The team is developing. We are out of childhood and into puberty. I remember puberty. They were turbulent times. I won't go into detail. The team's collective voice is breaking and it has acne. It can look and sound clumsy but it is getting bigger and stronger.

Judgment looms for Jack Trengove There is something seriously wrong with the system.

The problems are always multi faceted and need to be approached from several angles. I have no doubt that our system needs a lot of work. It would be much easier to coach physically and mentally match hardened footballers. It isn't an excuse it's a reality.

I think this is the key, fortunately it won't be like this forever. We have a bevy of young leaders on our list.

1. Never said we were. 2. No. Just stating the facts man, you can argue with them if you like.

Remember we finished bottom 2009, thus granting us picks 1 and 2, you know Scully and Trengove. You know when we engineered the result to our gain when Bailey was given a mandate to rebuild our list through the draft. Remember how Bailey took over the worst list in the comp and culled it back to it's bare bones. Remember how we turned over nearly 1/2 our list in two seasons.

Rewriting history there. 18 months ago we finished bottom of the ladder.

The rebuild has been done, we are just waiting for the concrete to harden.

He is the spitting image of my youngest son who also happens to be a bit of a gun junior footballer and dees fanatic. He is absolutely convinced he is going to become an AFL footballer. Showed my wife the footage of Nicho's interview prior to his debut, she was truly speechless. The mannerisms, smile etc are spookily similar. The wife half jokingly made plans to make some inquiries with Nicho's mother to find out if she "knew" me. We therefore shout out "go Digby" everytime he goes near it. We get very excited. Glad I got that off my chest.

My favourite player as a teenager. I had 27 on the back of my Melbourne jumper. I played amateur footy with the number 27 on my back as a young bloke. Thank you Sean Wight for the great memories. A courageous and inspiring footballer.

The point: We don't have any ruckmen that we can afford to "trade" An aging lazy on baller when we were on a downward plane looking to draft kids (JOHNSTONE) versus an up and coming and improving ruckman when we are on the rise (MARTIN). It is ridiculous entertaining the possibilty trade the young players we have worked so hard to build, and what would we trade him for? A draft pick that we couldn't use, another ruckman? We do not have a ruckman surplus, we cannot afford to "trade" any of those three. If it came to a point wher one of those wanted to go then of course we would need to secure the best possible outcome.

Jordie Mckenzie was reportedly offered a deal from Adelaide to nominate for the ND to get a spot on their senior list after his first year. He chose not to and remained a rookie on our list, to give the club an extra draft pick. Just another reason to love the kid. A rookie who is proven to be good enough to be a senior player can demand to be put on the senior list. If the club chooses not to that rookie could nominate for the ND or PSD to get picked up and put on a senior list. Dan Nicholson is showing signs that he belongs on a senior list, to remain a rookie the club needs his co-operation.
