I will be very disappointed if we miss out on Brayshaw. He's the one I really want.
-
Toumpas will be okay. His biggest failure thus far has been in being picked ahead of Jack Viney's best mate, who has turned out to be a future superstar. Not one club blinked when we called out his name at pick 4 in that draft. Some posters here, rather conveniently, seem to consistently overlook this.

Melbourne appoints Shannon Byrnes as welfare and development coach

So not all lost from this 'trade' ... -
Hope it's not Brayshaw they have their sights on.
-
Don't know if Morton, Gysberts, Bennell, Petterd, Blease, Tapscott and Strauss would necessarily share that view.
-
Unless, of course, the club thinks he's going to be a bloody good AFL player and he's the best available at pick 3.
-
Did he also proffer an opinion as to how good he thinks McCartin will be at AFL level?
-
Brayshaw's the player I'm excited about. Really hope the Saints don't pick this guy.
-
No brainer. Bradshaw - pick 2 ; McCartin pick 3. Or vice versa. That said, Laverde looks set to be a great pick up.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN NEWTON

What a great post. A perspective I hadn't considered previously - thanks. -
If we take McCartin with pick 3, what hard inside mids are likely to be in the mix for pick 40?

This guy could be a sensational pick up for us. Viney's comments make him sound really promising. -
Nervous about this. That said, in Roos I trust.
-
Seems like this kid will be a good pick up. Hope it goes through. Will it be pick 2 in the PSD?
-
And one of the few MFC players that other clubs actually rated.
-
Frawley netted us pick 3. Can hardly complain about that.
-
On the basis of the bio you've posted above, it'd seem likely he'll get picked up by a club.
-
Having read this, if Petracca goes with pick 1, it appears to me that there is no stand out/obvious pick 3 for us. I would've liked to see us trade pick 3 for a decent young midfielder and say pick 6 or 7, and drafted Brayshaw with pick 2. It seems likely that picks 6 or 7 would still have landed us the type of player we'de have been happy with pick 3 - and we could also have landed a decent younger midfielder with two years in the system. Say Hvorat.

Along with the Hawks and perhaps Port, we now have the best coaching team in the league. -
I reckon Matt Jones is okay.

Mark Neeld head of development at the Bombers
Ron Burgundy replied to Jack Jack Tappy's topic in Melbourne Demons
Ironic that we've exchanged some MFC DNA (Craig, Neeld) for some Essendon DNA (Jackson, Goodwin). Probably on the better side of this trade. -

Really good post M'kaaay. As soon as I read the title for this thread, I felt pleased. For Mark Neeld. Neeld was clearly out of his depth at this club. I agree, this was not entirely his fault - although he did seem to contribute to it. Pretty actively. That said, I think he did what he felt was best for the club whilst he was here, and he should be respected for that. I too wish him good luck with the next gig. Endorse these sentiments absolutely. Stoked that our coaching panel now consists of Roos, Goodwin and McCartney though. -
Tapscott wasn't a smokey. Many had thought he'd go higher than he did.
-
I thought Tapscott was a safe selection.
-
Strauss was a silly selection at pick 19 in that draft.
