It beggars belief to think we essentially let Rivers go for him.

Jamar has been our biggest problem for the last two games IMO. We keep getting creamed in the clearances - principally because Jamar is getting absolutely towelled by the opposition ruckman.

A CLUB IN CRISIS ... THE AFL MUST STEP IN
Ron Burgundy replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
What's your agenda RR? You trying to kill the club? Would you find that satisfying in some demented way? Or are you just trying to be the 'know all' on the site again ... Cop a tip - it's not actually about you. -
Munga's 100% correct. If you want this club to survive, you absolutely have to continue to support it - now more than ever. Surely that's as obvious as pig's genitals. That said, I have been a Neeld supporter - some say an "apologist". I'd like to say I'm an evidence based, logical thinker. And the evidence from last night does not lead to any positive conclusions as to where this rebuild is heading. Some change needs to be made, even if it is only symbolic to persons outside the club. That was freakin pathetic. I can't even blame the umpires.

Viney and Toumpas will each be elite. Importantly though, elite in different ways. You can build a midfield around this combination. And (dreaming now) if we could ever bring Wines into the side, these musketeers would have a field day in opposition territory ...

Jack Trengove would be picked up by EVERY other club in the land. He is not a plodder. There are a few plodders on this thread though.

Plodder?! No other team in the entire competition would think that of Jack Trengove.
-
Clearly Misson's fault. Sack him.
-
He'll play against Essendon.
-
And, whilst we're at it, let's trade Nicholson for Buddy Franklin, Daisy Thomas, Ollie Wines and Dean Cox.
-
Stop talking sense Moonshadow - no one's listening. Couldn't agree more by the way ...

Bloody hell.

What's your point RR? This makes zero sense. Cop a tip - don't ever bag Neeld in future for his match day moves when you're coming out with dumb ass, prescriptive, non sensical instructions such as this one. I want us to win this game - not have it being used for petty point scoring.

Like everyone here, I really like the look of Wines and would love to see him in the red and the blue one day. BUT I take great comfort in the fact that there's absolutely no way Wines flew under Todd Viney's radar, and, despite Wines' undoubted strengths, he went for Jimmy Toumpas, a kid who was widely touted as a number two draft pick for most of the year. Given that Todd Viney loves the competitive hard nuts (for eg, I expect, Wines), I feel supremely confident we have landed a little ripper in Jimmy Toumpas. So much so I recently ordered a size 00 authentic MFC guernsey with number 5 on the back for our kid who's due on 29 April - his first footy guernsey. It arrived the other day, and it's tiny. (And yep, he's a fully paid up member, despite not even being born yet.) As an aside, I think Trengove will pleasantly surprise a few of the doubters this year. He's got a lot going for him as a footballer, something that some here strangely seem to have forgotten.
-
Still very disappointed we missed out on Hannath. We needed mids and run off half back though as well, which we did target in the draft.

I agree with this. The major concern for me however has always been Rivers out, Gillies in. And Sunday's performance did nothing to change that.

Neeld: What do you think tonotopia will think of this? Misson: Dunno - what do you reckon mate? Neeld: Probably more of the same - death by hanging at dawn. For all of us - you too Leigh and that other bloke wearing the yellow top in the right of the screen. Might even have us drawn and quartered as well. Misson: Sheez man - could be ugly.

If Demonland was a country, we'd be Japan. We'd appoint a new Prime Minister every second week of every year. Amateur hour at its best.

Apologies if I mis-read your post.

Gonzo comment at its best. I'm not the one who's attacking Neeld, the footy department and the Board. You are. So, self evidently, it's the likes of YOU who need to step up if you are not satisfied with what they are doing/trying to do. Surely this is totally bloody obvious. The thought processes underlying so many posts here are simply ridiculous. FWIW, I'm talking about cash flow Dr Bozo. Cop a tip - check out what s 95A of the Corporations Act says about the importance of cash flow to the viability of an entity. The effect of not renewing memberships is the ultimate in throwing the baby out with the bath water. And no - I'm not happy about what we had to endure yesterday. In fact, I'm not happy about a lot of things about our list. But I don't think that's all Neeld's fault. Rivers aside, I'm not sure any of the list from the end of 2011 would've had any positive impact on the result yesterday.

I agree with this. No beards tomorrow morning. They look bloody stupid.

If I had the dough, I would personally pay for the membership of everyone on this site to ensure that this club had a future for my kids. I don't have the dough though - so I rely on you guys to continue to sign up yourselves. I've already seen one club I support go under - don't want it to happen to another. If any of you are fair dinkum about making changes to the way in which things are run at the MFC, nominate yourself for the Board at the next election. It's a bit rich to expect others to do it all, and then bag the hell out of them if things aren't going our way. Perhaps someone should put themselves forward as a Demonland nominee for the Board at the next election ...
-
What - and cruel the club's cash flows altogether?! Like most things being written here at the moment, that would be a deeply stupid and irrational thing to do. Get behind the club if you want it to remain viable. FFS.
