  1. Someone should tell Mike Sheahan to stop saying Scully is definitely going to GWS He went on and on about it today on 3AW, and the other commentators think he has inside info at Melb and therefore must be right He knows SFA and I don't know why he doesn't shut his big fat mouth being a Dees supporter
  2. THE BAD First two quarters I thought the first half was pretty scrappy and whilst we kept with them we were lucky to not be further behind at half time. I took notes on the first two quarters of what I didn't like Handball. Overdone (esp in the back half), too many risky, to flat-footed receivers, too short. Caused too many turnovers when press was on. Hard running with short passing was more effective to beat the press. Blocking/Shepherding. not nearly enough Kicking. poor Attack at ball. a few not getting body behind or head over ball in scrimmages Happy to say all these facets improved in second half, so whatever the players were told at half time it worked
  3. Yep. And doesn't he just look comfortable out there, like he's just at home. And just a 'natural' instinctive footballer
  4. or you could argue he is just picking the team on form and the best 22 to win ....but I agree, it's bold to stick with four newbies all at once
  5. Yes, I'm really looking forward to it Not often you see 208cm monsters debuting, and I've been waiting all season to see if Howe has the X factor.
  6. Pity the Ooze has retired otherwise we could've had Howe, Y and Watt
  7. just as well Tappy's not playing with all his many games!
  8. It seems however that you graduated cum laude from the Mark Latham School of shouting Caps, bolding and underling all at once - Puh-leeeze! A modicum of restraint if you please 36DD
  9. I like what you are saying HT Lets hope the improvement continues. God knows we need some classy kicking skills.
  10. always wondered what you did Snoopy, when you're not pumping tyres never knew it was writing satirical pieces B)
  11. Not necessarily. MM has a big out. His staying there is dependent on Collingwood finding him a "meaningful" job. MM has said this a number of times. If that is a clause for his contract extension I think it would be sufficiently broad to frustrate Collingwood lawyers. But what would I know about lawyers!
  12. or put it into a MM fund ?
  13. Obviously that wasn't referring to any potential salary outcome LOL.
  14. Approximately the same number of times as not changing the coach (give or take a little)
  15. Didn't make any comment on the rest of it billy, it wasn't too controversial. I've never been a supporter or opponent of Bailey for the first 3 years. I would say though that I personally couldn't see what a lot of his supporters were claiming about him, but as I didn't have any good inside or up-close info I just went with the flow but kept my doubts in the background. This year my doubts are more in the foreground. I'm not convinced Bailey is a "good teacher" nor a good game-day tactician nor a good motivator. I expect he will get till the end of the year to get some runs on the board but that he is on very thin ice. As it stands now I can't see him as a premiership coach. Might sound brutal, but winning premierships is a brutal business. So, if he goes I won't be surprised. As to who would replace him, that is obviously the $64K question, but just because one can't say, is no reason in itself to stick with the incumbent. Anyway they are just my thoughts...... P.S. I'm not impressed with what I hear/see of the assistant coaches either
  16. Well get used to another year of it. GWS have 2 years for their out-of-contract pillaging-in-secret.
  17. maybe we are tanking for some good draft picks? maybe deano is more cunning than we thought? maybe pigs really truly fly?
  18. I think you'll get a lot of agreement at least on that statement.
  19. They would be crazy to play Scully. He's not match fit and you wouldn't want to risk over-stressing him and aggravating his knee after spending so much time managing his recovery He'll play when ready, no matter how dedicated he may be
  20. I noticed against Carlton when Chip was kicking out after a point that he likes the little self kick then a 20 metre run with the long kick. There were melbourne players close to the square positioned to put in a shepherd when Chip decided to play-on. Every time I noticed when they tried to put in a block or shepherd it was the most [censored]-poor effort. It was like just going through the motions. Very poor effort. Then contrast this to the young Suns against Geelong. They were very conscious of putting in the shepherd or a the block all around the ground with genuine physicality. We just don't do the team things even when they are relatively easy skills like blocking or shepherding.
  21. And when you look up the Thesaurus there is a whole list of alternatives, like ............ but I won't go there because it might be emabarrassing how many there are B)
  22. absolutely. he should get a full game next week
  23. Get real, absolute chalk and cheese at any comparable time of development
  24. I'm not sure what your issue is. You seem to agree with me. Someone uses the apologist word and you talk of arrogance and dismissiveness spewing everywhere It just makes you seem a little precious, which I'm sure you're not really Anyway demonland is getting too repetitive so I'm going to bed (and Webber has dropped places in another bad start - 1st Q jitters?)
