  1. I understand the status quo. It seems that when you proven wrong you make ridiculous claims and accusations. You have done so in the past and you have done it again. old55 has given some logical responses and ideas, you have ridiculously responded by accusing him of trying to force you to belittle players. He has done nothing of the sort. Back on topic do you not concede that as is common practice at trade time, it is better to trade for an upgrade that it is to delist, particularly if the player is happy to go to destination X?
  2. Show me where old55 did that? Is he sending you PMs? Let's see if you answer with well considered response or will it be another tirade of unintelligible gibberish?
  3. You are not getting it. If you don't get the above concept then I can't help you. It is a simple concept for most.
  4. Option 1 Delist Billy Bloggs Option 2 Trade Billy Bloggs to Adelaide Swap your pick 35 with thier pick 29 It really is a no brainer
  5. Thanks for the insight
  6. Don't get this, why would you not consider getting a better draft pick, particularly in a weak draft.
  7. yeah it's one in the same.
  8. Actually he has been very consistent all season with a couple of his better games against the better opposition. http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/pp-melbourne-demons--colin-sylvia
  9. Actually that is a very solid weight for a kid of that age. Tapscott is 180cm and 87kg. Jones is 180 and 82.
  10. Getting?? this thread got into bizzare realms ages ago.
  11. Agree with that. The sheer number of contests and intensity of them is far greater than it was. I probably had a kamikaze approach to my own game which I had to temper as I aged. I have always tried to coach this kind of attitude into my kids. Articles like this force me to rethink my standards and consider coaching some strategies to avoid head contact. I will also add that the AFL has made a rod for it's own back regarding the current rules. Players are awake to the fact that all they need to do when attacking the ball is rush at a players legs using thier heads as a bettering ram to get a free. We see it every week from Sellwood and Co. I understand the setiment behind the rule but it is encouraging the very thing it is trying to prevent. Having said that I don't know what the alternative is.
  12. Have always loved the chunk, he just needed to make some mental adjustments and temper his attacking tendencies slightly. I have been writing this for a couple of years, occasionally I get something right. He benefits from not being the big banana and doesn't feel the need to win games single handedly. i reckon he will continue to improve and be more than the C grader that some touted was all he would ever be. If we win a flag with thid list he will be there.
  13. Moloney must start on the opposite side of the circle to Mitchell. The clamp needs to wear Mitchell. More vigour required from stop plays and kick ins. Tapscott and Strauss to continue to develop thier nerve and take the kicks deep in defence. Nice match-ups HT.
  14. I have no idea what you are talking about.. I suspect that i won't be the only one. Clearly we won't be recruiting Fevola for the many compelling reasons that have been offered.
  15. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/melbourne-coach-dean-bailey-not-excited-about-brendan-fevolas-11-goal-haul-with-casey/story-e6frf9jf-1226097106260
  16. Risks are OK we take them every time we draft anyone. You do your homework, you weigh up the pros and cons and make a decision. We need to get games into kids, Fevola's presence will stifle this. We won't be challenging for a flag next year or the year after. Fevola will more than likely not make it to our next flag tilt. Fevola has a history of stuffing up after being given repeated chances. Calculated risks are often worth taking, after calculating the above Fevola won't come to our club.
  17. MFC won't be recruiting Fevola in any circumstances, nor should they.
  18. Ray was a pick 4....he is ok which is why I had the bracketed bit after his name. Ray has been in the system since 2004. I reckon we would all hope for a greater output from Cale Morton in comparison.
  19. Far be it for me to draw a line through his name however I see similarities with Ray and Fiora. Fiora and Ray (to a lesser extent) are outside players who looked great at junior level but failed to make the step up to the speed and intensity of AFL football. It may be unpalatable but it is a real possibility that Morton goes the same way. I still struggle to see where Cale fits in given his deficiencies. I have tried using my imagination I really have. I need to see him play a role successfully other than as the now rightly defunct role as an outside midfielder.
  20. Brad Miller kicked 10 in the VFL last year we should chase him. Seriously I believe that we have other needs just as pressing ie skilled half backs who can break through a forward press and speedy small forwards.
  21. It will be a strange new feeling to actually be competitive let alone win against any of the better teams. Starts are crucial with our young team, our leaders need to lift consistently and we need to find a way to work throughthe press. A fit and in form Aaron Davey could be the key here. If blokes like Gysberts and Nicholson improve thier consistency with thier disposal efficiency this would help. If we do get that win it could lead to an epiphany of sorts and it wouldn't surprise me to see our talented team to get on a bit of a roll, but with young sides this can also work in reverse, Can it happen? probably not quickly or emphatically enough for us to play finals but it could.
  22. I would agree with all this and add that if a fit and firing Davey can make is way back into the side and break through some presses with his speed and skill then that would make a big difference.
