  1. CW - In legal terms we may have done nothing wrong and nevertheless we should be punished heavily. I might have to completely rethink my whole career.
  2. Greg Denham rejoiced in the phrase that the MFC stood for nothing. Standing up to a bully is a great start. I don't see how the oldest sporting club in the world can do justice to its history, members, supporters, past players and officials, if it accepts a title as a match fixer. Any deal that avoids that, is worth considering, as long as it doesn't involve unfair treatment of its staff. I would imagine our players and the football community are watching our handling of this issue and it really is line in the sand stuff. How can you expect our players to fight if we are seen as a coward?
  3. Someone said recently in a discussion on today's journalists, that in the old days they reported the news, today they try and make it. CW is probably the leading exponent of the latter.
  4. That's great, a loyal servant of the club makes a joke according to you and you would have no symapthy if he got a life ban. On that basis the Essendon Coaches face death by firing squad.
  5. I went out with a lovely Italian girl when i was younger and learned some italian. Maybe I should apply, I could hack people kissing my feet.
  6. I have already taken up religion, I have been praying for a good outcome in the tanking saga.
  7. One thing I know for sure and that is I haven't the faintest idea of what is happening or when it will.
  8. Clearly not the post of a Melbourne supporter.
  9. Bailey actually made a public comment. He said he coached to maximise draft picks. That could bring the game into disrepute if you took it the wrong way. A small fine for him and a small fine for CC for his silly joke could end it, with no finding of tanking. On the other hand Bailey's comment is open to another interpretation. He coached, trying every player even in different positions, to see who should be gone at the end of the year, thereby maximising the number of draft picks the club would have, by getting rid of players that he saw wouldn't make it.
  10. I posed that scenario in one of my earlier posts. That would mean you could fine CS and CC for attempting to do something and the club and Bailey walk.
  11. The closer the announcement gets to the Commission meeting next monday, makes me suspect it is likely a deal has been or is close to being done.
  12. Bob can correct me if he knows but I think he would have and quite forcibly.
  13. Well my recollection was obviously wrong.
  14. Have to admit that has turned out to be a bad one.
  15. I hate to say this, but my recollection was the Saints mid with the Spanish sounding name. If I see him at the next horse sales in early March I will ask him.
  16. I am not rewriting history. I don't know who you are, so can't be sure if you were standing next to me when I heard it from the horse's mouth, but I would imagine given your post that you weren't. Let me spell it out for you, Molan was not Craig's choice at that pick but was his choice when asked to draft a specific type of player. If he was chosen with our 4th or 5th pick we wouldn't be discussing him. Craig was not the sort of bloke to blame someone else so he used the collective "we" as a Club blew it. The individual who blew it was the Coach. Lastly, the bloke sustained crippling injuries which never really allowed him to have an AFL career.
  17. Does that seem fair to you? If he was totally against Molan but was ordered to take him, do you think it is fair that he is blamed for it?
  18. Correct. I know he is a mate and yes I stick up for mates, but every thing he has done at Melbourne has been for the club. He improved our footy department, he has chased sponsorship and membership for us, he helped get the foundation off and running and still seeks new members, he is helping develop Casey, he works after business hours giving tours of the new facilities, etc, etc, etc he bleeds for the club. I am sick to death of some of the snide comments from some on here who want to throw him under the bus. We are all in the trenches together and I hope to God we stick together. This is not directed at you Fifty-5 it was just an opportune time to post it in reply to your post.
