  1. It's been said before but it annoys me that not many people from other clubs would know this kid's name. He is a young player that has flown under the radar probably due to the spotlight being on our high draft picks. I'm sure he doesn't fly under the radar with his team-mates. His in close work is fantastic, he rarely makes a mistake and hasn't played a howler. He wins the hard footy makes great decisions and is a tackling fiend (12 today). What more could you want from a 19 year old inside mid. God bless you Jordie, one of my faves. I hope he gets a nomination soon.
  2. I liked it before, even more now.
  3. Jamie Bennell to be BOG in a breakout game. Mark Jamar to accidentally swallow Ben McGlynn whole in a pack
  4. It is a good first post and I understand the sentiment but I disagree. Growing this kid's confidence is the key to opening this kid's tool chest. Playing him at the most difficult position on the ground against big strong centre half backs is not yet within his reach. He has neither the body or the mind to play such a role. Giving the kid this role at this time would be detrimental for him and the team. He has not yet shown that he is capable of a contested mark under physical pressure. Jack has shown that he is capable of finding space, his hands are great when there is a quick and clear option and his field kicking is excellent. He is learning to knock the ball to advantage and influence contests even when he can't win the ball. This is a role he is capable of and appears to be gradually building on his performances and growing in confidence each week. He makes a lot of mistakes but he is improving both his work rate and urgency. I reckon it will become clear when and if he is ready to take the next step as a key position forward. Personally I don't think it would hurt him to spend a bit more time at Casey learning the craft but I understand the notion of acclimatising him to the pace of AFL footy. Half the battle is getting the kid to believe he is good enough, the other half of the battle is having a mature body to compete with.
  5. Jamie Bennell is right up there with the other exciting young players on the list. He can collect the ball at speed and is a very good mark. We don't have a lot of X factor players, Bennell is one.
  6. Bizarre. You have ommitted three of the days better performers.
  7. Inconsistent effort needs to be and is being addressed. Its up to the players to begin to switch on for four quarters. Leadership is the big issue IMO.
  8. Really surprised today and used his frame to advantage, need to see him do it every week and not try to play as a linkman
  9. Melbourne Football Team??
  10. I don't know why I come here on match day. Anyone want to talk about the game in an objective fashion or do we have to wait a couple of days till the d%^$heads P&ss off.
  11. Thanks for the updates KC.
  12. I think Maric will play, he was the 23rd player last week and would feel fairly peeved if he felt that a lack of opportunity to play for Casey last week prevented him pushing harder for selection this week. That's why i think it's between Morton and Bail. Chances are we are both wrong
  13. The Gawn Project is a Cult figure already
  14. On exposed VFL form I would say that Bail is streets ahead of Morton if it is a fight between the two. Morton offers greater height and versatility. Bail offers line breaking speed, endurance, strength, hardness and generally sound decision making. I believe that given a bit of a run at it Rohan Bail will become a very good player for our senior team, not a depth player. I would like to see him given a game this week ahead of any of the other possibles.
  15. He took ten marks out of those 16 possessions. You're awesome.
  16. If he stays fit and continues some good form at Casey I believe the club will give him a look at senior footy before the year is out. I have spoken to him a few times and he is a really good kid.
  17. We couldn't or didn't maintain intensity? I wasn't happy about the fade-out either, would love to have beat those P*&*ks by ten goals but we took the foot of the gas because we could. I am just hopeful that we take something out of the win and get ourselves up for an away game, it has to happen evetually...doesn't it? Finally we have four forwards each capable of kicking a bag of four goals. We haven't had that for a while. I hope that the last third of the season will be a reasonably good one to watch. Sticking my neck out, but have a few scars to remind me not to do it too often. I just have a feeling we might catch them napping. Are we any chance of getting junior back?
  18. Really Jaded. I will wait till the side is selected and decide whether to put a few bucks on us. I give us a chance if we play with intensity for four quarters. The open spaces and good surface might suit us, especially our forwards.
  19. Some you win some you lose, such is the nature of drafting. Given what we know now you would have to be on bad drugs to take Morton over Rioli.
  20. Wonna - Goalsneak pocket/midfield Bennell - Wing/half forward Jetta - midfield maybe Blease - wing/half back Tapscott - midfield /half forward All very different players, a couple won't make it.
  21. Wonna is one of the best natural footballers on the list. I would hate to see him delisted. The big concern for mine is the way he manages himself and is managed when he is injured. He should be playing senior football now but again returned in an unstaisfactory state. The fitness guys need to be all over him when he can't take the track. He has been unlucky with injury sure, but I don't think there is any excuse for putting on excessive weight in the midddle of the season. Maybe an unpopular view, again I say I believe he has a huge amount of potential.
  22. I think we will match up well against them. If the fair dinkum dees turn up we will give it a shake.
  23. Could do it well, but I would like to see him on a flank or wing with space to work in. Would do a better job than Cheney IMO
