  1. Unwatchable slop.
  2. I barrack for Norwood and Subiaco, so Demons flag is surely just around the corner.
  3. Neil Balme was coach of Norwood in 1984.
  4. We keep picking highly touted youngsters and turning them into duds. Sydney keep picking unassuming youngsters and turning them into guns. There must be something in the Sydney culture. (And something else in ours.)
  5. Had an email exchange with a WA mate and Freo supporter today who wrote - and I kid youse not - "I haven't written off Col yet, he will be fitter next year." I replied that I'd heard that a couple of times before.
  6. I hope Vossy stays in the media as I am starting to warm to his work on SEN and he starts to find his rhythm.
  7. Every time Wines touched the ball last night I jabbed myself in the leg with my fork. (Lucky I am only allowed plastic forks.)
  8. It was reported on SEN that Melbourne had made Dangerfield a "Godfather" offer: Pick 2 and two players. Adelaide knocked it back, which self-evidently means the offer cannot be termed "Godfather" since it was an offer that Adelaide COULD refuse.
  9. Just pointing out that Gwilt is not gilt.
  10. Is this the same James Gwilt who several media pundits have described as "the game has passed him by"?
  11. Clark playing for another Melbourne club does not pass the smell test, so now that it's out the manager has shifted to damage control. Can he get the optics right? Only if he can hit the right notes. He needs to sell a touchy feely message which may fall on deaf ears if he can't salvage Clark's brand.
  12. Earnest Morality?
  13. Desolation Boulevard is a Sweet album.
  14. Footy is lies.
  15. Probably means Hughes had dinner with Harry Potter.
  16. How good is Herry, really? All Australian in Collingwood's premiership year when the Pies' superflood caught everyone by surprise and Mick have Herry a licence to run off half back with pretty much no opposition in the vicinity. Once he got it he banged it long into the Collingwood forward line and waited back for the ball to be roosted out to either himself of Maxwell. Those sorts of easy kicks are a footballer's dream. Roos would have a different idea of how he wants to Herry to play, but I doubt Herry would be up to the change. Good kick when roosting it long. Quick when given a chance to wind up. He's not really what we want, and certainly not at the price he would ask.
  17. I can just see Lamumba walking down Bourke Street yelling "I WANT TO BE ALONE!!!!" into a megaphone.
  18. Correction, Biff. Goodwin's Law: if an online discussion goes on long enough, sooner or later someone will compare something to Andy Goodwin.
  19. Soft and Stupid. No and no.
  20. I'm still upset over Robbo not getting selected in 2005.
  21. I know he's not the most popular player for opposition fans, but Brent Harvey in the AA-40 at age 36 is pretty good going.
  22. I still don't understand the AFL's eagerness to introduce GWS and GC. Benefit of the doubt me thinks it will pay off in the long run. Cynical me (my dominant side) thinks it was a vanity play by Demetriou to spike North after the Roos knocked back Queensland.
  23. Towering Inferno released in Australia March 27, 1975 and I saw it almost straight away. Earthquake released in Australia December 1974, but I was in the Pilbara until February 1975 and did not see it until a couple months later. I remember the Mad Magazine take on TI. OJ Simpson playing a fireman chucked a cat out of a window on the 100th floor to see if it would land on its feet.
  24. Poseidon Adventure - Bourke Street cinemas, early 1973. Towering Inferno - Russell Street cinemas, around Easter 1975. (Earthquake - Bourke Steet cinemas, 1975 - IN SENSURROUND!!)
  25. Jetta's been fantastic. Now needs to build on 2014 so that AFL Summer School does not pick him apart for 2015. Pederson started well, but tailed off badly.
