  1. It's D-day. Fingers crossed the councillors have done their homework this time.

I'm torn. This is the difference between a massive day for me & my family on Monday, including a great spread for lunch, beverages, footy, out for dinner. Huge spending spree. And Jack Watts v Collingwood. Or, A day at the footy with a mate and a luke warm meat pie....without Jack. It's over to the selectors to determine my fate for Monday......please let it be the former alternative.....Because that way I'm not driving! :D
  3. Rogue. It's not a play on meaning of words at all. ie. 'never' / 'probably'. There's a difference. Let's not divert. The point/issue is using the term "dud(s)" in reference to Mfc/AFL players. In this case Brad Miller and Michael Newton. I asked if there were any chance at all, he could refrain from calling them "dud(s)", even suggesting 'NQR' as an alternative. To me "duds" is derogatory (intentionally offensive), and out of line. Brockstars5 could of simply replied "No" for all I care. Going on about starring at lower levels and not at AFL level is irrelevant IMO. That's pathetic reasoning to be able to use the term "duds". Obviously it sits well with Brockstars in referring to our players in that way. It doesn't sit well with me fwiw. But I guess that's just me and some others. I'd be quite interested to know Mod's stance, and if "the point" still stands. IMO it comes under 'Indecent.'
  4. Good post Jaded. Good summary of players who are finding it hard to adapt. Agree on PJ.
  5. Nothing like taking things slightly out of context. I said, "who probably haven't even played football, let alone AFL". Get it right.

I think I laughed more at that, than the clip. That was 'Gold'

Stand by the 'G'. Perhaps this would be an excellent time for negotiating with a better stadium deal with the 'G'! :D ........if proven correct.

Well, I hope you are right. Because your head is on the chopping block otherwise!
  11. Any chance you can refrain from calling Melbourne players "dud(s)"? FCS they play AFL. One has played 120 games, the other 18. To get to that level, you can't be a 'dud'. Suggest maybe 'NQR'.....which has been used before. Some of the language by posters who probably haven't even played football, let alone AFL.....is quite atrocious at times.

    Tennis Anyone?

Definitely a contender. I think Federer went out as well. Next Monday might provide another.
  13. Fitzpatrick is ok......not sure of the reports that you've heard....from what I hear Butcher is 'head & shoulders' above others.
  14. Wednesday July 1st. Looks like I might have to take the afternoon off.
  15. I think you've now 'missed the cut' on Nasher's Xmas card list...
  16. Playing him at half forward and on the wing at Casey, is part of his development. If anything it is geting him ready for a tilt at the seniors, so they can put him on at half forward. They've obviously mapped his progress out, and so far it's working fine as evidenced with his progress in the last two games at Casey. As Watts grows and develops in time the more he will be seen as a KPP. Fwiw, With regard to your midfield opinion. I tend to agree, it's going just 'ok' in parts. Nothing spectacular. A bit of pace is needed however along with much less turnovers.
  17. Fair enough cooko. No, it's not a big deal.
  18. And... 'Wallet' was trying to land the job at Sydney. It is believed that he and Sydney had a gentleman's agreement (perhaps with some $ involved - which Bulldog Smorgon believes), that he would be the next Sydney coach. It turned sour when Swans supporters/members led a protest to get Paul Roos as new coach instead. Wallace was out of a job, until the media came to his rescue. Smorgon, insisted at the time, if he ever found out the truth to this - whilst Wallace was still coach of the Bulldogs - he would threaten legal action. Calabreseboy is right in that he wanted to leave at the end of the season; and he was being dishonest with the Bulldogs; so they let him off the leash so to speak when it got ugly. Why ask then?
  19. He'd be hard pressed to find any evidence of that, apart from Rd 22, 2007. (dah...da..da...dada..) I hope he's been watching the Dees of late anyway.
  20. You're kidding aren't you?
  21. Well, if you have a look at a couple of my "INS", you might have a clue. We have Martin who can pinch hit in the ruck, to help Jamar. Which is what Melbourne have been doing with PJ, whilst Jamar has been out. Do you watch the footy?

"He's been consistent so it will depend what role Melbourne have for him", Scorpions coach Peter German said. TBH, I don't think the Casey coach thinks Watts isn't ready. German went on.... "But from a Casey point of view, he's been very consistent so I would say he would be starting to come under serious consideration. He was really impressive today. The last few weeks he has been very capable up the ground. He played across half forward. We played him in a variety of roles but his form over the last couple of weeks has been very consistent", he said. Sometimes posters make up their own minds.
