Time to start a rebuild?
We ar ein the process of an ongoing rebuild with the recent trading for high draft picks. We have a good core of young players. What we need to a coach that can get the skills back up to play the game style we need. Look at the skills of the hawks, same when Clarkson Tok over, they spend time developing this skills once draft. Before I switched off today (2nd week in a row which is rare) so many fundamental basic skills errors cost us the ability to move the ball quickly without pressure and/or lead to a turnover and a goal against. Whatever changes Trac demanded to improve standards is not evident.

Media Madness
I don't know why Goodwin mentioned it... its was odd and unexpected. Gawn had a crapgame, it happens, it's only noteworthy as he's normally so consistent. The media is about clicks and attention and will jump on anything to get it. Don't pay attention to it and life is easier. Some will ride a dead horse to seem important.

NON-MFC: Round 02
True, it was the changing in that was designed to deliberately hamstring us post 65'.

NON-MFC: Round 02
WTF, kicking sideways at goals while 12 metres directly in front. How poor are some players kicking skills.

NON-MFC: Round 02
Crows will have a good year if they can avoid injuries... love seeing the bombers fail and so early in the season.

AJ Suspended
Guess so, it wasn't mentioned on the telecast as an issue, and they normally jump pn those to create drama and commentary

Harley Reid
I agree on the offer. 3 first rounders would have been a better deal to rebuild their side. Though there reports is that he came back overweight and his efforts on Sunday wont get him a bit contract at this stage.

POSTGAME: Rd 01 vs GWS
Happy with the first up for the new players. Not happy with Goodwin on making Lindsay the sub as I choose him over Xavier for my dream team rookie spot! :( I assume in the wet he went with speed early in the game? GWS are expected to be top4, coming off a good win over the pies, so they were one game ahead of us in game time, which can make a difference especially for young players. team pressure was good over the 4 quarters. Need work on patterns in the forward line as Jeffo was spoiled a couple of times when in the best position by other dee's going up when they should not have. Also, gee he looks bloody young in the face. Highlight of the day was Windsor, goal on the run and breaking 2 tackles Looking forward to a better year than last.

NON-MFC: Round 01
Ruined my footy tipping, but it was worth it. And a decent game to watch too to start the season.

PODCAST: Practice Match vs Fremantle
Edit: Oops, realised I'm a date late... Public holidays does that to me... Great listening to the first podcast last week. The points to discuss from watching live on Sunday. After 1/2 time we improved to a more running style of game. It also coincided with the injection of more experienced players into the team compared to the first half. We still have no clear strategy to quickly move from the backline forward. Too often we moved left and right without any speed to spread the field. Freo easily covered the movement. Lastly, defending quick movement. Freo is well drilled in moving quickly, we were better than last year in reducing the number of fast transitions, albeit in a practice match. Form ground level I could not see a big change in out structure to counter this. It only took one of our boys not to chase hard out of the fwd to freeing up a chain of players.
