NON-MFC: Finals Week 01
Hoping to see the pies fall off the cliff tonight....

Luke Jackson back to Victoria?
If a player wants to move, there is always a price both will accept. Though more clubs like us are holding players to their contracts. (So they should). Though they have Darcy for the primary ruck role, who is only 27, teenager in ruck years. The question will the it prove be too high. My case study is the movement of Kelly. It 2 first and 2 second round picks. The long term impact it had of taking away more young talent in those drafts that we are seeing the impact of today. While I believe that Jackson is a far better player than Kelly (Great player when not the first mid, he excelled with those ahead of him were the focus of opposition , freeing him up ) It would be a great coup if we can get him, this year or next.

AFLW: Rd 03 vs Collingwood
Just looked at the fixture, we don't play north in the H&A, as long as we stay 1st or 2nd (Them vice versa) and win our finals we wouldn't meet them until a GF.

AFLW: Rd 03 vs Collingwood
Yep, just saw their scoreline, again a huge score.

AFLW: Rd 03 vs Collingwood
Happy we won. Also happy that a team came out with huge pressure to try and break us as what's happened in previous season. We responded better than we have in the past. We need to adapt to our missing personal as its short season. In the end a win is a win.

CASEY: Elimination Final vs Williamstown
The problem is and he know it, who does he replace in the side.

The Greatest Demon of All Time?
Whether the best of all time, not sure, (I'd like us to get someone soon who also surpasses him as well:) ) but I would place him equal on top of the tree with a select few group of great players for our club. For me it was still Flower, nut I'll put Gawn, and Barassi together with him in terms of players. Then Norm Smith as a player and coach.

2025 AFL Premiers Poll
Anyone new or hasn't won for a long time. Most likely in my vote is Adelaide, but GWS, Gold Coast and Freo (Not that I want the freo excitement being in WA)

AFLW Injury List 2025
A real bugger for Purcell, second knee injury on memory. Given how important for us she is a massive loss. Wish her a speedy recovery.

Adelaide
And G.Lovett kept doing Hammies, and Jacko his back, Then Tingay fell through a bloody window (I think that was next next summer break)... then... horrible run. Whether his game style stood up in the AFL compared to the SA league with the more prep and observation by the opposing in preparing for game. I think he was undone by the simply fact they could pick his game apart if we weren't fully fit.

Adelaide
On Paper he had a great team, then you take out the key injuries we kept getting. That would hurt the best coaches. In the last 2 he wasn't the coach, big difference. Interestingly If you think of 1994, massive wins then smashed by eagles, and then our drop off was almost a mirror image of 2018 and the following year.

NON-MFC: Round 24
If Freo loses, you'll have to think their coach is gone this year. He cant get them into finals and always fade out in the second half.

Ben Brown article
I agree 100%, it was the glue and brains in the team.

POSTGAME: Rd 24 vs Collingwood
Typical game, lots with poor skills and decision making. Still some good signs across the team so not all is lost. Bring on the new coach and drive in 2026. Edit: Look how good the girls are drilled and play.

Choco Williams axed
Thanks for the commitment Chocco in our flag and since. But it was time for change.
- Welcome to Demonland: Kalani White

Cam Bruce to Melbourne?
I guess we should get Mitchell then, he's developed that at the Hawks, followed what Clarkson did when eh took over. In reality if they focus on it they can improve it. Obviously it has not bee a focus for us. As in a central skill focus.

AFLW SEASON OPENS THIS WEEK
The change will draft rules. Essentially until now they were a "State" AFLW team as all pretty much all the good SA player just nominated for SA teams only, with virtually all going to the Crows until port arrived. Not that is gone (Thank god) and all girls draft go nationwide when picked. So I expect they will become less dominant as their first few drafts age out. Yeah dislike them too as the rules really favoured them and gave them those early cups with a massively distorted drafts.

AFLW SEASON OPENS THIS WEEK
Great first up game by the girls. Started a bit slow and they have to adjust to the new holding the ball rule which is a lot stricter. Chaplin, Purcell and Hanks. But what's with Tayla. I think we should just sit her out of game 1 every year :( Hopefully it was better by the end of the game. though her pack marking was great. Gee it was crowded around the ball. It would be nice to see some big long handballs out of packs to space to break, but its a different game.

POSTGAME: Rd 23 vs Hawthorn
Great to see we are doing our part to keep the Pies out of the finals!!! :(

GAMEDAY: Rd 23 vs Hawthorn
Starting to be like the trivia question. who kicked 5 goals in the 1990 grand final?

GAMEDAY: Rd 23 vs Hawthorn
TO think many years ago we could have gotten Guston... Gee the difference in skills makes it two completely class of teams playing.

PODCAST: Rd 22 vs Western Bulldogs
I guess there will some discussion on the end of Goodwin. My question is the debate of where should we look, experienced i.e. Buckley (Almost last previous coach standing) or a highly rated assistant with new ideas. From the Bulldogs game, the players seem to have more freedom to run and attack and it bought different players into the game. I also liked the Presser by Chaplin (He's smart as he knows caretakers dont end up long term coaches). and he spoke really well, nice to hear a different voice. Maybe Goodwin should have mixed it up with different coaches presenting at different times. How much of a difference to meeting to game plan was the new mix of players and their positioning on the field. From my Kayo broadcast there seems to be some notable changes in where players were positioned/started providing a fast movement and better targets forward. On the flip side, skills still not get enough by even our best skilled players.

POSTGAME: Rd 22 vs Western Bulldogs
At one point it was sign him up..... Bit disappointed they didn't interview him before the games (It wasn't on kayo) Good signs that have been there later in the latter part of the year. A few small tweaks in where players played including seeing max was resting forward at a CB at least once (I only had kayo to watch) Lost of skill and polish to support the great running, it what was not a high pressure game from the dogs. Windsor looks much better in his natural position, pity he'll most like;y miss the last 2 games.
