but he is an enthusiastic sponge of all things sport (including sports science, which may involve complications down the track), so there's a fair chance he would modify his Adelaide style.

Roos has been talking to Brisbane too. And given that the AFL is every bit as worried about the Lions as they are about the Dees, there is every chance Roos will head north to Brisbane (although West Coast presents a solid coaching environment). And, and since the AFL wants an experienced hand at Melbourne, Craig or Williams would be seen as good fits for the Dees.

Better still: Footy is lies.

Every time Gerard Healy opens up about Melbourne he calls into question the probity of Greg Healy. To whit: is Greg dishing to Gerard, either accidentally or on purpose.

Malthouse gifted Maxwell a sweeper role, the easiest job in footy. Garland is clearly better.

Garry Lyon had a huge bet on Terry Wallace.

Will he bring Ross Lyon? It was Lyon who was the brains behind the Swans' two grand finals in 2005 and 2006.

Errrr... what Steno wrote.

Russel Howcroft is a Ten Network executive. Since Ten has the Lions tour, it would have been a major surprise if he was not at the rugby.

Eade senior coach Craig player development!!
Tony Tea replied to Dee1987's topic in Melbourne Demons
Who did Eade coach to a flag? -
Last Friday night against Hawthorn Gibbs basically s!@t himself twice. Once with a Hawthorn player running towards him and Gibbs took a big sidestep to get out of the way and avoid the contact. And then again when the game was on the line in the last quarter and Gibbs felt the pressure and fumbled a soft one-hand pick up. Do you think we have heard about it? If it was Watts it would have been replayed all week on OTC, FC, FI and 360.

Geeshplanation time. "Malcheski did indeed step back across the line, so on balance I rate it a 50-50 call." We are unlikely to cop Findley next week, since we are playing Sydney.

The elephant in the room is the gorilla in the corner.

The question was similar to the one to Hewitt about Australian sport. Clearly intended to elicit a response which could be used in another article.

How is that even a story?

The Cats smashed us in the first final a few weeks later.

Dobber.
