NON-MFC: Round 12
Swans were mentally broken in last year's GF, then lost their long term coach ( I called he would step down at the time and he did a bit later, as he knew he couldn't do more than he had at the club), then a ton of injuries to key players. Eventually something will crack and the Crows have built a good side that last year was expected to compete near the top, looks like they have got the balance right this year. Cox a bad coach. Who know he's been in the job for less than half a season. Players adjusting to a new coach after so long an issue, most likely. But it will take time for his players to change the way they play after so long under 1 coach an like us his season will improve Shen he starts getting his key players back into the side. The annoying win was Freo, bloody Gold Coast, I guess they aren't used to play in such weather?

POSTGAME: Rd 11 vs Sydney
Playing with confidence in the new system. Asa result their is less skill error as player dont second guess where to go. Good to see it in practice against a good defensive side. Plus the team pressure is back. Great to see.

Clarry or Viney going to Warner? and/or Heeny if they swap during the game. Big opportunity today to build momentum for the rest of the fast moving season.

POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
I didn't watch he game until late last night. though early on with those easy misses from set shots, it was groundhog day. The big difference was the 4th qtr. Best 4th we have played and by that I mean we actually played out a 4th qtr for the fist time this year. overall the team looks better and working together for a common goal.

RIP Gone too young. Someone you could listen too for great insight into the game.

Luke Jackson back to Victoria?
Will structurally his return will fixed the problem we haven't fixed since we left. Most likely. He always worked well with Gawn previously, so it won't be a Grundy situation. He's also bigger and stronger which is great. Whether it happens, we'll find out. I'll have to look at Tuesday West to read the article.

POSTGAME: Rd 09 vs Hawthorn
I'll say the worst umpiring I've seen in a long time., muppets. But it was all the regulation set shots we missed in the 2nd and 3rd that cost us the game. Otherwise that was the best team effort we have played all year as a team. There is still the issue of 4th qtr fadeouts to work on.

PODCAST: Harvey Langford Interview
Not sure if it been asked above in some form: How did the exception and commitment change from state league to the AFL in his training and preparation. (Aside now being a full-time footballer).

The Melksham incident
Having watched that umpire live, she does not understand how players legally use their bodies to control space in the field. In multiple contested actions she called free's where none were present for normal actions like the clear mark by Melks. . Without knowing her background, I assume she has never played competitive game at a decent level.???

PODCAST: Rd 08 vs West Coast
watching it love has given me more opportunity to comment. Are we developing the ability to sling shot out of defence, as the players and their run indicates no. Lack of movement and run to create the handball chains. (He gales managed it more than once) Yes the eagles were defensive, but so are all teams to enact a quick break. As result we move slow allowing for a. contested forward entry. How important has Melks become in receiving across the 50 and delivering with advantage to our forwards. Finally, Fritta, does work hard enough or support his teammates without the ball, a few times he cold have run to Shepards players coming into 50 to allow them to settle and kick, but choose to run away hoping for a receive. JVR would have been a better inclusion if he has his touch back, especially combined with the lack of height in our forward line. I assume as it's ongoing the coaching staff are allowing this as his behaviour has not changed.

POSTGAME: Rd 08 vs West Coast
First off, it was great to watch the win live. But we’re still clearly a team developing under the new game plan. The Eagles looked to play a high-pressure, defensively focused game. With the exception of one player who consistently stayed forward of the pack near their goal, they relied on quick handballs out to launch their slingshot attack. When the ball was out in space, they were very quick—showing a level of leg speed we lacked—which made them hard to defend. We concentrated numbers around the ball to win the contest, but that left us with little space to break free. I was expecting us to showcase more of the quick slingshot-style movement once we got on top, but we rarely did. We still look slow and hesitant to spot the free man and commit to hard running to create overlap. (Yes, the Eagles were playing a high-pressure 1:1 structure to stop it, but they managed to pull it off.) So instead, we moved the ball steadily with short kicks, then went long into the 50. That just led to repeat contests and constant rebounds. Kolt had a rough start—two marking errors early on. The dropped ball with Gawn was right in front of me. It was clearly Kolt’s to take, but he seemed to hesitate as Gawn came in, and that led to the drop. Then there was the chest mark he spilled later. But credit to him—he kept working and stayed in the game. Fritta… his off-the-ball work really needs attention. There’s a noticeable lack of support for teamates, no shepherds or pressure acts. He seems more focused on getting into space to receive the ball himself, often ignoring teammates in better positions. Around the contest, we desperately need to develop a wide option to exit congestion. As usual, we overuse the short handball in tight, and that’s more about poor positioning than poor skills. As for the forward line until Turner was moved down there we looked very short. It’s tough to generate a contest when you’re undersized everywhere. That said, it was good to see Max get a goal (just!). Three wins in a row now, even if they’ve come against lower ranked teams it builds confidence.
