  1. not playing well. need to get their game flowing. Making some really poor decisions, such as 3 meter [censored] kicks that don't hit targets.
  2. We won't know until the boys play next year. Just listening to bucket response on the process. The successful coach would have outlined how he would get the best out of the current list and how he would build the team over the long term. King was the best at doing this. He has also worked in multiple successful clubs and got to know their systems and how they worked. What we don't know yet is the team that is going to be around him and implement his plan. Personally I am happier to go with a younger new coach with different ideas than the experienced group initially spoken about, that weren't interested. Even bucks was still on the fence, you don't want that in a coach.
  3. As far as I can tell it's a good appointment. Be in multiple successfu system and worked with different coaches with different approaches. Interesting they are allowing him to finish out the season, as they normally leave straight away, is the AFL maturing :) If we can build a sustained model of competing at the top as promised after 2021, it will be a success.
  4. Being in WA I didnt see anything of him. But like his old man. seemed to all in with effort which I liked on what I saw of him briefly. Whether you had potential? But Goodwin was set on who he wanted in first, so few had a chance to show their wares like brown.
  5. Gee the umpiring is bad
  6. was hoping for a cats/pies prelim at worst. Brissie kicking into the fwd line like us.
  7. 18 points and nothing to lose fort he crows.
  8. Hoping to see the pies fall off the cliff tonight....
  9. If a player wants to move, there is always a price both will accept. Though more clubs like us are holding players to their contracts. (So they should). Though they have Darcy for the primary ruck role, who is only 27, teenager in ruck years. The question will the it prove be too high. My case study is the movement of Kelly. It 2 first and 2 second round picks. The long term impact it had of taking away more young talent in those drafts that we are seeing the impact of today. While I believe that Jackson is a far better player than Kelly (Great player when not the first mid, he excelled with those ahead of him were the focus of opposition , freeing him up ) It would be a great coup if we can get him, this year or next.
  10. Just looked at the fixture, we don't play north in the H&A, as long as we stay 1st or 2nd (Them vice versa) and win our finals we wouldn't meet them until a GF.
  11. Yep, just saw their scoreline, again a huge score.
  12. Happy we won. Also happy that a team came out with huge pressure to try and break us as what's happened in previous season. We responded better than we have in the past. We need to adapt to our missing personal as its short season. In the end a win is a win.
  13. The problem is and he know it, who does he replace in the side.
  14. Whether the best of all time, not sure, (I'd like us to get someone soon who also surpasses him as well:) ) but I would place him equal on top of the tree with a select few group of great players for our club. For me it was still Flower, nut I'll put Gawn, and Barassi together with him in terms of players. Then Norm Smith as a player and coach.
  15. Anyone new or hasn't won for a long time. Most likely in my vote is Adelaide, but GWS, Gold Coast and Freo (Not that I want the freo excitement being in WA)
  16. A real bugger for Purcell, second knee injury on memory. Given how important for us she is a massive loss. Wish her a speedy recovery.
  17. And G.Lovett kept doing Hammies, and Jacko his back, Then Tingay fell through a bloody window (I think that was next next summer break)... then... horrible run. Whether his game style stood up in the AFL compared to the SA league with the more prep and observation by the opposing in preparing for game. I think he was undone by the simply fact they could pick his game apart if we weren't fully fit.
  18. On Paper he had a great team, then you take out the key injuries we kept getting. That would hurt the best coaches. In the last 2 he wasn't the coach, big difference. Interestingly If you think of 1994, massive wins then smashed by eagles, and then our drop off was almost a mirror image of 2018 and the following year.
  19. If Freo loses, you'll have to think their coach is gone this year. He cant get them into finals and always fade out in the second half.
  20. I agree 100%, it was the glue and brains in the team.
  21. Typical game, lots with poor skills and decision making. Still some good signs across the team so not all is lost. Bring on the new coach and drive in 2026. Edit: Look how good the girls are drilled and play.
  22. Thanks for the commitment Chocco in our flag and since. But it was time for change.
  23. I guess we should get Mitchell then, he's developed that at the Hawks, followed what Clarkson did when eh took over. In reality if they focus on it they can improve it. Obviously it has not bee a focus for us. As in a central skill focus.
  24. The change will draft rules. Essentially until now they were a "State" AFLW team as all pretty much all the good SA player just nominated for SA teams only, with virtually all going to the Crows until port arrived. Not that is gone (Thank god) and all girls draft go nationwide when picked. So I expect they will become less dominant as their first few drafts age out. Yeah dislike them too as the rules really favoured them and gave them those early cups with a massively distorted drafts.
