  1. Was great. He isn't just a follower picking up cheapies either. He is winning contested possession on the ground and jumping fro his grabs. Last night he influenced the result. He hasbecome a weapon. There was a large gulf between our best and worst players. The standard of the game was horrible probably due to the conditions. Like so many games we have played this year I came away from it with no better gauge on where we stand in comparison to the other 16.
  2. Bruce's call during the Adelaide game Friday night suggesting that the reason Graham Johnsock was nicknamed "Stiffy" was due to his unusual running style. Made me giggle a little.
  3. Good call. Ignore his supecoach score, he was solid tonight and I believe is playing to instruction. I think he will be a player that takes time to really develop his game, but he has the physical attributes and skill to make it worthwhile.
  4. 6. Petterd 5. Martin 4. Sylvia 3. Moloney 2. Trengove 1. Frawley
  5. Personally I wouldn't be happy with people calling me a liar based on rumour and without evidence, but people are different I suppose. Hope the kid has a ripper game today. I reckon he will.
  6. You still haven't answered the question. You have used a number of tactics to avoid doing so on several occasions. Sylvia and Scully, name the differences and justify why you would treat the players differently.......
  7. On the right track I reckon. If said player enters into a third party contract with another employer conditional upon playing at said club that would be an issue, if not I see no issue.
  8. "The rules have been tightened up since then so any arrangement entered into with the purpose of keeping someone at a club or getting them to move a club would go into the salary cap"
  9. Clearly some untruths being spoken there by Blucher. Still in negotiations such as these only a few will be privy to the facts...and they are basically real estate agents for people.
  10. Him and that Sylvia fellow ought to be ashamed.
  11. I don't agree with that at all. Tapscott, Fitzy and Gawn got their jumpers on the same day. If Scully goes to GWS it will have no bearing on Trengove, who will stay at Melbourne.
  12. Why?
  13. Me too and I don't even have a radio.
  14. Sometimes I feel just like Luke when I wander in here.
  15. If anyone is into Twitter then the bi-play between Robbo and Ox is enthralling. Robbo suggesting that Ox was played by Gubby Allen. Robbo_heraldsun Mark Robinson @ @TheOx05 so he has signed already but they still make an offer. Just playing out the story? The hallmarks of the Truman show. All a stage? TheOx05 David Schwarz by Robbo_heraldsun@ @Robbo_heraldsun great movie perfectly scripted and Ed Harris is Gubby Allen.
  16. Excellent analogy
  17. How do you know what is going on with either of them? Neither have signed, we do know that.
  18. I believed that you were serious but I didn't take it seriously if that makes sense. You have been making the same noises for some time "making Scully sign" "ending the charade" etc. I took those posts as being serious also.
  19. Ah the future. Can you punch that rat bully Biff for me please.
  20. Depends on the level of success. If he stays at MFC, wins a brownlow and a couple of flags then his earning capacity goes through the roof. This type of success can affect earnings long after your football playing career finishes.
  21. And that is the only point of difference.
  22. Wouldn't surprise me either .
  23. The Tiges won't be the only ones who will have taken notice. Young ruckmen are a prized commodity. Quite a few in recent years have been pried from thier clubs with the lure of the first ruck spot at another club. Warnock, Mumford etc. Still I think both club and player are happy with what they have.
  24. I think his development has been slowed because Bailey has tried to make him accountable for an opponent thereby asking him to win contests. He struggles to win contests because: A He is not physically strong enough. B Because of A he doesn't have the confidence in his body. C He possesses a slow reaction time and struggles to take the correct option under pressure. I do agree that Morton's survival as an AFL footballer is dependent on him owning a role. I cannot see that role being as a midfielder and he will need to become physically MUCH stronger to play as a flanker at either end. Unfortunately not playing Morton as a midfielder neutralises to an extent his greatest asset which is his running ability. At the moment Morton is a weak bodied mid, with slow reflexes and average disposal, so he and the club need to look at what they can do with him whollistically and adopt a whole new training regime IMO. I have no doubt that the club knows all of this better than we do.
  25. Great post and sums up the Morton conundrum perfectly. I have always wondered what position he could make his own. I will add that it it quite feasible that if he was left alone to play unaccountable footy as he was on his first season that he would possibly pick up his thirty possies. You just cannot have an uncontested specialist in modern footy, particularly one that doesn't hurt you with his possessions. I don't see him as a midfielder in today's footy. Morton needs a re-inventing, what shape that re-invention will take I don't know.
