Their breakdowns are remotely controlled by photocopier technicians when their mortgage is due, they need holiday cash or they get a hankering for another Faberge Egg.
I am 98% sure anyways.
My son wants to play for the Dees. His greatest fear is not whether will ever be good enough to get drafted, but ending up at Collingwood.
He wants to know that if he is adopted by an eligible former Melbourne player can he drafted as a father - son.
Did you just quote HT's post ? I thought you frowned upon such underhanded methods of debate comrade.
On Morton I have my own personal opinion. Regardless of his intensity or waivering lack of it I just don't believe he has the tools to become the quality player that many had hoped.
I think you need to have a good look at our list, consider those who can be delisted, rookies who can be upgraded, Vets List, and the picks that we have to use.
You might conclude as others have that we won't be trading for many, if any clear picks.
AOB and others are right. If the player wants to go, and it remains to be seen if any of the names discussed do, then you may as well get something.
In our situation with spots at a premium upgraded picks may be the way to go rather than a speculative late pick that we probably can't use anyway.
I looked up his draft camp results from 2007, either he didn't participate or he didn't place in anything. The 20m sprint and 30m repeat sprints are the key ones for footy.
He doesn't appear to have the acceleration of the "quick" players. His deficiencies are such that he needs to be really exceptional in other areas.
He is small and not particularly quick. He was touted as an exceptional kick and goalsneak. Has not consistently kicked goals or displayed his elite kicking skills.
His work-rate for mine is the issue at AFL level and this bleeds into his lack of defensive pressure.
I don't agree. He needs to find a balance between defence and attack. Letting him play unaccountable football won't help him or us. I agree with what the coaches are trying to do with Cale. It should have been done much earlier. I expressed my ideas that Cale was getting a free ride back in 2009 and was howled down. It is impossible to gauge but I wonder if that has stifled his development.
Umpires boss Jeff Gieschen states that the umpire was right to award a free kick to the tackler, Adrian Anderson Football Operations Manager states the opposite and that the tackled bloke should have got the free. This illustrates the total confusion surrounding this issue.
There is obviously no consensus at the top, how the hell are the umpires and players supposed to figure it out let alone us lowly specators.
Most of those points require more affirmative action than just waiting.
I agree that waiting will solve nothing, I just can't agree that this is the consensus.
