  1. Glenn sounds good. That said, I don't even know what he looks like.
  2. Petracca and Brayshaw look so un-MFC like for draftee midfielders to the club. Neither are choir boys. Bloody pumped. About time. I have always loved this club. And it feels like it is finally starting to pay me back.
  3. In retrospect, i.e. not based on the evidence known at the time the decision was made.
  4. I'm not so much gobsmacked that we picked Scully at number one, I'm gobsmacked that GWS agreed to pay him $6 million over 6 years after only 2 years in the system, and in circumstances where they had 400 other talented first round kids on their list. That they did though, probably suggests we actually got this pick right.
  5. Would be a bloody remarkable story if he makes it. He seems to hold the ball well in that 'before' shot. We need an effective ruckman, so, if he's the best available, why not?! I'm not opposed to it - I just can't quite get my head around this sort of transformation. Pity we can't get Stef Martin back.
  6. The new Prince of Geelong. Fortunately, the Prince we effectively swapped him for is in much better nick.
  7. Tyler Roos. If only for the fact that he seems a good kid, is popular with other required players, and it would ensure the Roos family's bond with the club gets more entrenched.
  8. He looks like he would dominate in a game of footy in Kalgoorlie. And definitely in the pub following it. Not in the AFL. Having seen the 'before' shot, I simply can't get my head around the fact that someone could go from that to dominating an AFL game in 2015 and beyond. It's simply so elite now. And these guys have got to run like Kenyans - even the ruckmen, just to get to the contest. Good luck to him - but I just can't see it. Would be an amazing story if he gets picked up - literally the stuff of movie land.
  9. And McCartney. The best development coach in the league. This trade/draft period has been off the charts. Thank you Paul Roos. And Peter Jackson.
  10. Much depends on how Petracca and Brayshaw will turn out, but it seems that this draft period has finally given us the depth of quality we need to build an elite midfield. Prior to this we had too many VFL standard mids, and not enough elite, or potentially elite, AFL mids. I think that has now been remedied.
  11. Me too. But I'm over that delusional feeling. I'm now more logical. The club is being built differently now. Properly built. Resurrected in fact. For instance, Gartlett and pick 83 for pick 61 and 79. That's simply an outrageous deal. Previously, we would've traded our first round pick for that. And still been excited.
  12. I, for one, will desperately miss Chip's well intentioned, country boy loyalty.
  13. I am pumped. This is turning out to be a bloody good trade/draft period for us. Particularly when you add Goodwin and McCartney into the mix. Go the mighty, fighting Demons. Bring on 2015. We're back. Almost.
  14. I am sick of all the Toumpas bagging on this site. Toumpas was a stand-out junior, with a bloody good attitude and strong desire to succeed. I am very confident he'll turn out to be a really good player for us. Ollie Wines is a gun. He went at pick 7. That means a lot of clubs had other players ahead of him. This stuff happens. I'll be happy with either Petracca or McCartin. Both have massive upside, albeit for very different reasons.
  15. Dead set - how many former Dees have had coaching and admin gigs with the Hawks in recent times?! It's ridiculous.
  16. Top post - I absolutely agree. Dunn is one of my favourite players.
  17. Petracca looks pretty bloody good. The recruiter at St Kilda must be sweating bullets.
  18. Happy to be held to account on this. And, while we're at it, I'd be very happy to have some distance on the view I expressed previously that Colin Sylvia would win a Brownlow.
  19. Early days I know, but it seems to me that we absolutely nailed the mid to late picks with Dean Kent and JKH.
  20. I think our list has been improved in the post season, as has the coaching panel (George Stone excluded obviously) and presumably also the players' understanding and ability to execute Roos' game plan/structures. We literally stole losses from the jaws of victory against Port and the Bulldogs last year. In a sense, we should've had 6 wins last year. All things going well, and with the improvements to the list etc, I am hoping for about 10 wins next season.
  21. Brayshaw and Petracca would be unbelievable for this club. Would be very happy with Brayshaw and McCartin too. In some respects, having picks 2 and 3 is probably as good as having picks 1 & 2 in this draft.
  22. He just seems to have the right blend of attributes. But I'm just basing this on what I've read about him. I've not actually sat in any interviews with him.
